Remember he doesn’t know that they we’re going to call roughing the kicker or offsetting unsportsmanlike penalties until after he chewed him out. Everyone was running down the field to field the play OR They were confused as to why Janikowski was in an argument and probably didnt want to give away free yards while having a lead in closing seconds. Good job by his teammates on not taking up for him when they don’t know what’s going on. Best thing honestly is to cool down and escort Janikowski to your sideline so you can win the game (assuming they didnt know the roughing call prior to the announcement)
Nobody saw it because they were doing their jobs running down field. Even if they had eyes on the back of their heads the helmets would block their back of the head vision.
The head butt from 42 at 0:57 needed an additional foul call. Minor, but you don't contact the head for any reason, especially after the play. Borderline ejection. Refs need to be on top of that. It's not a little pushing and shoving. It's a head butt. Ref looked right at it. Called nothing. Ref needs a review.

The issue was it probably should have offset a penalty that won WSU the game. If the penalties had offset, SDSU would have gotten another shot to block the punt or get in field goal range with 25 seconds left. Long odds, but possible.

Just to be clear, the Punter didn't get called for going after the guy he was initially pushing against. He got called for shoving the guy who bumped into him who was also penalized for their actions.
This is the rare situation where the offsetting penalty rule is flawed. The reason being #12’s personal foul afterward. One “barely” unsportsmanlike conduct shouldn’t offset two major fouls. The rule basically means if a punter can get rekt by four people and if he defends himself, everything offsets.
Other players do shit like this all game and the one time a punter stands up for themselves they get chewed out like they just murdered somebody on the field

Apparently we went in the Army at different times. ALL of my Drills acted that way. As a matter of fact, what you saw in this video would have been one of my Drills saying, "Good morning."
It's about sending a message to the players. If they think they can do that and not get yelled at then they will do that on a crucial play that could cost them the game. It just so happens in this instance the game was over

See this is when I agree with coaches going off on players. That kid should have taken the penalty for his team, for the roughing and went and sat down. As it was, they lost the penalty, which would have put the other team further back on the yardage. Sorry for the lack of knowledge on the placement. But, if they ended up at the twenty yard line, the penalty if it's five yards would of put them back to they fifteen.

Kids now days have no respect for the game or their coaches. I’m a Bama fan. And our team is awful. Players have no accountability and they know it. They can gladly go somewhere else and play now days. They have ruined college football just like they did college basketball yrs ago. Not even fun to watch any more.
