great advice, the main thing that helped me was to start out with such a large circle that you are comfortable with and slowly shrink it down as you get more confidence. each bike has it's own quirks, I was amazed riding my friends bike that was same as mine once but it felt different enough I thought something was wrong with it, over confidence is not good either. I v'e been riding since '68 but still take same caution each time, don't want today to be the last time

I dropped my bike in practice a few days ago, bent the shift pedal past the shift shaft (luckily was able to bend it back out enough to safely ride home) and snapped the clutch lever in half. At this point, I'm no longer afraid of dropping my bike, I have the proper bike protection ordered and coming in the mail and that drop kind of lit a fire beneath me and sort of inspired me to really get out there and push outside my comfort zone in the low speed stuff, no longer only giving it 70%ish because I'm afraid I might "break my bike". Love your videos man!
P.S. your cornering videos got put to good use when I stupidly went into a corner a bit too fast, I was trail braking so I was able to not panic, smoothly and progressively apply a bit more brake pressure and reduce my turning radius - I honestly think I would've got some unintentional dirt-riding practice if I hadn't been watching your videos and practicing your teachings!

This video just came at the right time. Even though I've been riding for a few years and have a full motorcycle licence (I'm in the UK) I still overthink and get scared to do a proper U turn. Most of it is just me chickening out mid turn so I end up walking the bike. I will be practicing in my nearest carpark, thanks! ✌🏼

However, even with ankle wrapped, thumb splint, etc I still practice. But, I’m gun shy to commit to a full lean because the front end is heavy. But to hear that you kept going on your basically new Fatboy after dropping it is encouraging. Again, thx for sharing...it’s encouraging. Peace.

your scooter videos helped me a lot. I just bought a Burgman 650 and it's a whole new world of riding for me. Aside from grabbing the rear brake to slip the clutch the throttle has a lag and it's a bit chunky at low speeds (not sure if it's because it's old or just Suzuki sub par quality). I'm not the slow speed king but I can handle my FJR with no issues at all in a parking lot. The Burgman is not so straight forward. So I watched your scooter videos to get some ideas on how to get better.

What I was thaught by a good teacher is to focus on turning your bars to full lock and then add lean to tighten your turns. A lot of people get really excited when they hear their floorboards scraping but they only have the bars turned halfway to full lock. So the tightest turn is achieved by lean angle and full lock handlebars turns. What are your thoughts about that Greg? Agree or disagree and are they both equally important?

I'm not worrying about dropping my bike. I'm worrying that after I drop it it'll start leaking fluids despite the crash pads and I'll have to pay for transit. 😆 No breakdown providers cover motorcycles where I live. 🤷‍♂️ Above said, I've never dropped my bike and have no issues with tight u-turns. You have to complete 5 tight figure 8s to pass the exam here. I did drop the riding school's MT-07 two times when practising, though. They said "this is what it's for".

I´ve lernt a hole lot from your awesome videos, and have overcome my fears from the past when a bad tutor could not give me feedback on the most basic uturn knowledge -look where you are going!!! Dropped the bike over and over again and just barely made it throug the exame. No problem now! Over here (Sweden) the uturn test is expected to be done at 3-6 km/h so it´s quite different from the high speed turn you are practicing here, but in my opinion your exercises is much more applicable to "real life" circumstances. Now, my suggestion is that begginers and other "scholars" get themselves a cheap practicing bike to train the skills, instead of panicing over dropping a 10.000 dollar bike!!! It´s much more relaxed and fun, belive me! After having having the soooo useful skills, just pass it over to another beginner! Thank you ever so much for your super tutorials! -shut up and practice!!! :))))

Twisted and hyper extended my knee when I put my leg down as the bike was falling. What happened? I was practicing slow maneuvers and the bike started falling to left. I went to catch it by putting my leg down. As my weight shifted left, this pulled my right arm and you guessed it, pulled the throttle causing the bike to spin. any chance you could demonstrate this with a tenere 700?
reason i´m asking is, i previously had a f650GS dakar, and was able to turn much easier on that one, than on my new tenre. but i kinda refuse to blame it on the bike, but my skills and hesitation level , since you sit much higher on the tenere, than you do on the F.
so, i might be lucky and learn to do this, for it is something, that i practise a lot, but also realize , i have a great fear of trying so hard, as i did with my older bike.
do you have any tips? or will this in the end tend out to be a thing of developing a stronger will to really try hard and...send it ? 🙂
Greetingz, and big thanks for all these videos,
    Marius

@@MotoJitsu it did, it did, but i guess i appear to cling to my excuse for some stupid reason ,-)
(like, see, there was no crossbike with its seatheight ;-P )
regarding the website, i love the idea to pick a course, to practise this explicit with a trainer.
the course would require me to fly over to USA from germany, but anytime , if i get a chance to fly over, i´ll book one. (no joke !)

Order protection at the same time as your new bike so when you pick it up it's ready to go and you won't have too much anxiety when practicing slow speed maneuvers.

I used to be a perfectionist about everything. I used to care about what everyone else thought about the things I did. Here is the thing... we are not friends nor are we family. Your advice is only accepted if it is requested. Since I know for a fact I did not request your advice. I only listen out of respect. Push that respect any further as if I owe you anything might just leave you in an awkward space. Try not to make this awkward.
