  • Came back to Buttonwillow in PB weather and it did not disappoint! First session out I was able to get down to a 2:06.1, even with a tiny bit of traffic and messing up a few corners slightly. There's definitely more in the car, evidenced by a 2:04 that Brian Tyson did in a mostly stock Fiesta (tires and e30 tune). Ultimate goal is to sub-2 min, but I think that will require an upgraded turbo. Regardless, super pleased with that time, it wasn't good enough for a podium as it was the 2nd OnGrid Shootout event of the year, but I expected that since Buttonwillow always attracts the big guns.

Appreciate it! It was cool, that's always a benefit of track days like this, you never know what the variety will be like

2:04 in a mostly stock fist seems pretty nuts to me 🤯, would love to see that lap. Hope you're able to find the time to beat that, but 2:06 isnt slow either haha. Do you think E30 would get you that little extra push to go 2:04 or under?
Im looking at getting another fist myself, goal for it would be to beat my mk7 gti's CW13 PB (2:07) with light suspension and wheels/tires. Miss driving these little rockets

E30 would definitely help, unfortunately using anything above 93 octane in my current time attack series pushes me up to the next class, so I wanna hold off doing that until I've gone big turbo. I think there's enough time to be gained to get very close to Brian's time on my 91 octane, I'm heading back out to Buttonwillow in Dec to see how close I can get.
