US expresses concern about footage of Israeli executions at al-Shifa but slams Hamas

- White House spokeswoman Jean-Pierre says the US government has not verified footage documenting Israeli atrocities, including apparent executions, around al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
“It is deeply concerning if it’s true. We are reaching out to Israel’s government to get more information,” she told reporters. But she went on to blame Hamas, saying the Palestinian group was using the hospital as a base.
“We also have to call out Hamas here. They are operating out of hospitals - out of hospitals. That’s what they’re doing. They’re embedding themselves in the civilian population,” Jean-Pierre said.
State Department spokesman Matthew Miller echoed Jean-Pierre’s statement, but he added that Israel’s campaign at al-Shifa underscores US advice for Israel to create a plan to bring stability to Gaza.
“It’s not enough to just clear certain neighbourhoods or hospitals or any other geographic areas or buildings of Hamas. They need to have a long-term, sustainable strategy that is not just a security strategy but also a political strategy,” Miller said.

You're ignoring the decades of systematic oppression, humiliation and apartheid the Palestinians have endured, being essentially invisible to the rest of the world. Not to mention that Gaza itself has been blockaded and has been under siege for the past 16 or so years. This whole "Hamas started it first" argument is BS and you know it. A hospital only loses its protected status if it no longer operates as a hospital and only operates as a military site. It doesn't lose protected status if it is still an active hospital, even if there are militants inside.
There is not any evidence of militants being inside the hospital. The Hamas militants did come to an area outside the hospital to fight the IDF, who was illegally attacking the hospital - again. There is a LOT of evidence of Israelis slaughtering people (including patients) INSIDE the hospital.
If there are injured militants in the hospital who are unarmed and receiving treatment, they are off-limits. Think of the hospitals in Tel Aviv with injured IDF soldiers. Same rules apply there. You cannot just killed them in cold blood. Also, watch some videos from Hamas (Electronic Intifada channels has some) of Hamas attacks on the IDF. After the attack, some videos show Israeli military evacuation helicopters arriving. They are well within range of the Hamas fighters, but they don't fire on them. More than one video shows this. It appears to be their pattern to NOT fire on these civilian helicopters, as I have not heard Israel ever announcing one that has been shot down.
If there are armed militants inside the hospital who are there and who are NOT defending the hospital from attack (again ZERO evidence for this - only more unfounded Israeli claims), then- and only then - does the hospital lose its protected status. EVEN in that case, the response CANNOT be wholesale slaughter. The response must be a proportionate, military one. The exacting wording of international law might be different, but these are the main principles.
