As a teacher here from Florida, I am so very proud of those students for standing up for what they believe in. You students are very special and are a direct reflection of the excellent instruction you have received from your educators. Teachers everywhere are very proud of you.
My son and I were there. I was moved to tears. The students organized this whole thing using facebook and word of mouth. It was amazing. My daughter is hoping to attend HAMI next year. We were there to show our support for my kids' future high school. The Hamilton kids/speakers were so articulate! These are our future leaders. Why isn't the state investing in what it needs...EDUCATION OF OUR YOUTH! It was inspiring. Make some phone calls people!
I attended Hamilton High in the late 90's. Hamilton is probably this best school in Los Angeles. This is my first time hearing about the possibility of them closing down my beloved school, this has driven me to tears. I think this would be on of the worst mistake, and could greatly affect of community. Hamilton is a school where the creative can hone their skills, dancing, music, and art. I truly hope this school can make it, and turn out more positive people in this society. Class of 2002
Right on Hamilton students! Right on to the folks who posted the video! If you are down with what you saw Hamilton students doing, search "Two teachers and a mic." Check out the song and help us stand against these stifling cuts to our public schools! Get on the phones, y'all!
Graduate of 2004 My teachers were so awesome , I transferred because the previous school I went to didn't care about the students they cared about money. I remember my first week there at Hamilton in 2003 as a transfer student ,I'll tell you something it was an awe inspiring experience I'll never forget my teachers ( Mrs. Iannacone from video production, Dr. DeLarkin from Psychology & Spanish ) those were just some of the people who made teaching fun, not to forget to mention the students there I transferred in 2003 only to become a member of the class 2004 because I wants to make sure I got the most of my experience
Please let there be a class of 2015. I'm an 8th grader and i just found out that i got into the Music Academy. I was told by my band teacher, Mr.Taguchi (yes the same one that taught at Hamilton for 15 years), that the music program would still be there next year. Let us hope this is true.
@carltonbauheimer we missed one period. and a lot of these kids are good kids who turn in their work and are very responsible. we just wanted to have our voices heard. we didnt trash anything we never cameoff the sidewalk we did what we set out to do which was protest.
Save Hamilton! This schools means so much to so many, Congrats to the current students who are Fighting like true "Yankees" Good Luck Adell Traylor class of 1997
pft. these kids didn't walk out of school to protest anything. they walked out of school so they wouldn't have to go to school, take tests, or hand in their homework. give me a break. I hate it when people take kids being slackers and try to turn it into some sort of political activism to suit their own ends.

Whatever, Hamilton sucked.
In "CA State budget cuts effecting their magnet programs", "effecting" should be replaced with "affecting" just fyi. ;-)
