    I have used 5%minoxidil on my temples for a couple years or more. My method of applying it is using a dermaroller .5 going in the direction on the hair the night before I wash it. I wash my hair every other day. It has really been effective for filling in the sparse areas. I buy the Kirkland brand in the small bottles from Amazon. I put one small bottle into a small spray bottle for easier application and thoroughly rub into the areas I have derarolled.

      Ok so a little tip:
      Shake shake shake.
      Then try to gently depress the pump 1/2 way or less. The foam turns to liquid fast and you don’t need big blobs, we need small blobs (lol).
      Also I start a little back from the front of my hair bc the solution will travel down the parting toward your face. I waste a lot less by starting a little back, and the solution gets where it needs to be anyway. I hope this makes sense 🩷

    I've been using the HairMax band for over a year, and 9-mo ago started oral minoxidil. I also use a scalp massage while bending over so it really encourages hair flow . Eight months ago I did Penn's scalp microneedling w/topical minoxidil protocol (I stopped taking the oral minoxidil during this time and used the topical for 3-mo). I microneedled my full scalp. The microneedling protocol did WONDERS for my baby hairs around my face and neck. They are now growing long!!! I'm going to do the microneedling protocol every few months to keep the follicles big. Taking oral minoxidil is easy, doesn't gunk the hair, and I'm fast child bearing age so it's a no brainer for me.

    Dear Penn, would you please consider making a second video about serums but this time for scalp specifically? Like OUAI scalp serum (available on their official site in UK). Ouai seems like an instant magical helper against dryness and flakiness.

  • @db-gb5xi

    The budget dermatologist did a video on hair serums and made a point to say folks should pay attention/read the descriptions of the serums (like vegamour) and not so much the advertising. That most of them aren't for growing hair but rather for scalp health/nourishing or removing build-up. Another esthethician channel, Go See Christy, has recommended the Dr. Sister eyelash serum (it's pricey) but she says she has noticed growth for her lashes.

    Hi, I wanted to add my personal experience with Calecim advanced hair growth serum. It is based on stem cell technology.
    I am 60. I had thinning all over and more so at the crown and temples.
    I started using the serum twice a week for the 1st round of 6 weeks. (Dermastamp and serum) My hair fall reduced substantially. I thought I saw small hairs along my part, but it was too early to tell.
    I decided to do the next round of once weekly application and am at the 3 month mark. I have about 2 to 3 inches of new hair growth wherever I part my hair. My crown has filled up and I dont look bald ! My part looks dense now while it used to be a wide shiny strip before. My temples are improving. While my hairline has receded slowly over the years, I have not noticed any major change there apart from the receding at the part getting filled up.
    I had to wear my hair short since any length would make it look scraggly. I tried letting it grow a bit and it looks great with good volume along the whole length.
    I have decided to go for another round of 3 months. I was anxious about starting it because the reviews were mixed and it is expensive. In my case, it is working well.
    Hope this helps somebody !

      Wow! You did so much detailed work on that blog! Thanks for the reviews on each and sources provided. I have been using Vegamour and receive it regularly through subscription. Not sure it’s working. I’ll give it a little longer. Just don’t want to waste my money. I’ll keep your info to refer to and try them next. 💕

    If I've had microblade work done on my eyebrows quite a few years ago, what product would you recommend? My eyebrows are quite thin & wonder if the microblading may have made it worst that there's nothing l can do to try & grow back full eyebrows?

    Currently nursing which I'm so glad to be able to do and so grateful for my body for but I'm wondering if there are any counterindications with prostaglandin and nursing, I don't remember?

      There are contraindications for most products while nursing because they absorb into your skin. I would read the warning labels on everything. I'm an Aesthetician student and we aren't allowed to do any treatments on pregnant or nursing women outside of waxing.

    I have a question. I get what's left of my family members Latanoprost ophthalmic solution 0.005% . Can I use this for hair growth? And could I get better results used in conjunction with a microneedling roller?
    BTW, I just found you from Justin Hickox. I'm sure glad he recommended you. I ❤❤❤ your channel and blog. I learned so much in the first 5 minutes! Thank you!

      Awww! Thank you for being here!
      I’ve used left over latisse on my scalp, I see no reason not to except it’s expensive and doesn’t go far but if it’s leftover I say why not?
      Interesting experiments going on with latisse and microneedling hypopigmentation (white areas lacking melanin). It seems that latisse MAY be able to bring pigment back to the area.
      The reason I mentioned this is I figure if it is OK to microneedle the skin with Latisse then it should be fine on the scalp. Definitely just watch for irritation though as always. 🩷🩷🩷
      I’m going to thank Justin!!

    I think I will try using straight tretinoin Rx on my scalp. I have noticed increased hair growth around my face as I use tretinoin on my face once a week.

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ok just watch for irritation! They add (happy head) a weak steroid to their compounds with retinoic acid to mitigate irritation so I imagine straight tret might irritate your scalp (so just be aware 🩷).

    Dear Penn you didn't mention anymore what happened with Calecim that you were supposed to try... any idea of it works? I am confused which one to get for the season hair loss. Thank you

      Hi! Sorry, I updated inside a few videos (I just didn’t make a dedicated video for Calecim).
      It definitely helped! No doubt the area I tested with calecim showed amazing improvement. I would like to do an isolated test but I can’t give up my revitalash foam and grande hair serum 🤔

    I’m curious about the studies on Tret. When I tried it my hair fell out in gobs. It was frightening. After a significant amount of time (& fall out gad subsided) I tried retinol. Same thing happened. Round 3 - retinol alternatives…same thing happened. I have resided to the fact my body doesn’t like them. 🤷🏻‍♀️
    So, it is interesting to me to hear these claims that it can help with regrowth. 🤔

      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is reallllly interesting! So sorry that was your experience! Studies don’t matter much if you know something doesn’t work for you, right?!
      Thank you for sharing, I’m going to look in to what happened to you and see what I can find!!

      The hair does usually fall out and then there is a regrowth period.

    Hi there. Are y still using the Granda serum in conjunction (alternating nights) w the foam? If so, do you find that it is working? Or do you think one is giving you more benefits over the other?

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do still use both.
      I do think they’re working- although it’s still a little early. It takes a few months + to START to see new growth, faster growth and density. I definitely feel like my hair is falling out much less. I also feel like it’s starting to grow faster 🤩
