Say what you want about the old leaf springs and torsion bar suspension but don't forget the General Lee making all those jumps on Dukes of Hazzard! Try that with a HELL CAT Charger or Challenger
Nice job 👍 Wish it wasn’t a “off brand”, I like mods but think it should have stayed all Mopar just because it a Charger ! Still good it’s didn’t get crushed !👍👍
As a Ford guy who drives a Dodge magnum RT, I have to say... I Love IT! Pretty much a foxbody mustang! And u can coyote swap it for around 4500. I don't think you'll be able to fit a HEMI in there
That’s awesome. I did notice that that the cyclone wheels set out to far and I know why I own a 99 crown Vic and I own an 06 if u put the 99 wheels on the 06 they set out a ways. They had a deeper dish wheel on the 98 and 99 model crown Vic’s either way I love it. And I wanna use my 06 cause it has a 3.55 posi trac rearend and lower miles..
It must be a lot of fun to drive it! I'm sure it rides and handles a hell of a lot better than the leaf spring / torsion bar suspension it originally had in it!
Most likely a Charger, as long as the vin is in the body and that being the likeness of the vehicle seems like the most logical choice, projects like this where the vin is missing or completely custom or one off builds will require a VIN assigned to them, that is as long as all the paperwork is in order, laws vary depending on your location.
@@robs1052 Im thinking crown vic plated,to have a charger that was dead like this one was, would have been off the road for some time, meaning it would need to be inspected to get it plated for the road, and with vic platform it would never pass our inspections,so my guess is its plated as a crown vic because the crown vic looks like it was a driver before the project and would have been plated for the road.
I don't think that's right. The 1st gen had a wheel base of 114.4 , 2nd gen had wheelbase of 114.7. That's a 2nd gen he used. A town car has a wheelbase of 117.7, compared to the Charger's 117.0. Seems like it would be better to use the Town Car.
Over 400 Chargers were destroyed in the stunts for Dukes of Hazzard the good news the fury police cars which were not only hideous designs were not well made many were rejected as not fit for duty by police departments when new. That was good news for the Chevy Caprice and Ford Crown Victoria as they were much better suited to the durability needed for round the clock non stop use.
One huge advantage that Mopar had was that manufacturer was alone in offering a true police pursuit car in the Calif market, with the 440 Magnum from ca 1972-73 up till 1978. This is dope, dream goal of mine, all black body swapped 68-70 charger hellcat
How well do the tires line up in the wheel wells since the crown vic is 114" wheelbase and the charger is 117" ?

I've dreamed of doing a body swap on this car to something reliable & modern rwd for a Long Time
Did you shorten the body to fit the crown vic or did you lengthen the frame?
Nope. It works better on the older gen crown vics tho

The charger is 3 inches wider so I'd think not
