I would love a Blackmagic tutorial for UW video. Thank you for all the great content so far!
Noted! 👍🏻
Please make a tutorial with some tips and trix, also this app allows you to film in Prores 4k 60 fps without an external drive.
Sure thing mate. I’ve added the topic to the list of video to make in the upcoming weeks and months. 👍🏻
+1 on you making a tutorial video. Thank you for all your videos!
i would love to watch a blackmagic tutorial for Underwater photos and video
It’s just been published earlier this week. 😊 Here you go: th-cam.com/video/C1LPzLhz_VA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=v3RP5gIk288FaF0G
a further Tutorial to use blackmagic with an Iphone 12-15 will be great...👌
Coming…👍🏻
Yes, I DID find a new Divevolk SeaTouch4 Max kit under my Christmas tree! It was a gift from my daughter. I'll be using it with my iPhone 15 Pro for some dives in the Florida Keys next month for a video on my @PanoramicTravels TH-cam channel.
Yes, it would be great to have a tutorial on how to use the iOS BlackMagic Camera App!
That‘s awesome mate. What a great daughter you have. 😊 have lots of fun with your new „toy“. 😁
Notes about the tutorial! 👍🏻
Yes please
Already working on it. 😊
I certainly would watch a tutorial on how to use the app underwater.
Thx for another great video. As I'm using the Divevolk housing for quiet a while, it would be very interesting to see a tutorial on how to use the Blackmagic app...
Thanks for your comment mate. Noted about the tutorial. 👍🏻
hello.
A video explaining what configuration it uses for this app and the LUTs would be great.
Thank you so much 👌
Sure thing mate. I’ve added it to the list of video to make. 😉
Very helpful... thank you!
You're welcome! ☺️
Yes please!!! Make the video!!
Noted. 👍🏻
Great, Matías. It would be very good if you would give us a tutorial! And some lut, it would already be 10👍
Coming soon mate! 👍🏻
Please do a tutorial for this app. Thank you in advance.
It's in the planning. 👍🏻
Another great video. Your tips are really useful for improving our uw photography skills. Something that would be really useful is if could show us how to set the correct white balance underwater (Do we need a white board?).
Also something I would like to know is how to use it properly is the focus function. I don’t know if this app solves the problem of the iPhone camera autofocus when there are particles floating on the water. It’s difficult to get good underwater videos when the visibility is not the best, and there are particles floating
Thanks for your feedback buddy. 🙏 sure, I’ve added those two topics to my list of video to make. 👍🏻

Sorry buddy, but you won’t be able to use the Blackmagic Camera app with a seafrog housing. The only underwater smartphone housing that currently supports the Blackmagic Camera App is the Divevolk SeaTouch 4 Max (bit.ly/3nVqDaS), because of its unique touchscreen capability.
Matthias, thanks for your efforts and sharing with community. What App would you recommend for Android?
I think filmicpro is still the best option for android phones, even though it’s not for free.
Further question, why do you use something looks like a dome on your DV and why sould this meets better results UW? 10-30m?
It’s a wide angle conversion lens and it’s used when shooting with the 0.5x lens. Using such a conversion lens minimizes distortion and corner softness on your footage. This is the one I use: bit.ly/3axiUNd
How do you export your large video files after a dive to a external drive?
I have quite a lot of trouble exporting my files to my ssd with the internal files app
Do you have some tips getting the after dive process wright?
I usually airdrop them to my MacBook. It takes some time, but seems to be the easiest way for me.
Nice one, thank you! Question: you say it is your go-to app for filming underwater. Would you also recommend this app for photography?
No, the Blackmagic Camera app is for video only. It doesn’t support photography at all. I recommend Adobe Lightroom for photography.
Thank you for your assessment. I've been using the app for a few weeks on my iPhone 15 Pro, but only above water. Underwater, I'm concerned that the colors might not be good enough when working with natural light and manual white balance without a red filter. All sample videos I've seen so far only feature shots with video light. Even a 15-year-old compact camera can capture excellent underwater shots with sufficient artificial light. But how does the iPhone and the Black Magic Camera app perform when using only natural light, perhaps even in low-light conditions? I would be interested in a test regarding this.
Well, a red filter is kind of compulsory in my opinion when filming at depths of more than 5 meter and not using lights, no matter whether you’re using manual or auto WB.
I’ve done some testing with the Blackmagic camera app with no lights but a red filter on, and I have to say I was very happy with the results. Being able to fine tune the color temperature and tint, really makes a difference and gives you full control over the look of your footage.
So it is my understanding to get the full benefits of the Blackmagic app you need an SSD hooked (for the iphone 16 pro and max at least) are there any cases on the horizon will will let you incorporate an SSD it? That would be a nice evolution to see in cases. I like your case recomendation for the phones, but what would you recomend for us colder water divers that wear dry duits with a double layer of gloves, and touchscreen is not practical? I enjoy your channel a lot!
Not really mate. Using the Blackmagic camera app you can record in ProRes Apple LOG in 60 fps internally, without the need for an SSD. Another great reason why it makes so much sense to use the Blackmagic camera app.
But coming back to your question, no I don’t know of any housing current or planned that will incorporate the space for an external SSD. But the frame rate limitation can be easily avoided by using the Blackmagic camera app as mention above.
Is the blackmagic app for Apple only not for Android?
Yes, it only runs on IOS at the moment.
