As an American, your videos about life in the Netherlands are just as interesting as your life in Ghana. Observing how things in the Netherlands are alike and different from life in the US is always educational for us less traveled folks. :-)

No worries Acheampong's! Do whatever you want whatever is best for your family! Your choices is WHY people are following you and some may be envious. We are vicariously walking beside you on your journey, BUT IT IS YOUR PATH! Walk it in whatever shoes/sandals/boots you choose!

You did what a lot of us, especially older people, can only dream about. You lived your dream, you are young enough to recoup any losses, and to learn from the experience, and to go back when the time is right, and execute your plans. I have enjoyed your adventures in Ghana. God bless.

OMG!! feel sorry for whomever said that you guys are not strong for leaving Ghana. PLEASE... I think you guys are extremely strong and to bring your children along with you displays your true strength. Please DON'T APOLOGIZE for wanting to live your BEST life in your way.
I agree with you regarding Ghana and the reasons why you left. When you think you deserve more you will have more in life - don't settle to live meager when you don't have to just because that's how others accept life to be.
I can't live without working toilets or running water that doesn't containment my skin due to the lack of sanitation. Ghana is beautiful but its a developing nation - I love your family sweetheart; don't allow "internet trolls" to worry you. You don't owe anyone an explanation on your finances or business plan.
Manifestation is REAL. I see you getting millions from your adventures as a TH-cam influence/creator.

@Ike Naija I respect their reasons for moving back,It help us to know what to put in and to take out...Also we can't build Africa to the standard of their choice or build for them to come and enjoy with their monies...There were places at Osu where locals use to go and enjoy have their fun but guess what it all gentrified by these same westerners because they have the dollar power.. I love our pple coming back home but some of them should understand Africa and not to bring their capitalism and consumerism to create situation that would push the locals but rather we should collaborate and blend the 2 cultures for good outcome to benefit us all...
And true Europe isn't for every African... I got opportunities to visit Mainz and Wormz in Frankfurt Germany,Came back and went again in 2014,Tour around Copenhagen Denmark and Malmo in Sweden,Went back to Ghana and recently went to Orlekon a small town in Zurich Switzerland then to Berlin and Denmark Swedish again and now back to the street of Accra in my one room hustling on the street...So under prevailed like me to come back home I understand your point that not every African want to leave Europe...With all their luxuries and wealth the level of stress and depressions is incomparable to what am use to in my poor home...

I think a lot of people underestimate what it means to be born in one geographical location, live their until you are adults and change suddenly to another location. For me I think you guys are brave to move in and move out. There will be people like yourself who move to Africa thinking it’s just going to be easy and it’s not and because of what people will say decide to grind until their conditions become worse. Not everyone who move to Africa stay and settled. Every human decision is up to them to own it. I admire your courage for making your decision and owning it. It’s great for as many as possible African in diaspora to move to Africa to use their experience and knowledge to help where they can. However, we must admit that not everyone who has Africa heritage will go back and live in Africa. You can try something out and if it’s not working the way you want, nothing stops you from changing course. That isn’t a crime. Good luck in whatever you.

Guys you dont owe anyone an explanation. It's lovely that your sharing. Those of us who have travelled home to ghana 4 holidays know how expensive it is. But when u have kids they come 1st, they need stability in order to study and be level minded. In terms of home life, I also agree comfort at home is super important. You need a comfortable home to feel and be relaxed at the end of the day. This was a great experience 4 u guys and we are glad that we were able to follow you on your journey :-). I know for sure you will b bk in Ghana in 2 yrs owning your own home. Anna u will open a school and place for children to play and enjoy themselves remember i said it here 1st.

You don't have to live in Africa to appreciate Africa. I appreciate many places that I have visited. I know that some people are trying to make you feel some kind of way for moving back to Holland. Providing a stable life for your kids is most important. I moved to several states when my child was young and she went to many schools. She is in her 20ties now and believe me, I hear about how she wished she did not go to so many schools.

They are quick to pull out their ghana flag on social media and love their heritage but have no plans on living there full time. Yet their are going after acheampong family on the fact that they are mixed and prefer their white lineage hence why they left Ghana? It’s the most disingenuous comment ever. It needed to be said.

You are both correct in the evaluation of your journey which I really enjoy. How one receives the emotional responses of your fans is subjective as well. Again, you are both correct in your feelings being that the full life picture will always remain a mystery to your followers. Only you know all of the variables involved. It’s the same even as a couple where subjectivity has to be taken into consideration. That’s where ongoing communication between the two is very important. All I see is growth as individuals and as a family even without knowing the in depth knowledge of your beginnings. Peace.

Your family is definitely going places. Greatness, wisdom and humility is all over you.

Great video and thanks for sharing! Well done in living your dream! Life is not a rehearsal. We are a Ghanaian-German family of nine moving to Ghana in some few months. I just came back 2 weeks ago after doing the final checks before we move. Stuff like schools, house etc. Your channel is among the channels that inspired us when thinking of moving to Ghana. We will also share our journey on our channel to inspire others too.

Awww Dear Anna and Kevin. Please forget about these negative comments. You did the absolute 💯 for you and your family. That time spent in Ghana ..... your kids will never forget that experience. You have invested in their confidence ... you will never know. I was born and bred in Ghana till I was 21. Lived in UK for 30 years. I would love to relocate to Gh and I am struggling with it. So so proud of you. You showed me places in Ghana and Togo that enlightened me. Lots of love ❤ to you all

So true about emotional safety of school system. That was in the Caribbean too until they move away from "British " education which is geared for places that were colonized by England. This education is different from the UK educational system. In the colonies they beat children and th aren't allowed to express their feelings. It's "children should be seen but not heard". I'm so happy to see you are back in your comfort zone and the children are adopting. Ghana is not bad for vacation. You can be a friend to Ghana without settling there.

Thank you for doing this. You didn't have to explain anything to anyone. Dont pay attention to the naysayers. Do what is best for the 2 MOST important people in your lives...Sophie-Jane and Micah.
The problem with society is that children are not prioritized as much as they should be.
All the best to you guys.

Once again a huge applause for your open and sincere submissions to all the questions that were asked by your followers.👏One thing you should muscle-up for is that, once you're openly in the virtual space sharing your personal lives, there will always be a "price" to pay. Both comments of discouragement and comments of hope will be hurled at you. They both have their edges, either it toughens and matures you to react/respond to the different characters in the social arena or you break. This is what builds a person up with the requisite capacity to lead and to deal with different kinds people so don't be discouraged. Kevin I'm looking at your "flat" tummy...ooo🤭.😃Stay blessed and stay in hope.

Maybe Ghana will reach new levels, especially in the education department as they grow and change. Then when Ghana matures, God willing you will be ready. God bless sweet family.

Awesome session. You made the right decision by coming to GH. Connecting with your roots was very good especially for the kids. The experience you've had in Ghana is priceless.
Do not worry about some of the subjective comments from some viewers. You can never win over every one. I believe you made the right decision for yourself and the kids. Once it makes you happy together, don't feel bad about anything. It has been a great experience. I respect you so much.

The Netherlands is a very small organized beautiful country. I lived there for three years. I wept when I was leaving to return to my motherland in one of the African countries where nothing works well, life is difficult. I especially wept for going back to drive on our bad roads. When I was in netherland driving on those perfect roads was what I lived for every weekend. I toured the country. It’s only Friesland region I didn’t visit. But I was where you have the giant water dikes that pushed back the North Sea. Lovely country but I love my home country too because I grew up here. Things will get better I believe.

Great comment... If all Africans can return like you did, we can develop and create wonderful roads also. Our skilled workers are all leaving to Europe and US, how can Africa develop? .
The Acheampong family are Dutch and return back to their country after two years stay in Ghana. No one should question their decision. They're not from Ghana. Africans must fix the continent and not foreigners.

I lived in the Netherlands for 3 months and the culture shock was real.I too wept when I was leaving just because I felt my own country Kenya can do better.
That was one of my most cherished experiences so far.I believe will be back. But in all honesty I miss the Netherlands.

@@spuknicjones9531 exactly. I understand it's hard for children especially who are accustomed to western life to adapt in many African countries. However, I truly believe that it's time for us Africans to try to contribute to our countries. We can't keep running from our problems. If the Chinese, Indians, Lebanese can come with little money and create businesses in Africa, why can't we. Personally, I'm working hard to save enough money to be able to start some business in my country and provide work opportunities. I Know I'm going to face a lot of challenges, but I'd rather die knowing I tried to make a difference.

Don't let the negative comments get you down. They don't know enough about your life to make the negative assumptions. Like you said people are just capturing a tiny snippet of you and it's not all of you. You guys were very brave to even take up your family and move, but now you know how to do it next time.

As Kevin rightly said “people project a lot” Anna listen opinions are like noses, everyone has one. Take constructive criticism but equally only you know what works best for your family. Be you and the world will adjust.
If they don’t like it, they are welcome to create their own TH-cam and leave you alone 🖤. It’s always easy to judge other people but when the shoe is on the other foot, these judgemental people rarely keep the same energy.

Thanks again for sharing your life in Holland with us. My advice to you is don’t second guess or regret your decision to go to GH and back to HL. What you have done to SJ and Mk is more than millions of $. They will grow holistically up with it. That was the perfect time to expose them multiculturally. Take them back to vacation any time possible. Don’t let them loose what they learn. Continue to put GH and Tg on the map.
