I have always wanted be a doctor but got disheartened and gave up on it and I just want to thank you in helping to me to be inspired to continue on in the process of becoming one.
I'm starting med school in a month (6-year MD program, it is my second degree, first was law) and I'm quite nervous but so so excited at the same time. I just found your channel a few days ago and I really enjoy your content. Thank you :)
I'll be doing GEM next year, I would love to do urology, I have this passion for it , heavily interesting to me, the level of detail, helping people, making a difference to their lives, rewarding yet challenging and the use of our critical thinking and analysing skills to help formulate a treatment plan with the MDT is what I'm looking forward too!
A video on communication skills would be amazing if you fancied doing it Sarah! (Biased because I'm a speechie haha!) Fab video as always, it's so great to see your enthusiasm for your job🙌🏼☺️

Wow so I want to ask you something the first day you went to the hospital how did you fill and the first time you had to make someone fill better and is medical school hard
My mum once told me during a dinner time conversation that how she extracted a stillborn baby who did not survive due to breech birth. That's when I was back in primary school. I vaguely remember she mentioned fouling smell because that lady had to travel quite a long distance to the hospital my mum worked at. This is 1980s China we are talking about. Prenatal screening in rural China was not very good. I can't even remember what the moral of that story was now, I think my mum might have wanted to tell me how much China has changed over the years. Both my parents work in medical research these days. And this, Sarah, is partly why I have never wanted to be a doctor. So when you have kids, please don't tell them horrifying medical stories when they are young, especially not during dinner time. But for some reasons I really love stories from medics though! I think helping people when they are most vulnerable is a very admirable thing. 😊

OMG MY hair is like that it stays curly for two minutes and I have people telling me later on in the day that they like my straightened hair 🙂 gonna try that pin tip thanx ! And GORGEOUS HAIR BTW! Have u tried hair spray while having the pins in ? X
Susany Amal I feel your pain 😂 and that’s a great idea about the hair spray, I will try that next time. I also find putting a bit of mousse in when it’s wet helps it to hold its style but I didn’t do that this time
Great content Dr. Sarah ... I have an idea if you don't mind ... I have searched a lot about how can international doctors get a residency training in UK and sadly I couldn't find a good video about that .. On the other hand, there are tons of clear and detailed videos about residency training in US ... I wish that you British doctors can focus more on this area and try to explain the process and maybe interview some doctors who have gone through the process. Thank you .. Ali, Saudi Arabia
