Great review. I have the same complaint as well, it's very hard to get the soft flask out...and putting it back after drinking is disastrous, and it could leak whenever I push a little too hard.
I have the Naked hip belt, a great piece of kit. Pockets and pole storage located in an convenient way. Wish you the best on getting your hands on one. Thanks for the review great stuff 👍🏽
Just the review I needed! Was looking around on TH-cam last night for a review of this and I could only find Spanish ones, and tonight you upload this! Great insight, thanks
Probably the best belt I have used. Stays put and feels minimal with little stuff and still stays put when packed full. So it can be used for short 5k or longer 30k run.. I use it mostly to put clothes in when it gets warm.. No need to stop running when taking off gloves, buff or light jacket, which all fit the bigger pocket while still having room for 450ml bottle and gels. And zipper pocket for cell. I also like the security of pockets and how you can pack full running gear into it for later use. Some other models have more open pockets and stuff probably wouldn't stay in, while not wearing the belt.. With such belts stuff wouldn't probably easily drop from pockets while just running, but knowing myself, I probably would be constantly double checking if something would have accidentally dropped.. And with nathan hipster belt I accidentally dropped my cell phone into toilet bowl while lifting the belt a bit. So, unsecure pockets are unsecure, period. With only one opening in the bigger pocket it's sometimes bit unconvenient to reach small stuff behind other stuff at the very end of the pocket, but with bit of thoughtful organization, like having the most used items at the center, such problems can be minimized..
Thanks for the review. Very well rounded with the positives, negatives and competitors. I also looked into a pole carying solution. I ordered the Salomon pole quiver knowing that it will not fit onto the Adv Skin 12L, but I will sew some loops onto the pack to make it fit. Wanted to get the Naked band for a while but couldn't find it anywhere.
Thanks, glad you found it useful. I couldn't find the quiver anywhere, and export costs for the Naked band didn't stack up. As I mentioned I believe Centurion now have it (if UK based).
On my daily runs (road and trail) I tend to use a flip belt (zippered) - to carry keys, phone, tripod, gopro etc.. nice and comfortable, but not good for ultra/long runs as the material holds water./sweat. thanks for the review.. might try this one as an alternative (or the Naked).
Hi, thanks for the great review, do you think a running belt with water bottle holder will be better? a water bottle put inside the belt, i guess i will uncomfortable when running, the water bottle will slide up and down around my waist.
I think the bottle is okay inside the belt as long as not too big (or too full). But if looking to carry a full 500ml bottle you do notice it. I find maybe 300ml or less is a lot more comfortable.
Thanks Randy. I am short. Waist is c. 30inches/76cm. I bought a small. My wife is thinner and used the small as well. I think if bigger I would want a larger size as is a tight fit for me. After Christmas may not fit ;-)
Great review, thanks! I've actually been using one of these myself for the last six months or so, to carry my phone and keys on training runs and agree with your comments on fit and lack of bounce. One of the best belts I've used. Interestingly on Saturday morning I tried carrying my Leki poles, as a test ahead of Lakeland 100 in a few week times. While it felt very comfortable throughout my 2.5 hour run, a few hours later my back felt quite bruised and still does 48 hours later. I can therefore confirm that additional padding is required if you want to carry poles :( I will give the padding a go you suggested, what specifically did you buy?
Thanks Giles. Interesting to hear about the Leki poles. I had thought they may not be too bad as seem slightly smoother. I started feeling it on a training run on a descent when they were moving a bit more than on the flat sections. I bought Chiropody/Podiatry padding from Amazon - seemed to be lots of options (mine was 5mm thick, figured could double it up if required, and as designed for feet to way stay together if it got wet etc.). Cost about £4. Good luck for Lakeland 100.
Thanks! Great shout with the chiropody padding, I was thinking of some dense foam like a sleeping matt or similar. Will order some off Amazon and give it a go :)
Thanks for the video. Do you think one could store 2 half liter soft flasks in the belt? I'm looking for a way to carry extra water on unsupported long efforts.
Great review and good tip regarding padding for the poles. Does either pocket extend round to the sides of the belt (like the flip belt brand) or is it just a narrow pocket front and back with no way to utilise the area on the sides? Cheers.
Sorry for the typo - clearly meant Positives! Have you used the Salomon Pulse Belt, or another belt for running? What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks Michael. Only heard good things about it. Looks like a great piece of kit.

Thanks Will - good timing then :-)
Thinking of buying one so thanks for your review.
I got it today, days are getting warmer and this could come in handy to carry the phone and some water. thanks for the review!
super helpful, thank you!

Looked the salomon belt up online. Which size did you get?
TheMoifel I went for the small based on the size graph I found.

Just got mine 👍 bargain for £20 just mainly for my phone, gels and I've not tried my poles yet.

Hello! Great video and congrats on your channel. What size did you purchase and how tall are you? Thanks a lot

Nice, I have a waist pack, but it bounces.. this looks great!
That's a nice belt. I have two FlipBelts which work well but I'm becoming a little more dissatified with them the more stuff I have to carry.

Thanks Jay
Great review. What size did you get please? Was it a tight fit when loaded up? Thanks
I went for a small, it is tight, but not uncomfortable. If lose then would imagine more bouncing around.
Thanks for the video. Do you think one could store 2 half liter soft flasks in the belt? I'm looking for a way to carry extra water on unsupported long efforts.
I think it may be a little tight to fit 2 1/2l soft flasks - maybe one and then a smaller one.

Thanks. Not that far round, more front and back only. Are reasonably long (i.e. can fit in a soft flask), but not around the sides.
TMR Coaching thanks for the reply. Might pick one up for my next race.
@@GearTutorials Also heard really positive things about the Naked Running Band - more pockets on that. Not had an opportunity to try it out though.
I bought one on Friday for my upcoming 50k, couldn’t find any reviews in English! Filled a much needed gap
Thanks, glad it was of value.
