Does Texas A&M have MOTIVE to LEAVE SEC for Big Ten?

  • It is no secret that Texas and Texas A&M have a genuine DISTAIN, some might say HATE, for each other. The Aggies left the Big 12 to get out of Texas' shadow before, could a broken promise between the Aggies and SEC create a motive for them to join the Big Ten at some point?

Houston fan here- don't have a dog in this fight and don't care to but given the history of Texas schools and Big 12 controversy/politics, this is harilious. Outside of Texas schools, A&M will forever be a laughing stock in the college world if and when they jump to the Big 10 in 2026 from all the speculations. To the Texas schools who are still in the Big 12, one in the ACC, and one in the AAC, we will be pointing our fingers and laughing at A&M forever.
Now, on to geninue thoughts: if your already in the Big 10 or SEC, why would you hop over to what is basically your rival when it comes to seperating from the other P4 conferences? The Big 10 is amazing and so is the SEC, the games are explosive to watch, the established rivalries, unexpected upsets, and on top of that which is every school's #1 priority: the money is "good." Why would you leave that and try to force something thats not already there? Its weak and pathetic.

    So many things
    1. Texas A&M is a southern school and couldn’t be more politically and culturally different than the Big Ten
    2. Texas A&M is already nationally known. In fact, Texas A&M known globally
    3. Texas A&M cares too much about our rivalries in SEC to leave for a conference where Texas A&M does not have a rivalry
    4. Texas A&M looks extremely weak if they tried to leave when Texas just joined
    5. Texas A&M is already out of Texas shadow. Thanks to the years in the SEC and how well Texas A&M adjusted to the SEC
    6. Texas and Texas A&M talk about each other in their fight songs. It’s nothing new. It just shows our hate for each other on the field
    7. Texas A&M left the Big 12 because Texas spoke on Texas A&M’s behalf to the PAC-12 without first consulting Texas A&M. The reason why Texas optioned to stay in the Big 12 was because ESPN gave them their own TV network. For Texas A&M that was the last straw. Texas A&M used its political influence to leave the Big 12 despite the pushback in the Texas state legislature
    8. The Texas A&M student body has already asked the best source for Aggie athletics about the Big Ten. He confirmed that there was no truth to any rumor regarding the Big Ten. If you want to ask him yourself, look up Billy Luicci with TexAgs. Facts over speculation
