    Once again, watching your artisan level vision unfold is amazing. Questions not only answered, but demonstrated. Love your work.

    Words can not describe the level of craftsmanship you put into these cars. I absorb every second, and I’m not building anything like this.

    Ummm...I need to tackle larger more difficult tasks in my life. Remodeling and building an addition on my new home seems kinda archaic comparatively. Love following your process and how you explain at a level I can begin to comprehend. You are truly a gift sir. Thank you so much.

      I have been remodeling my homes for 40 odd years. Nothing archaic about that. If you are not careful bad things can happen there too.

    Your skill is amazing. I love the way you explain the issues and solutions, but there's no way that I would ever attempt a body swap. Especially after seeing all of the issues that your three cars have had. Thanks for taking the time to document your work.

    Having the 68 Charger body in the background makes the build even better. Has he mentioned what color it will be? If Don changes his mind, it can stay here...;) As usual, incredible work.

      While I could definitely could use help from time to time I am used to working alone and having a helper breaks my concentration because I am thinking about tasks for the helper and not concentrating on the job at hand.

    Do you happen to remember what the chassis weighed bare like in the video? Thinking about swapping a 65 Belvedere on a hellcat

    • @SteveMirabelli

      The total curb weight before removing the Challenger body is 4,400 pounds. I don't know what the chassis alone weighs but these are super heavy cars.

    • @boileranimal101

      Yeah, they’re definitely heavy and that’s why I was curious what you got it down to and what the total was finished. Anyways, I do appreciate the reply and you do some beautiful, high quality work!

    Do you use any structural adhesive or foam sound deadening in any of the gaps around the welds? Is it necessary?

      @@SteveMirabelli do you have any suggestions on good places to look for shells? I only know one barn yard in my area and their closed when their website says open 🤣 dream cars are a 68 charger with modern challenger interior, and a viper, father grew me up on cars and kinda surpassed him, teaching him something new every here and there. Love it. Did you go to school for this?

    • @SteveMirabelli

      @SRT_LUNATIC no I sure don't. I have seen a few decent rollers on Facebook market place for about 10 grand recently which is a decent price these days. I worked for 25 years as a body hanger for Hendrick Motorsports.

    I dream of doing this with my 69! But…..with a Tesla Plaid! (No offense!) the wheelbase, width and length and even height is within a 1/2 inch! Why not?!

    Would a Dodge Challenger subframe be the same length as the 1968 Charger body?

    • @SteveMirabelli

      The wheel base of the Challenger is a little over 116" long. The 68 Charger is 117" so for all intents it is about perfect.

    • @richardbrowne3641

      @SteveMirabelli I guess you can widen the rear wheel well opening 1/2" from the center on both front and rear sides of the tires.

    • @SteveMirabelli

      @@richardbrowne3641 Yes but more importantly the rear wheel opening has to be re shaped towards the back at the top because of the way the independent suspension moves back and up when the car rebounds. A lot to consider.
