However, I HAVE to point out how ironic it is that the “Save the turtle” mask strap covers that showcase various forms of ocean pollution such as single use plastics came individually packaged in single use plastic.
I fully agree. I'm trying to talk them out of wrapping everything in single use plastic, but they themselves only have limited influence as this is how the products come delivered from the different manufacturers.
Correct. Divevolk has all their video lights made by Scubalamp and branded under their name. They are not experts in underwater video lights so it makes sense to work together with an expert in the field, like Scubalamp is.

Hi Mathias, I got my Platinum housing. Waiting for the Xiaomi 14 ultra. I also ordered a selling to us the camera as a underwater monitor. The Sealink came in today but the brackets seem to be for the Max housing. I could fabricate custom brackets. Looking forward to trying this set underwater.
You're right the SeaLink is made to work with the regular Seatouch 4 Max. But you can still make it work with the Platinum version by using the included ball mount to attach the receiver to the screw mounts on the housing and then have the housing upside down on your larger camera rig. It's not ideal, but workable. I'm talking to Divevolk right now to see if they will be making an adjusted version for the Platinum housing. In any case, have fun with your new gear. 😊
@@MatthiasLebo I purchased a neewer universal cage with handle(CA016T). The Platinum will fit in with room to spare plus let me add attachments without relying on the cameras limited mounting points.
Nice, looks good for Albania. Filter holder is still bit difficult to use underwater. Remote control might be even better thank Keldan one as no extra sounds in video.
It feels very nice too, definitely an improvement over the already really good last version. Yeah, the remote control is awesome. Really enjoy using it. 🤗

However, the platinum version might not work as well with the iPhone 16 Pro Max as the plus housing does." What do you think? I like larger metal housing, but I don't want black corners.
I've tried the iPhone 16 Pro Max inside both the new Seatouch 4 Max+ housing as well as the Platinum housing. There are not limitations with the new Seatouch 4 Max+ housing. All works great and there are not issues with black corners or such. The situation on the Platinum housing is slightly different. The iPhone 16 Pro Max works well inside the Platinum housing. The only issue is that if you use the 0.5x lens (in photo mode) with the wide angle conversion lens, you will get black corners. This is not the case in video mode though. So I guess it depends on where your priorities are, photo or video. For me, since I very rarely take photos underwater this is not an issue. We can't say for sure as we don't have the specs of the iPhone 16 yet, but the Platinum housing is pretty much future safe for the next couple years I would say. 😉
If you have an Iphone15 PRO MAX they are recommending to buy the old housing, otherwise black corners will be visible due to the bigger size of this new housing.
Hey buddy, the main difference is that the Platinum fits larger camera modules (more future proof) and it has the lens/filter holder as well as the screws for attaching a tray or tripod already build into the housing itself. With the regular Seatouch 4 Max you need to buy an extra accessory (clamp) to be able to attach filters/lenses or trays/tripod to the housing. Hope that helps and answers your question?

Yeah, I think the new SL50 is a really nice underwater video light and with its power and size very well suited to go along with smartphones. Now it depends on what kind of footage you want to capture as to how many are ideal. If your main focus is macro and close ups, one light will be just fine. If you want to shoot more mid shots and especially wide angle, then I recommend two lights to be able to light the entire image evenly. If you want more lumen, also check out the 12000 Lumen light from Divevolk: bit.ly/4945T6z
I took Divevolk housing and my iphone 15 max pro to dive in Tuba Taha, last month. While the system worked fine and I got some nice videos, my biggest fear was trying to to protect the membrane during the transportation to dive site and then coming out of water, when all photographic cameras are rather mal-' handeled and dropped into a large bucket full of fresh water. The cover provided is simply not sufficient. It is flimsy, it got warped. My heart was always pounding that any minute a sharp object is going to pierce the membrane and I will be out of luck. Please can you persuade the Divevolk to provide a robust covering and spare to be bought in case you lose one or damage one. I am trying to figure out how to protect the membrane in these rushed brutal situations. If I lose this warped one, where to get the spare one. It is a practical consideration which I am sure you have thought about and come across--zafar

Yeah, hopefully they will. But it's great that Divevolk has created this new Platinum housing as it makes the technology future proof with newer, maybe thicker smartphone models/cameras. I don't know anything about the pricing yet. But the Platinum housing and the new SL50 lights should come out at the end of the month (June 2024). Yes, the S24 Ultra fits the regular Seatouch 4 Max housing. I've tested that personally during my assignment in Porto Santo. 👍🏻
Try to be less of a cheerleader and more of a critical reviewer. Omittance of screw in holes on top is a big mistake and step down from previous version. They were useful for all sorts of things including attaching floats. Divevolks should focus on solving neutral buoyancy instead of making aluminium titanic negative thing...

Does the phone screen protector still need to be removed to insert even though the housing is bigger?
Yes it does. The membrane is sill the same (same sensitivity) as on the original Seatouch 4 Max.
