I felt that. Hope you recovered well enough to ride again

I recovered and was riding gently after 3 months, it’s now been 6 months and I’m almost totally recovered. It did wipe out most of my summer riding this year. Thank you for watching.

Ouch! I crashed doing MX 20 years ago and dislocated my AC joint: it still gives me trouble!

Thank you, it’s now over 18 months ago and I’ve healed well. Breaking 3 ribs between the shoulder blade and the spine hurt like hell but if we play we know the risks. I’ve ridden the same trail many times sense and still feel a little uncomfortable on it. Ride safe

Oh wow. I know exactly that place. That was really brutal. You landed really hard!

Mixture of bad luck and sloppy riding when a tiny difference and I’d have been doing exactly as you show, pick up and ride on. This happens, it part of the piece we pay for al,the fun we get.

I know, about 12 years ago I have an engine quit and I landed in a field between Stanstead and Luton but walked away without a mark, even flew the plane again.

Ouch!! That was a sudden heavy off, and that’s almost the exact same thing that happened on my AT. For no obvious reason, she went down… hope you’ve mended now?

I mended over a couple of months but it hurt like hell on the evening I fell. All part of the sport, not the first time I’ve broken something off a bike.

Hi, I was thinking of buying a tw125 before I watched this video :-) Having already broken my collar bone before I’ve no wish to do so again...obviously the bike you were on is considerably more powerful than a tw125 but I’m wondering if the fact the tw has a much wider rear tire that it might make it easier to tame? I guess you also have less distance to fall also. I live in an area in ireland where there are lots of forest trails and bog roads so that is what I’d like to explore. Thanks.

Hi, You may have seen that I've also got a TW (the 225 but same size and weight as a 125). The TW is much easier in hard going, not really because of the wide tyre (which helps a little) but its low and light and mine is geared very low. With a very low first gear you can paddle along with both feet through the swamp. Where the TW is less able is at higher speeds and especially with aggressive bumps or steps because it doesn't have the long travail suspension. With the low height and weight its difficult to drop the TW for all but the smallest riders, overall its good fun and under rated by many, just be careful if your a heavy guy then the front suspension may bottom out too often, could try slight heavily fork Oil but not a lot more can be done. It a great first bike for off road because you can gain confidence and build ability. With a TW125 don't be tempted to gear it for higher speed, if anything go down a tooth in the front sprocket (or even two) and accept it will be slow on the road (comfortable only to 45 or 50mph) but much better in the mud. Where in Ireland are you riding? because if you're in mud and boggy woodland (which there are lots of) them the TW will be great, its will be outrun by others along the forest roads but not by much. I enjoy my TW and the worse the ground conditions the more it suits the TW and I've no problem riding trails alongside lots of 250 and 450 class machines. I have an Africa Twin, A DRZ400 and a TW225 and will be keeping all 3 because the little TW does some things the other can't. If your ever tried to drag a 900cc bike of mud then you'll fall in love with the TW. I Hope this helps

@@irishflyer6377 that’s great thanks for the info. I’m in Donegal and there’s not really that much open terrain but plenty of bog roads that I’d like to explore. There are also lots of ‘foreshore’ areas that you can access at low tide but that can be very slippery at times....I’ve explored many of these places on a mountain bike but I just don’t have the fitness anymore. I’ll go and have a look at the tw it’s got 27k km and seems quite rusty from photos but ad says it’s running well and has new tyres...do you think 1700 euro is a reasonable price? Thanks again.

@@Fremulshmat I'm in the UK these times but all bikes seem to have gone up during Covid so for an OK running and usable 125 then 1700 euro doesn't sound stupid. These are low tuned engines so 27k Km is not too high but will depend on how well/often its been serviced. I don't know how handy you are but it wouldn't be a big job to strip the frame and repaint it, as you're on the coast just make sure the rust is surface only because if used in salt then it might be more than cosmetic. overall they are a simple bike and basic bits like steering and wheel bearings or chain and sprockets may need replacing if they haven't been done in resent years, these are cheap, especially if you can do the work yourself. Check the wheels, particular the rear, it's a steel wheel and because its wide water can sit on the rim and cause rust (on the right side), if its is surface only then you can easily remove the wheel, clean and repaint but it not easy to find replacement wheels cheaply. Normally the engines are painted black and this chips off but not a real issue. Basic service bits (air filter, Oil filter and plug) are very cheap plus I think they use less than 2L of oil. Check front fork oil seals and that there is no pitting on the fork tubes, he may need to pull up the bottom of the gators for you to see. If it needs tyres Vee Rubber do a good rear at half the price or less of a Bridgestone and for the front you can also use a Vee Rubber OR for mostly off road you can pick for a large selection of tyre intended for the rear of other bikes, I'm currently running a Michelin AC10 120/90 R18 on the front and I like it. if the front break is not doing a great job try some good quality pads like the EBC FA275HH. At 1700 you shouldn't be risking much because if non runners should fetch well over 1000 euro as fixer uppers to guy with the skill, and its not too stressful if you dent it. Good Luck
