Honey would be speed, Ray would be fly, and Mighty would be power. They're all more obscure and underused characters who have interesting real life backstories. Honey might be considered a "non-canon" character since she is technically a animal version of a Fighting Vipers/Virtua Fighter character (can't remember which one it is, I think it was FV), but she could still work.
When I was little, mighty was so mysterious to me because I had only known the modern sonic characters so when I saw mighty for the first time, I thought he was so cool. His design is so unique and I fell in love with him immediately. I wish they brought him around more, but I lost my shit when they added him to sonic mania
The trailer for Sonic Mania Plus implies that Mighty and Knuckles enjoy each others' company, while Tails is not too fond of Ray... probably feel the latter being obnoxious.

I have this idea for Sonic Adventure 3, where Mighty and Ray would join Knuckles in his own story as the Speed character (albeit a tanky one). So the stories would be arranged like this: Sonic & Pals: Sonic, Tails & Amy The Hooligans: Fang, Bark and Bean Team G.U.N: Shadow, Rouge and Omega Island Defenders: Knuckles, Mighty and Ray Team Fate: Silver, Blaze and Zero (real identity Infinite) Chaotix: You already know
Mighty has become my 6 year old son's favourite Mania character! I hope he reappears in future games. I first saw him on advertising for Chaotix although I never played the game as I didn't know anyone with a 32x.
I really like how he’s portrayed in the Mania adventures shorts on TH-cam. You should show them to your son if you haven’t already. There’s like 5/6 and an extra Christmas episode they’re really cute and well animated.
I was introduced to Mighty for the first time since in Archie when he fights werehog sonic. He was so cool in that comic, he became a favorite off mine instantly
If I remember correctly, Sonic had dealt with Eggman several times before the first game, but Eggman really wasn't much of a threat before then, and it was one of these prior meetings where Sonic gave Eggman that nickname, and Eggman absolutely loved it.
I'm loving the fact he's getting a nice presence in merchandising lately. Grabbed that action figure up as soon as I saw it, as not to have to pay scalper prices. Not so much Ray the Squirrel, unfortunately. Haven't seen anything with him quite yet. And I appreciate that Mighty and Ray were created to be animals that haven't been used much by most anthro cartoons. Though the creator clearly never heard of a certain 1960's cartoon where a flying squirrel hung around with his moose pal.
This is quickly becoming my favorite Sonic channel! Mighty is soooooo underrated, I wish he and Espio where used more in the games. Also Mighty's inclusion in Sonic Mania, turned the game from an A++ to S tier for me. Love the content as always Johnny, keep up the great work!
Mighty always gave me the weird vibe of being a main character not like the rest of the cast but like sonic himself, despite being a character that fell into obscurity. I always wanted to make like a story where hes the main character or something but idk how lmao
I want Mighty and Ray to always stay relevant in the Sonic verse from now on. One of the big reasons why I want Sega to keep making more classic games since Iizuka wants them to stay in the classic timeline though seeing modern Mighty and Ray in the games would be sweet!
Mighty is an pretty cool character, and it’s nice to see him get some respect. I love this channel, it feels quite relaxed compared to other youtubers and the content is always interesting and well-made. I wasn’t aware of Max the Parrot; it seems like this series has an endless wealth of obscure lore and that’s one of the things I love about it
I was first introduced to the Chaotix via Sonic Heroes, so when I found out about their first official outing in Knuckles' Chaotix, I always thought Mighty felt out of place. I chalk it up to not only being so familiar with the Chaotix as a trio but because his design was so much more plain in comparison to Vector (who's built very differently from the average Sonic character), Espio (being a ninja chameleon), and Charmy (an insect Sonic character that even now is still very uncommon, as well as being on the smaller side). I definitely always make the connection of Mighty being paired up with Ray, sort of as an alternate Sonic/Tails duo.
16:43 if mighty is in a ball, he also can't get hit by projectiles 18:49 "egg mans birthday" and "Amy's new hobby" are technically modern stories because they have better shading, and mighty makes a cameo in Amy's new hobby, so we have seen a modern mighty
I remember his bio from the Chaotix game stating he was an explorer who just happened to come across the events happening in the game while on his travels, Even though he wasn't a member of the Chaotix initially, he effectively became an honorary member after fighting on the same side with them, same as Knuckles. I attribute Mighty never being around mainly because of his main interest in travelling and exploring and thus he never stayed in once place for too long. This is why Ray is searching for him in the Mania shorts since Mighty is mostly a loner and out of sight, even to his closest friends. Mighty is my favorite character and I will always think of him as part of the Chaotix. I hope I get to see him again sometime in the near future, preferably with his wall kick intact.
17:08 Just wanna say this, most of the super forms in the games are considered Non-Canon. They give characters like Tails and Mighty, non-canon Super forms cause it makes every character viable to play. In Sonic3&K, Tails was the only one who didn't get a Superform(via Chaos Emeralds) and it made him less fun and more frustrating to play, since by the time you get to Mushroom Hill, the game expects you to already have all the Chaos Emeralds so it ramps in difficulty. Canonically only like 4-5 characters do have Super forms : Sonic, Shadow, Silver, (maybe)Blaze, and maybe Knuckles.
Blaze has a burning form with the Sol emeralds so it's not really counting. Mecha Sonic got a (temporary) super form making it the only machine to achieve this form and the only character to get it from the Master Emerald. And I agree, Sonic 2 made Tails literally useless by being flightless and superless.
@@ikagura Oh really? I always just counted her Burning Form as just another superform like sonic, since she's his counterpart from a different dimension and all. I can see where you're coming from, since it's not really a tradition superform gained by Chaos Emeralds. And I completely forgot about Mecha-Sonic lol
i hate this stupid decision by Sega to make only male hedgehogs become super, being that, in the old lore of chaos emeralds, anyone who has all 7 emeralds could use their powers and transform, I don't remember anything saying "only male hedgehogs can go super". This is just an excuse to make only Sonic transform into Super at the end of the game and save the day.
@@MariaAparecida-gp4bq Good thing the Sonic lorebook written by Ian Flynn and licenced by Sega debunked all that nonsense. The Hyper forms, Super emeralds and more are all canon, spread the word! Yet another reason you shouldn't WoG at face value (especially when it's an on the spot interview Vs what actually happens in the games/explained in the official guidebooks). More folks should be more aware of "death of the author" tbh rather than taking their word at face value.
I believe that Mighty is the strongest Classic Sonic character, and here are my reasons. 1: Mighty can resist the Badniks’ attacks with his shell. 2: Mighty has been shown to make several mistakes with his strength. (Ex: punching Ray feet away by simply giving a hit on the shoulder in Sonic Mania Adventures, smushing a sandwich in his face in an attempt to make it shorter in the 30th Anniversary Comic.) 3: In Sonic Mania when hitting spikes, he doesn’t always lose his rings. Instead, he sometimes jumps up, looking down, making a weird noise.
I’d think Mighty would win. I’ve never seen Knuckles make mistakes with his overwhelming strength. He always intended to do something. Like throwing Ray into the sky in Sonic Mania Adventures. If Knuckles hasn’t made a mistake wi his strength, then he can control it. But if Mighty makes mistakes with his strength, then he sometimes can’t. Plus, in the trailer of the Sonic Mania add-on, Mighty pushed open an elevator.
Mighty became one of my favorite characters especially because of his Archie portrayal when he became a wonderer looking for his sister, and his close bond with Ray is always heartwarming to see consistent to today. Maybe one day he'll get that official modern debut i sure would love to see it
@@JohnnyVector It's really cool when an obscure character from the pastgets a fresh new chance at life in the modern day. He seems like he'd be a great character for us to see in a new game.
6:55 I don’t think Mighty’s inclusion in Chaotix could be considered last minute as he appears in even the earliest known prototypes of the game which were roughly 5 months before release. Good video regardless.
I feel like that extra character slot could've easily had Ray replace Tails as Mighty was for Sonic. Maybe for a potential Christian Whitehead Knuckles Chaotix port?
I really wish Mighty, Ray, and a bunch of the other more forgotten 'Classic' characters would show up in the IDW comics. It did a good job fleshing out the Deadly Six (who are also kind of underloved) so I think if the IDW Sonic writers were allowed to add characters like Mighty, Ray, Honey, Bean, and Bark it'd be a nice addition to the world they're creating. I know the IDW comics take place in the 'modern' timeline after Sonic Forces, but it also kind of does it's own thing, plus I think the modern/classic split is really limiting (like every other bloody mandate they have, looking at _you_ 'Sonic cannot show strong emotions' rule)
Mighty's always been my favorite sonic character of all and I'll always be happy to see,and if he ever makes it to 3d hopefully so can others like Honey the cat
I would like to believe that Sonic, Mighty, and Ray were orphans and adopted together, making the three brothers... with Sonic being the middle brother, Ray the youngest, and Mighty the oldest.
I was really surprised that this character never made it to the modern games like Amy and Knuckles. I mean the Chaotix got a chance to make a comeback in Heroes but I was shocked that he wasn't with them. Another sonic character that's animal feature includes rolling in a ball Similar to a hedgehog? What a missed opportunity to bring his character up to date.
Mighty is essentially Sonics oldest rival. When developing the first game, the designers had to chose between doing an armadillo or a hedgehog. In essence, Mighty was feuding with Sonic at the conceptual level.
17:15 yes the super form is a function of invoking the Emeralds to turn thoughts into power as established long ago. The super form is essentially when a good nature person desires the power necessary to defeat the threat to their loved ones. This was reinforced by the 2nd recent Sonic the Hedgehog movie when Robotnik got his own super form, as he desired the power to rule the galaxy. Sonic 3 established that a strong enough surprise attack can knock the emeralds out of an individual in super form, reinforced by the movie when Knuckles smashes Robotnik from godhood back into the Computer Age. It wasn't a surprise attack, which I think is more a testimony to Knuckles' amazing strength of will as opposed to a plot hole.
there's an arcade by me with a segasonic cabinet actually! as you already guessed it was hard as fuck to play with the trackball control but it's cool to have experienced the real deal in person anyway
While I haven't cared for Ray too much, Mighty always had a special place in my heart. Despite his immense strength and defensive abilities, he's in full control of them and is actually a pacifist. He's quite popular in the fangame community too, most notably being one of the three initial characters in Sonic Megamix, getting a cameo in Sonic After The Sequel, as shown in the video: his own hack where he's the main lead instead of Sonic, and one of the earliest Sonic Hacks to feature any sort of custom coding, Sonic Gaiden, had two playable characters in Sonic and Mighty. Compared to Ray who only really started popping up in fan projects more after his appearance in Mania Plus, Mighty has always been around and, at least in my eyes, the mascot for Sonic hacking as a whole. Also he has his own plushie now so that's absolutely awesome.
I loved him in megamix. His gimmick of sheild storage and swapping along with being the only character that can utilize the active abilities of them is just very interesting to me.
Great video I have some ideas on how Mighty could have worked if he was in the 2000-2022 era. Design: the Archie post reboot design is perfect so I would use that the only thing I will add this to make his shell with more armadillo like. Personality: Mighty is a very kind person however he is very over protective of his "Brother" Ray. He likes more darker places infact him and Ray live in a cave. He's also very social Character traits. .He doesn't like to fight but we'll do it if it's for a greater cause like helping his friend or if he's forced to. . He does not like to explore the world he would just like to stay in one place. . He'll do whatever he can if a friend needs it Likes: .Food .Technology .Friends .Dark Places Dislikes Strong light Doctor Eggman Manipulation Killing Friends .Sonic: after Sonic's help save them from Eggman Island he View Sonic as a friend even though he disagrees with Sonic's lifestyle. .knuckles: Knuckles is mighty's best friend as he can relate to him as he can relate to him a lot he also feels like Knuckles can understand him even if they do have some opposite traits. Ray: Ray is like a brother to him he cares a lot for ray as they have been friends since the beginning. However do to ray being one of his greatest bonds if anything were to happen to Ray Mighty anger would release. Vector: he and Vector are good friends in fact him Mighty help Vector train and get him into shape. The only thing by these not a fan of his vectors greed. He's not against vector want for money he just really doesn't like when Vector does something scummy to get it.he we'll call Vector for this Charmy: mighty's one of the few characters to not get annoyed well mostly. He understands that Charmy just a child and this is a phase and he will get over it when he grows up Espio: he and mighty our Rivals like in Fleetway do they definitely do not dislike each other to the same extent that they do and that universe. Espio views Mighty as too nice and he wants to prove that he is the most valuable member of the chaotix so he envy him. this also leads him to being mad at Mighty when he doesn't use his full power. Mighty doesn't really understand this. But it keeps fine with the Rivalry what he doesn't like about Espio is his will to kill people he views as evil. This could lead into some arguments.when they put their differences aside they are friends and they work really well together. Doctor eggman: like all the other Hero characters he doesn't like a Doctor Eggman for pretty obvious reasons Character development: Mighty character development is him joining the chaotix. The reason why he didn't join the chaotix was because of his overprotectiveness of Ray and that wanting him to get hurt. However overtime he won't learns that Ray is competent and he shouldn't be as overprotective as he is Abilities Super strength And his shell can block a lot of things His strength can also be increased if he's very mad Appearances . Sonic Heroes on a team with Knuckles and Ray .Shadow the Hedgehog . Sonic Rivals and Rivals 2 . Sonic Generations . Free-rider since this time Vector we had a team .Team Sonic racing. Those are my ideas what do you think
The take care of yourself art got me (18:34) Sonic: get enough sleep Amy: take a break from social media Tails: be kind to yourself Knuckles: PUNCH A HOLE IN THE WALL ray: journal about your day Mighty: OPEN YOUR WINDOW AND SCREAM INTO THE VOID
I really like these character retrospective videos. I thought Transformers was the only one with these types of videos like the ones by Chris McFly, but it's great to see more fanbases, including Kirby, do these videos as well. I was wondering if there were some Sonic fans that would be willing to do retrospective videos, so I'm glad I found your videos.
Mighty is one of my favorite sonic characters, what got me most exited that thanks to mania plus not only has he appeared in more classic media but toy companies like Jakks pacific gave us our first plush and figures of the armadillo along with Ray soon. It’s basically became a dream come true for me
I’ve never actually played a game with Mighty in so I also mostly associated him with Chaotix because I was an avid fleetway Sonic The Comic reader as a kid

His main antagonistic is Bowser (King Koopa) Sonic Lore **Pulls cigarette out of the packet in his pocket and lights it** "So you wanna know who knuckles is eh? My parents were stationed in Italy from 93-97 and I played SNK games and Segasonic the Hedgehog in an arcade there. When I moved back to the states I told my new friends about the games and they all thought I was lying because those games weren’t big in the states. The Internet also wasn’t super prevalent. Seeing the games in mame and online later in my life made me feel a little less crazy.
Yeah, Italy was one of the most prolific arcade manifacturer in the West. Many companies, from Capcom, Midway, Konami, Namco and Sega, hired the factories from the North-West regions for cheap and quality labour. I recall that one of the Sunset Riders' character, Cormano, was supposedly to be called "Hermano" (brother in spanish), but the manifacturer wanted Cormano just like the lombard city of Cormano. Those days were wild, now it's a miracle if something decent get produced in Italy other than the Arduino.
My introduction to Mighty was through Sonic The Comic so it certainly came as a huge shock to see him both absent and unmentioned in Sonic Heroes. That said, I do like the concept of Sonic having friends that pre-date Tails and the others. 2:21 - Got to say, I find it quite funny how... 'enduring' Vector has been as a character. One of the earliest Sonic series characters that Sega seemed insistent on getting included in the series in some way... perhaps that is why Vector is the go-to character to fill or replace a slot (like in Sonic Free Riders or Team Sonic Racing).
My Headcanon for Pre-Tails Sonic is that the hedgehog acted more like his STC self at the start but once he met Tails, he mellowed of that into the Sonic as we know him as.
I Actually disagree with the theory that Mighty was just there to replace Sonic in chaotix the reason why is because chaotix was most likely going to be a game about Espio the Chameleon. It's that Espio was the main character of the game until his role was later taken by knuckles. Also do you notice something similar with Migthy, vector, and Charmy all of them already existed in the franchise Vector: he was originally going to be a part of Sonic's band and his design was finalized in 1992 Charmy :he had appeared in the Sonic manga. Mighty: he appeared in the Sega Sonic arcade game (Also there's also potential chance that vector and mighty appeared in the Sonic manga). So a reason why I think they were in the game was because second wanted to put more characters from the Sonic Manga that in the game. As for why Knuckles is there it could be two things 1. Knuckles was more marketable 2. They wanted to show that this game was 100% related to Sonic and his world. As for why Mighty Sprites are recolor of sonic it's most likely because of two things. 1. Laziness 2. Mighty in Japan has no abilities the super strength aspect of him was add by the west. So they just reused Sonic's ability of wall jumping. That my theory.
Awesome video! Wish we could get a best of both worlds situations and have a modern and classic Mighty, and maybe vise versa for others. I'd love to have 'Modern' Mighty even in a background walking by, or better yet, a talkable NPC! Same goes for other characters, I'd love to see Modern Sonic square off against Bark, or even Fang for a game. Or vice versa, have a Classic!Silver/Shadow, etc etc appear.
Maybe in spin off titles like Rumble or a Dream Team-like game. Sega has this slow as molasses decision making before introducing new and old characters in games.
I think I saw SegaSonic the Hedgehog once during a trip to London. Can't remember if I played it but Mighty and Ray always stuck with me. Liked choosing him in Chaotix cause he was most like Sonic, obviously. Was cool to see him return in Mania
Mighty in my opinion is my 2nd favourite character 1st being tails. I’m happy he was actually able to play as in “sonic mania” And yes I know you can play as him in other games
Interesting video, hadn't heard of Ray, but Mighty is my 2nd fave Chaotix member, after Vector ha. Do love some sonic lore as there's plenty that passed me by
Mighty and Ray was definitely a character I really wanted to know back when I was a child, since I wasn't able to play Sega Sonic arcade. Chaotix did help me out, so did the comics too. While the comics did took a strange route due to Ken Pender's fault, I still liked his redesigned version in the Ian Flynn's reboot. Sad that he need to stay as a classic universe's resident. I mean, I never knew he was planned to be in Sonic Heroes with Ray and (surprisingly) Metal Sonic until Did You Know Gaming represented it. I was able to contact with the former Sonic Heroes writer whether he wanted to see him appear in its remake or sequel through Twitter, and answered that he definitely want to see it if there's anybody who'll make it though. Don't know whether we'll see him again in Origins, but I'm glad Sega still remembered him as part of Sonic's family. And even it's already impossible, definitely would love to see him return in his Modern design.
First the restriction of "no classic era characters" would need to be removed. Ian Flynn had Sonic reference Team Hooligans in #3 and Sega immediately told him to stop.
This is so interesting, this difference between Japan Mighty and Western Mighty. So many large media properties nowadays are obsessed with maintaining brand synergy, sometimes to the detriment of each piece of media they synergize, so the fact that this characterization of Mighty got to be so different in the 90s is really something to me.
In the fan fic I am making (Will most likely be an out line, as I like making these for fun.) I consider Mighty part of team Chaotix, with Ray. The Story is basically Sonic Forces slap over a warrior game (Dynasty, Hyrule). Also I think Videos on G.U.N. Emerl and Gemerl would be vary interesting. I would love to hear how they are portray in the comics.
Just thought about something, since Generations made two separate versions of sonic possible, we could see a team of Classic Sonic, Mighty, and Ray in a game.
Heh, it would be funny that if Sonic ever did dimension hopping, he came across the unused characters from the internal contest that decided Sonic. I’d imagine them playing go fish or sudoku in the void or something.
Fun fact: recently a mighty version of sonic.exe was made name mighty.zip. he appears In a fnf mod called d-sides (which is a remix version of regular fnf) and he has a purple shell rather than a red one (though there is a version made where he has a red shell). In someways this helps further segments mighty's popularity in the sonic Fandom.
I thought Mighty was fine, but he's too similar to Sonic and Knuckles in many ways to stand out compared to other underused characters like Fang. Fang also benefits from being a villain, so there's plenty of opportunities for Sonic Team to sneak him into a new game as a surprise boss (even if they never take those opportunities).
What if I told you Vector is even older? He comes from the "Sonic the Hedgehog Band" concept sketch, making him just as old as Sonic conceptually. Wow! 🤯
I thought Mighty was one of the concepts for Sonic before he was made. I also forgot that "scream into the void" thing, that cracked me up. Since we can't get Shadow in Sonic Superstars, really hoping we can get Mighty at least since he seems to be a "classic" exclusive character.
I never understood why Sega wants some characters to remain “Classic Exclusive”. That just limits storytelling and interaction possibilities!
Especially when it comes to Fang The Sniper. He's one of the most underutilised Sonic villains, and it's a shame, because he's one of my favourite characters.
ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE!!! I KNOW THAT ONE!!!
And Arthur being an armadillo if you count Arthur's show
@@HexPerplex wait i thought arthur was an aardvark
Ah, yes, the Mighty Armadillo. I'm so proud of SEGA for bringing him (and to a lesser extent, Ray) back from obscurity.
This is quickly becoming my favorite Sonic channel!
Mighty is soooooo underrated, I wish he and Espio where used more in the games. Also Mighty's inclusion in Sonic Mania, turned the game from an A++ to S tier for me.
Love the content as always Johnny, keep up the great work!
honestly it would be neat to have a story showcase Mighty and Ray as Sonic's oldest friends in some game.
I like to think Mighty is allied with the Chaotix and helps out from time to time but mostly goes his own way and does his own thing
I wasn’t aware of Max the Parrot; it seems like this series has an endless wealth of obscure lore and that’s one of the things I love about it
I'll say Mighty is always a core Chaotix member to me, always.
16:43 if mighty is in a ball, he also can't get hit by projectiles
18:49 "egg mans birthday" and "Amy's new hobby" are technically modern stories because they have better shading, and mighty makes a cameo in Amy's new hobby, so we have seen a modern mighty
honestly my favourite moment will always be the Sonic Mania Adventures, not many can go toe to toe with Metal Sonic in straight up brawl.
It was an awesome moment. Probably the best bit of characterisation Mighty has had.
MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER OF ALL TIME! Thank you so much for making this! I would love it if you could do one of Ray too! :3
Anyone else think the animation and expressions on the characters in segasonic the hedgehog are wayyy ahead of it’s time?
No, yeah, i was questioning the time it was made because of how advanced and 3 dimensional the animation was, SEGA back then was amazing.
@@ikagura I'LL CRUSH YOU
i hate this stupid decision by Sega to make only male hedgehogs become super, being that, in the old lore of chaos emeralds, anyone who has all 7 emeralds could use their powers and transform, I don't remember anything saying "only male hedgehogs can go super".
(Ex: punching Ray feet away by simply giving a hit on the shoulder in Sonic Mania Adventures, smushing a sandwich in his face in an attempt to make it shorter in the 30th Anniversary Comic.)
3: In Sonic Mania when hitting spikes, he doesn’t always lose his rings. Instead, he sometimes jumps up, looking down, making a weird noise.
I'd love to see Mighty and Knuckles brawl to see who'd come out on top
I’d think Mighty would win. I’ve never seen Knuckles make mistakes with his overwhelming strength. He always intended to do something. Like throwing Ray into the sky in Sonic Mania Adventures. If Knuckles hasn’t made a mistake wi his strength, then he can control it. But if Mighty makes mistakes with his strength, then he sometimes can’t. Plus, in the trailer of the Sonic Mania add-on, Mighty pushed open an elevator.
Finally someone made a video about Mighty! I love him so much even though I know little about him. Thank you for making a video about him!
Thanks Johnny for covering Mighty, he's my second favorite Sonic character! The first being Sonic lol.
Mighty became one of my favorite characters especially because of his Archie portrayal when he became a wonderer looking for his sister, and his close bond with Ray is always heartwarming to see consistent to today. Maybe one day he'll get that official modern debut i sure would love to see it
I'm actually a newer fan of the series and I love being able to dive into this kind of lore.
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed hearing about Mighty's past
15:23 That Uncle Mode DLC was fantastic ngl
I feel like that extra character slot could've easily had Ray replace Tails as Mighty was for Sonic. Maybe for a potential Christian Whitehead Knuckles Chaotix port?
I'm happy, he's getting more recognition I once felt like I'm the only one, but now I know I'm wrong.
Let it forever be made canon that mighty has two dads and one of them is a fucking dinosaur.
I admit a dinosaur is just as cool as a dragon🤩 also you’d have say it’s cannon in a different zone for Fleetway
Gay mighty parents and I'm here for it
Mighty is such a cool-looking character and he needs his own spinoff
He was my favourite member of the chaotix in the fleetway comics. Really wished I kept editing better care of them and still had them!
3:28
Mighty’s body is shaped like his shell! XD
We need him in the modern games
Might is one of my favorite sonic characters and doesn't get the love he deserves
Hope you enjoy this look into one of your favourite characters
I did thanks for that
there's an arcade by me with a segasonic cabinet actually! as you already guessed it was hard as fuck to play with the trackball control but it's cool to have experienced the real deal in person anyway
He's also very social
Character traits.
.He doesn't like to fight but we'll do it if it's for a greater cause like helping his friend or if he's forced to.

He's not against vector want for money he just really doesn't like when Vector does something scummy to get it.he we'll call Vector for this
Charmy: mighty's one of the few characters to not get annoyed well mostly. He understands that Charmy just a child and this is a phase and he will get over it when he grows up
Espio: he and mighty our Rivals like in Fleetway do they definitely do not dislike each other to the same extent that they do and that universe.
Doctor eggman: like all the other Hero characters he doesn't like a Doctor Eggman for pretty obvious reasons
Character development: Mighty character development is him joining the chaotix. The reason why he didn't join the chaotix was because of his overprotectiveness of Ray and that wanting him to get hurt. However overtime he won't learns that Ray is competent and he shouldn't be as overprotective as he is

Super strength
And his shell can block a lot of things
His strength can also be increased if he's very mad

Amy: take a break from social media
Tails: be kind to yourself
Knuckles: PUNCH A HOLE IN THE WALL

I really like these character retrospective videos. I thought Transformers was the only one with these types of videos like the ones by Chris McFly, but it's great to see more fanbases, including Kirby, do these videos as well. I was wondering if there were some Sonic fans that would be willing to do retrospective videos, so I'm glad I found your videos.
Mighty is one of my favorite sonic characters, what got me most exited that thanks to mania plus not only has he appeared in more classic media but toy companies like Jakks pacific gave us our first plush and figures of the armadillo along with Ray soon. It’s basically became a dream come true for me
I have watched several of ypur videos and I really enjoy your documentations on Sonic characters, keep it up
From what I recall, mighty was originally one of the original mascot ideas before sega went with a hedgehog.
Mighty was always my favorite Sonic character....well, at least since '95.
I’ve never actually played a game with Mighty in so I also mostly associated him with Chaotix because I was an avid fleetway Sonic The Comic reader as a kid
Mario Lore: Mario lives in the mushroom kingdom, which is governed by Princess Peach. His main antagonistic is Bowser (King Koopa)
Sonic Lore **Pulls cigarette out of the packet in his pocket and lights it** "So you wanna know who knuckles is eh? Kid, ya' don't even know who Sonic is!"
"I know who Sonic is; he's a hed-" **SLAMS TABLE**
"AH! Already wrong." **goes to the board covered in post-its and string** "First, ya' need to know the Hiroshima bombing"

@@rayvenkman2087 I quite like that idea; a believable bit of character development.
This was a mighty cool video
That's mightily nice of you to say
I Actually disagree with the theory that Mighty was just there to replace Sonic in chaotix the reason why is because chaotix was most likely going to be a game about Espio the Chameleon. It's that Espio was the main character of the game until his role was later taken by knuckles.
Also do you notice something similar with Migthy, vector, and Charmy all of them already existed in the franchise
Vector: he was originally going to be a part of Sonic's band and his design was finalized in 1992
Charmy :he had appeared in the Sonic manga.
Mighty: he appeared in the Sega Sonic arcade game
(Also there's also potential chance that vector and mighty appeared in the Sonic manga).
@sk We have to make a backstory ourselves!
I think Mighty just helped the Chaotix temporarily like Knuckles did and is not a member of the team.
this year segasonic the hedgehog turns 30 years old which is mighty and rays first appearance, HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY MIGHTY AND RAY!
This is the first time I've seen Mighty without his red shell and now I can die happy.
I think its very possible for Mighty and Ray to appear in modern appearances since they did made Metal Sonic a modern look.
I’m happy he was actually able to play as in “sonic mania”
And yes I know you can play as him in other games
I really believe that sonic short with mighty and ray at the bar had a big part to play in this.
Interesting video, hadn't heard of Ray, but Mighty is my 2nd fave Chaotix member, after Vector ha. Do love some sonic lore as there's plenty that passed me by
I think a huge reason that’s glossed over too is that his design is somewhat similar to shadow with the black and red
I really hope in the future Mighty and Ray become part of the IDW series that would AWESOME!
First the restriction of "no classic era characters" would need to be removed. Ian Flynn had Sonic reference Team Hooligans in #3 and Sega immediately told him to stop.
Mighty was my favourite member of the chaoticx so I am glad that he is appearing again even if it's only the classic games

I love ray the flying squirrel in mania because his gliding /flying is so fun
Fun fact: recently a mighty version of sonic.exe was made name mighty.zip. he appears In a fnf mod called d-sides (which is a remix version of regular fnf) and he has a purple shell rather than a red one (though there is a version made where he has a red shell). In someways this helps further segments mighty's popularity in the sonic Fandom.
If you'd told me the isometric game was for GBA I'd have believed it. Looks really fun.
I'd agree with that. Mighty doesn't have a whole lot going for him compared to other more unique characters.
Tell me what makes him too similar as I honestly don't even see it
Could you possibly talk about wechnia the glitch echidna?
Watching your videos makes me feel better about being another sonic-loving brit.
Part of me has the feeling mighty and ray could shine in an adventure style game
I can't believe they added Ross Geller to the Sonic franchise
I dont remember if we had SegaSonic near us but I do remember seeing it in magazines. I had Knuckles Chaotix later and I remember him there.
