Murray, I have tried to watch other campervan videos on TH-cam about Scotland but always fall back to yours. No clickbait nonsense and an actual Scotsman for once to show off our beautiful country 🏴 Keep the camper and Munro bagging videos coming 👏🏻😆
I didn’t see that coming from the title. Never considered someone would do that. Really sorry for their loss and appreciate their effort to lay their loved one to rest but jeeeeeeeeeeez.
Just visited Perth and area was very good love it the inch Park and high street absolutely nice town had a very good wine bedside the town 😉 and nice hike up there what a weekend 😁👌
Sorry but I saw the funny side of you having someone's ashes over your rucksack, keep up the good work, your channels the best advert there is for Scotlands beautiful countryside.
Sorry but that made me chuckle, having someone's grandad all over your rucksack. Having our ashes scattered on a mountain is something many of us would no doubt like to happen but not quite like that. Hope you managed to eat your Scotch egg Murray, lovely hike too. Cheers.
Amazing views and another lovely video thank you Murray. Will have to visit it one day soon. Lorne sausage, black pudding and red sauce, cannae beat it :) Shame about the scattering...folk seem to leave all sorts everywhere unfortunately..
Been away from Scotland 26yrs, and every time you mention Scotch Eggs or Lorne Sausage, just makes my day. And to see in this episode the frying of Square sausage with Black Pudding was excellent. Keep up the great show..well done “Steaming Boots”
Wonderful video as ever Murray. Who’d have thought you started your walk as a four, became a two and finished it as a three! 🤣 I do love your whistling kettle. Reminds me of my Nanna, it’s my lasting memory of her, her whistling kettle. Thank you so much for sharing your wee trip with us. Cheers Dave 😃⛰🥾🏴
Loved this, Murray. The deer in silhouette, the valley views, wee bit of snow, sunstars, and some history as well. (Perhaps not the surprise at the summit.) The way you present Scotland's beautiful mountains has me loving your country more and more.
Another fantastic video Murray. Lovely to see your wife and the dogs out enjoying the mountains with you too. Lexi has such a sense of adventure, she never seems to tire for such a wee pooch❤️🐾. The unpleasant surprise at the top, not what we were expecting😳. We have lost many loved ones ourselves, and appreciate that it is important to scatter ashes at a place that was special to that person, but we can't understand why they would be placed in the summit cairn rather than scattered in the wind or even buried in the earth 🤔. Anyway, it didn't seem to put Lexi off her sausage rolls!😆🐾. Fantastic video as always, loved the deer on the hillside in the evening🦌👌. Thanks for taking us along😊👍
Another lovely video Murray your dogs obviously love the hills as much as you. 😊 I've never tried Lorne Sausage ...will make a point of trying it next time I'm up in the Highlands. 😊.Lovely to see your wife with you on this adventure. Thankyou both for sharing your family time in the hills with the doggies deer etc ....😊🤗🤗
@Scotland's Mountains Nah. I usually agree with you on most things Murray, but give me links every time. Maybe I have been unlucky in the butcher, but Lorne sausage is just mingin! Love Glas Maol though. Another of my home mountains.
An enjoyable video ,maybe apart from the incident on the top...great views and great walks for the dogs..must be great to get back to the van and have some food...Best wishes to the boss and yourself, many thanks
Very entertaining video as always Murray although I am starting to fear for your arteries! I better not tell you I have found an all day breakfast scotch egg with runny yoke which makes a cracking wild camp breakfast!
Wonderful video Murray and I have to agree with your standpoint about the ashes. By all means take them up, but do scatter them properly. Anyway, still looked like a fantastic walk to do a quick up and down. As always, take care and stay safe.
Hi Murray , absolutely great wee film as usual ( ashes aside, agree with you on that one ) Great news for me is my better half has started showing an interest in a camper and we are renting one for a weekend away so hopefuly she enjoys it and we can go to the next stage of acquiring one🤞 Once again thanks for taking us along with you on your outings Atb Brian
Another classic video Murray. The things we find on mountains is incredible from gloves to socks but I've yet to find ashes. It was nice to see the pups and your wife enjoying it as well. I've still to do the Glenshee munros and really need to tick these off preferably this year as it's been a long time coming. Great video as always mate and look forward to the next one.
Another great video, and agree with what you said about someones remains being there . although it's personal for them and their sadly departed relative it should have been left in way that respected others as well,I'm sure they didn't think it wouldn't impact on other lovers of the area
I sat on a pile of ashes like that on the top on Blencathra in The Lake District... I was the same and felt lost for words that it was a possibility... Your supposed to let it blow nicely in the wind I thought haha..
I think (from comments here) it quiet common but I think scattering is preferable to dumping them over a small area (although I am assuming it was unintentional). Some useful information from mountaineering scotland on this too which I added in the description:)
Aye Murray we have already discussed the issue. As for your navigation from the summit… it is 200degrees from the remains of granny mc glumphit then 319 degrees from uncle jimmies remains to pick up the main path… who would have thought the final resting place would have been the sump if your indesit washin machine😂
Sorry Murray ,but ketchup on black pudding 😮. Brown sauce all the way. I actually seen an ashes spreading ceremony at the top of the Cobbler a few yrs ago. Its probably more popular than we think .
Ashes are a relatively common sight here on the Lakes hills.... I'm like you....I respect that someone wanted their remains on a favourite hill... but scattered not piled in a summit shelter. TFS cheers Alistair 👍
I do understand your feelings about the ashes. But to take a positive, if there is one, they were like.y the ashes of somebody or maybe a dog, that loved the hills and the outdoors. Somebody had the respect to put the ashes there. But you are right, more thoughtful scattering would be better. Another fine video, thanks.
Enjoyed the video as usual Murray. Trying to catch up after our holiday. It's nice to see you and your wife together on a trip. A nice find that you knew about was the pillbox. The little fire that you had which you mentioned in one of your video's, i can remember the name of it. Could you please let me know what it is and where i could purchase one. Look forward to seeing your next video. Atb Tim.
A different and quite enjoyable video Don’t you wish you had your dog's energy I like how the deer were lined up on the mountain checking you out The ashes…oh my… Take care and watch where you sit🇨🇦❤️🎒
I thoroughly enjoy your videos, Murray, which have motivated me to get back into the hills after too many years. Inspired by your latest video I have just returned from a very enjoyable ascent of Glas Maol in perfect weather conditions with not a soul in sight. This route is quick, easy and perfect for a half day/evening stroll. The climb from Glen Isla via the Monega Pass is also excellent but is longer and has more of a wilderness feel to it. A bike is useful to save some time at the start/finish. I share your distaste for piles of ashes on summit cairns although I do understand the urge to leave the mortal remains of a loved one on top of a favourite mountain. Perhaps a better compromise would be to allow them to be dispersed in the breeze.
It’s a fantastic half day from a lofty start 👍 I really fancy heading up from Isla too :) agree with your later points Len 👍 Thanks for watching Murray
DiG a hole in the ground with a little shovel to make a little firepit, then just cover the pit with gravel in the morning after its cooled down, No damage done
It’s an increasingly common issue. Turned up about a dozen during a week in Glencoe Glen Nevis area doing photography, so not necessarily on summits, more spotting views points and then finding someone was there before you and had nt left just footprints.
May not have been deliberate. I've a picture of some knackered grieving relative accidentally pulling out the wrong poly bag for their lunch and finding the scattering had done itself. Hope the deceased has the last laugh and multiple interesting travels...
I once found a relatively fresh human poo at the summit cairn shelter of Ben Hope…🤢 great fun explaining to the 2 people that passed me on the way down that it wisnae me…💩
Absolutely love your videos, Murray. Edited brilliantly, and they make me want a VW van even more. I only wish that you'd name the hills, location, or area in the title or description.
Shame for the dead person and all that but for Christs sakes, if you must dump ashes on the hills, at least scatter them properly. As you said Murray, that is an unpleasant surprise.

Just lovely. Few days in the wilderness to charge the battery's.
I didn’t see that coming from the title. Never considered someone would do that. Really sorry for their loss and appreciate their effort to lay their loved one to rest but jeeeeeeeeeeez.
On a bit of an upside, if the person was a hiker and adventurer, you’ll take a tiny bit of them to many lovely places in future!
That’s a good point Erin 😂👍
That's a very nice thought
I came to say exactly this! ❤
Different landscapes between steppe, meadows, mountains, snow and deer show ☺👍🙏
