11:10 I think a great way to buff the Rifle would be to make its reload speed faster when you hit headshots.
Would make sense for a marksman weapon whom's design revolves around precision, range, and long reload speed.
Would reward skill since the rifle is 100% precise (without taking into account ping, but that can be somewhat mitigated by skill aswell)
There could be different multipliers depending on what target is headshotted. A zapper is slower and bigger, so easier to headshot than a runner, bomber, igniter or shambler, so headshotting a zapper would benefit the reload speed less than headshotting a runner (tho idk why you would spend around 10 seconds reloading just for that)
Those multipliers could also stack. So if you headshot multiple in one shot, your reload speed is even faster than if you only headshot 1.
There could also be a streak mechanic. Meaning if you keep headshotting at least 1 zombie for each shot (higher for shamblers if 1 is deemed too easy), you get a higher reload speed buff. (With a limit to not make it too op, but shots where you get alot of headshots would be rare anyways, shamblers wobble and their ai is made in a way so they don't align perfectly most of the time)
I'm barred from suggestions, so feel free to suggest this idea, but crediting me would be nice.

-Vardo (Depending if you have a shit sapper or sth but Seamen mostly would just counter the crowd control)
- Copenhagen, if you have good aim / good Pc and not a shit one (Based on the video shown)

Man if I had a discord account, I would instantly go the the G&B discord server and ask them to add a permanent effect which could only when you shoot the mock gun which is where you break your shoulder bones and have a immovable arm which makes you only able to use a Sabre or hand axe for the rest of the game (this is realistic because it did happen with British sailors who used it, even bubbles said it in the shop)

I mean. Rifle can be used in 2-3 ways. Either a escape card. Or if ur gona main your gun. Rifle is a VERY GOOD GUN. But it has to be used properly and on proper maps. Only half of the maps are usefull.... for the rifle. This video is somewhat biased but is very good at explaining why I, a "rifle main" dont use it very often.

I am a mobile player myself and I have to that point played only on mobile since my PC is broken. I have 80+ hours in G&B and I think I can say that rifle is very good when playing on mobile. Especially when I snipe the bombers that can just obliterate teammates that arent careful enough.
2fore2 made a video about the rifle, now i wont get anymore hate when i say the rifle is subpar 😅.

It is pretty useful in saving grabbed teammates that are too far too reach and its high penetration allows you to almost always free them. However the nock gun can work just as well but then again its for the seaman so the rifle is basically line infantries version of the nock gun
Bad idea: Smokescreen
Skirmishers were historically used to snipe and cover the main army behind them with smoke so why not do the same here and slightly slow down shamblers a tiny bit like the sapper's caltrops when shamblers walk through the smoke, it would also give a more supportive role for the rifle because of that horrific reload and walking speed penalty
that is indeed a bad, like the rifle is meant as a backline shooter, so youll just end up hurting yourself and your teammates by stopping visibility, like this idea just conflicts with the core mechanic of the rifle being a backliner
Normally skirmishers were the first ones in battle and were as said used to do the first blow and make a smokescreen, plus if they do add this stupid idea (which is almost impossible they would see this) they would probably add a setting for smoke

The rifle fits my coward playstyle sometimes, but I sometimes do a frontliner with officer.
I see the rifle being one of the stronger options for the Alamo map when it comes out.
Melees won’t be too viable so the bayonet is near useless, the accuracy helps a lot for sniping bots from afar, and most importantly, 15 penetration will actually be relevant as enemies marching towards you in formation go in a COLUMN.
As a good mobile player who is ALSO a front liner I love the rifle since sometimes I like to use it as a side arm for times where there are huge hordes I know I can’t deal with and because I’m not a gun main it’s very handy since carbine isn’t a very good sidearm for me musket’s bayonet is heavy Saber
I feel like there's just not enough extremely long sight lines which the rifle could exploit
it's not quite the case of "the rifle is bad", but rather "the rifle is overkill"
if there were more maps with extremely long sightlines and possibly more tanky specials which could be an extremely high priority target, I think it's strengths could finally shine

Lots of people don’t like the rifle and personally don’t either, because the range simply just isn’t worth it when most fighting is very close quarters and most people use guns to shoot bombers anyways. The rifle just trades a lot of things that other guns have for range that simply does not matter. (Blah blah blah, yes ik it can be used on Copenhagen but I don’t give a shit)
Id recommend using rifle in tyro, WHEN theres igniters, zappers or bombers. Use it when most of your team is dead in tyro too. Because more zombies come. And tell your sapper to place down caltatrops, because they help rifle.
The rifle is goated in pvp and aint bad in the new Alamo siege mode.

The iron sights also show where you are gonna hit real, like in an airplane: the velocimeter and altimeter show a speed, but it is rarely the real speed and altitude of the plane. This is apliable to all guns when you use shift lock, the square might not be where you hit, because it is sideways, so, the iron sight shows the real place where it hits+the guns in this game are kinda too accurate don't get me wrong, it's not to buff the rifle but it's to remember, ITS FOKING MOSKETS DESIGNED IN 1600-1700, SMOOTH BARREL AND THE BULLET ISN'T MADE TO BE ACURATE, IT IS A FUCKING BALL. But the rifle has only one thing made to be acurate while all other weapons weren't made to be acurate at all (excluding Charveille). You got it
guts and blackpowder devs never fail to release a giant patch a day after 2fore2 uploads so that a good chunk of the video is obsolete
You can combine the weapons and change over each other’s weakness for example
Carbine + Heavy Sabre = Dragoon Class makes you more balance build covering significant more weakness of Offense Mobility and Mobility

Blunder Pistol + Boarding Axe = Scurvy Meat Chopper this is definitely your average meat grinder here this class allows you to clean house than private’s and officers would and the reload is quite neat than using the blunder buss rifle overall overconfident discover the hard way when facing overwhelming hordes with infinite numbers

Brass Pistol + Officer Sabre = Navy Captain this class is really like your lite version of a Seaman with the Brass pistol like the blunder buss you could clean house less zombies stacked no up each other and could kill a zapper if it’s less than hp below 60 the damage is great but worst range when comes to Bombers

The rifle is the only weapon where you get a teeny tiny hammer to hit the cartridge into the gun making it the BEST gun ever
I have an outrageous idea: the sapper axe gets the gimmick of nerfed pickaxe, pickaxe gets shove, and spade only does entrenchment (the sapper axe gimmick wouldnt have the downsides of the nerfed pickaxe, it would just increase damage by 10 every second its held)
Maybe instead of highlighting zappers it could add a magnifying glass from that time like a small telescope to replace the iron sights, highlighting zappers would feel weird(it’d also fit the game for the telescope since it takes place during the 1800s telescopes were made before the 1800s)
Fun fact:
You can use the rifle on endless without swapping classes (aka dying), so it’s like 3 nock gun bullets for the infantry
Personally, unlocking the rifle for me has been like biting from the Apple of Eden. It's accuracy is so good, it has spoiled me. The Carbine and Horse Pistol have become borderline unusable for me, due to their lower accuracy (infact, I'm willing to argue that the Horse Pistol is worse than the rifle).
Smt similar happened to me with the heavy saber, but I now use the saber for consistency against runners (with the heavy saber I gotta roll a 50/50 on whether or not I get to kill them in one shot)
It makes me larp as an Austrian Skirmisher and that is all that matters, I don't care about stats, I care about fashion first, and Rifles are the best fashion for Skirmishers.

I have nothing much to add onto this video since you covered most of it too. Although i will add that this gun is extremely fun in pvp and especially testzone pvp because you can snipe from the other side of the map 🤑

honestly, i disagree. The rifle has extreme power in some respects, and it is mainly an upgrade to the musket, which is already a great weapon. But hey, u go ahead and have ur opinion.
The "Upgrade" being 3 seconds longer reload time and no bayonet for extra damage which is only necessary in specific situation and another very situational scope
Flintlock rifle is one of my favorite napoleonic era weapons, not because their good accuracy compared to musket

I feel like they should add a scope as a utility item that takes up the grenade slot, it would be a easier sight to look down because in my opinion that sights suck. It would also be neat because it make you fully a sniper.

I think for reload, instead of the movement debuff, instead make it so that the gun slows with continuous firing, so the first time u fire, the reload is 12 seconds, but every time after that it increases by .75 seconds, the only way to reset it back is to not fire for some time, maybe it starts by decreasing the reload to 15s first and then it decreases by 1 second every 5 seconds of break so that in the 15 seconds you reload back at the 12s, so a tiredness system
I think they could also just increase the damage and penetration it does. Might help a little.

I'm a seaman mid line player, which mean I can switch shooting from back line to mele on frontline. I have a horrible aim so the ADS of the rifle doesn't help me and I agree with you that the rifle shouldn't kick the player out of ADS when firing. Gosh, I see a delay between kick out ADS and firing and that is just weird and I think all map doesn't need that long distance accuracy since they're all have building and corner and turn

The rifle in my opinion is a great weapon, but a thing I hate with it is of it's long reload. But this is what the Austrians and Danish had to deal with against the Prussians with their Bolt Breech loading action Dryese rifle. 😅

every weapon in G&B is quite viable however ninety perfect of the time using a blunderbuss instead a nock gun is a good idea because the nock gun is usable for very specific uncommon situations and the blunderbuss is very specific for way more common scenarios however the new boarding axe kinda is just bad
just choose the carbine if you want the rifle, it basically has the same accuracy
The rifle is ok, it's best used for long range picks but other than that it's a shittier musket, the bayonet is what makes the musket superior to most weapons apart from nockgun and etc, but it needs a fifer to be good (its unbreakable btw so hi)

I`m pretty sure they nerfed the reload speed compared to the real life version of the rifle. So they technically already nerfed it.
I just use it for the memes and firing sound/reload sounds or i just forget to unequip it
