But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

This is the easily the best metal frame diy frame I’ve seen on TH-cam. Easily looks like it’s came from one of the big manufacturers and also thanks for the dimensions.
Also I couldn’t give a rats ass what your playing like all these other knob jockeys in the comments. Looks like a cool demonstration to me!

That's clean. I just completed my own recently. I used SuperStrut bars and the dedicated hardware. Custom rigs are always so cool.
Thank you SO MUCH for including the blueprints. Ive been looking for a simple design that I can build from aluminum tubing and a brazing torch. I just hope that brazing will be strong enough.

(I dont have a welder to make one from steel. Plus aluminum is lighter).... 👨🏭

This is sick! It wouldve been nice to add place for monitor stand to make monitor closer to you. Maybe mounting with a monitor arm onto the rig.

All this work and setup and then you play from outside of the car. You should have made a helicopter sim setup and controlled the car with an RC controller.
Unless your rig comes complete with actual motion then external view is way better than internal since you can see far more accurately what the car is doing in terms of balance. Cockpit view makes it that little harder.
isthatujeebus If you have a wheel with feedback you can get used to the 1st person view with zero problems. The 3rd person view is much easier to control but it’s mostly because the view is so much higher that you can see the whole corner from the beginning to the end and it’s easy to see the fastest line while in 1st person mode you see what a person driving the car would see and it requires more skill to go through corners.
isthatujeebus personally I prefer cockpit view or good view. For some reason I get a better feel of the car and in gta v I crash a lot less while weaving in traffic while being in cockpit view
What's the point of driving a beatiful car when you can never see it. Secondly, for Horizon games third person is better because of better view in online and playground games.

You need to change out the carpet for a checkered flag pattern! GREAT JOB!!
My only objection to this is the ergonomic stance of the ride, seat should be lower to the ground and the pedals a little further, other than that good job. Currently building one as well! Cheers

Using a BMW sport seat makes a lot of sense.
More comfortable than most of the race seats and fully adjustable. As supportive as you will ever need unless you have a full motion rig or really want to squash your up into a formula position.
Cheap. We paid £80 for an immaculate F87 seat from Ebay. Cloth and manual adjust.
Fitted to a Sim Lab P1x perfectly.

I built one in mdf and is great to play, it was made fot logitech gt at first, then for g27, gt5 and gt6, great job

Nicely done so much cheap, long as you can weld and have basic fabby skills, probably would recommend some braces and a 5mm sheet metal base plate, for obviously upgrading to a direct drive wheel, My next build 🏁💯👍

This is what I was looking for. Thinking of making a cockpit for my self because the ready ones are quite expensive for my blood. I'm making content in Forza 4 with T300RS GT and the same shifter as you.
Now that you have testing for a longer period of time this setup would you change something or its perfect for your needs?

What a fine piece of work, neat af. Only thing is ( i get the ethos od straight arms on wheel hehe) your shoulders will hurt really bad with that kind of stretch. Try sliding your seat closer to the wheel for about 90 degrees in elbows. Pozdro666
