Nutn, great review, as always. I bought my Acies many years ago when they came out, with ZDP steel. What drew me to this knife was that the blade shape reminded me of another blade you're in love with, that I bought of the secondary market place. The legendary Microtech Amphibian.

Can you explain how that knife is better then a cold steel recon 1 or American lawman. Anything, type of steel, strength, weight, cutting ability, utility, lock strength, cost, anything please ? Just noticed, a perfect 350 dollar knife that you have to stick skate board tape to be able to grab it out of your pocket. Awesome.
"Can you explain how that knife is better then a cold steel recon 1 or American lawman" No I cannot other that style and form. But for functionality, your choice is smart.

I am unable to checkout in the big cartel store. Hopefully this gets fixed. Also, hoping the shark patch comes back in stock. Long time viewer. Hope all is well.
Just look at the steel and material used, fit and finish, as well as the size of the stop pin and pivot. those are the weakest points of a folding knife. If it all checks out, it doesn't matter where it's made.
It is just an o.k. design but wow, I'm just not seeing any return on investment. To me it looks like an $88 kershaw and just very basic construction. I'm sure it's a nice knife but there's just no way I'm spending my $375 knife budget on THAT knife with those materials. Always love me a KRV tho!

Per your recommendation, Nutn, I've carried the original Cold Steel Recon 1 daily for ten years, until Christmas 2019 when I received the new version Recon 1 as a gift. Ridiculously expensive for a pocket knife. Very little supporting the blade in a sideways direction. Will freeze to your hand in the winter. Warm weather poser’s knife.
