@CleverDjembe Jeez. Honestly, guys. You think the human body can hold up to Emerson speed for decades? C'mon. We're still bound by the laws of physics in this universe. I'm amazed that Keith could play for as long as he could with the intensity that he did. I'm smiling for the man.
@Simona050 Keith's injury does not appear to be carpal tunnel- he is not really using the 4th and 5th fingers of his right hand, and that is related to the ulnar nerve. I recall reading in interviews that back in the 90's he had nerve transposition surgery up near the elbow, and that would definitely involve the ulnar nerve. Given that, it is quite amazing that he has been able to adapt his technique to work around this problem.
It's called "The Keith Emerson Band featuring Marc Bonilla", no more. published in Aug. 2008, it's the return of the glorious days of ELP. How could it be better?
Nope....not carpal or ulnar nerve surgery. I know Keith's cousin's lawn man's pool boy and he said Keith punched the wall during a dispute with a girlfriend. Too bad, whatever it was it appears he has lost much dexterity in that right hand. It is good his meaningful works are saved (which were most all of his works.) No one better, long live the King Emerson.
Vardan - Check out the video of the Keith Emerson Band with Mark playing Lucky Man. It’s absolutely fantastic. Mark’s singing and guitar work are really great, but Keith’s instrumentals towards the end are incredible.
This duo definetly have my vote. Keith and Marc, cool guys and amazing musicians!!!
Keith could do with 3 fingers what others could only imagine using 5 fingers . And it was like 5 or 6 in the morning!
Miss you my friend.
This is great!!!!!!!!!!!! I dig this duo more than any of Keith's other recent non-ELP band. I'd love a club tour.
Absolutely Brilliant…STILL!!
Amazing performance,thanks.
Emerson : the greatest keyboardist ever...!!!!
I really enjoyed this....thanks for posting it. Emerson is my favorite Beatle...
Great music is great in any language!

The Power of Music the international Language
I ve seen videos of him playing many years ago and he grabs at his hand obviously in pain even then. love his music.
Even in that state, 2008 was another good year for Emerson's performing. Sadly, one year later he fell down again
Ultra fantastic
@Simona050

outstanding medley performance. interesting how his entire repertoire can be summed up in five furious minutes. for this, domo arigato
The host is SO cute bopping in the background like a total fanboy. Love it.
True Genious
I think he´s called Mark Bonilla...
He´s in Keith´s current band
geniale!! grande marc !!! emerson big musician!!
Ketih Emerson - Tarkus 1:14
LOL at the host grooving at his desk @ 3:41

what's the song playing as the background music?
Who is the guy with him, Greg Lake?
Mark Bonilla.

@jtomasik
HAR HAR. Good technique never leads to hand degeneration. Yes, I know Emerson had a medical condition, not necessarily bad tech.
Saddens me to see his hands in that cond.
Kinda surreal, but very cool.
I think Keith has had some surgery work or something on his face, he looks much younger on this video, even better than on the '90s :O
keith has carple tunnel syndrome
I really think it was more than that. Carpel tunnel can usually be reversed with a 15 minute procedure. Not sure though.
