Ego 56v Select Cut Lawn Mower (LM2130) Review 4 - Cutting through tall grass with "boost"

In this review, we're testing the automatic boost mode where the mower detects increase load and speeds up the blades. I cannot quite tell how it's actually determining the extra power to supply here, but it seems to actually increase the blade speed significantly over normal speed for an extended period of time. I really wish this was a setting that could be turned on. Even in the super tall, wet grass that was causing the increased load and very heavy grass load in the deck, the mower cut better than it does in normal dry grass on the normal speed. I really wish this was a setting and am going to look at hacking it to stay in this mode all the time. The cut was incredible. I can only assume this is because of increased blade speed. It absolutely destroyed the grass and mulched it into a puree. The grass was incredibly wet and I'm not sure I've ever seen mulching ability like this in a mower.
But, it really ate through the battery. I was able to do about a 1/8 acre during this elevated power boost. I noticed if I let the mower set, the battery restored a bit and I was able to mow the entire yard again with no problem on two bars.
This is all with the 7.5 ah battery. I think with the select cut XP, they upped the power of the motor and added more battery to give it even more power than this, but if the default blade tip speed is the same, I think they really need to consider boosting it for an excellent cut.
