@@Molly-xc6ho nope all film says not to shake it says to leave it in the dark upside down. I have a vintage Polaroid 600 and a Instax mini 9 and they both say to let the picture develop in the dark.

Oh man some of those original misprinted film/photos that had that kinda marbled blob effect were actually really fascinating imo. They look like the shores of a distant planets ocean or something 🌌

It's like Life is Strange meeting Oxenfree, but in real life... (in the first one, the most recognized picture is a polaroid of a girl standing in front of the wall with a collection of polaroid photos; in the second one, there are also a lot of polaroids and characters looks a little similar to yours).

No problem! Polaroid is back thank goodness. It's still a bit pricey, but I think they are worth it!

Use Fiji film!!!! They make really great films and they rarely ever mess up... that’s what I use with my camera.
THANK YOU for this comment. I bought Fiji film as soon as I saw it and it honestly saved my crusty old Polaroid.
Also if you want a camera like a Polaroid you can get an insta by Fujifilm. Basically the same! I have a pink one and I’ve been using it for like 3 years! Only changed my battery twice!

I felt the same way you do about acrylics. I was lucky enough to get a set of Winsor & Newton acrylics for my birthday. Honestly, I still love gouache the best; however, the acrylics are growing on me. I like that they’re permanent once dry.

I have an instax, which is like a mini Polaroid. It’s kind of funny explaining to kids my age about film, because, yah know, they don’t know about film. Like, one time on a field trip to a music museum, when I heard that there was no flash aloud at the museum, I said “aww, so I can’t use my camera” then someone said “can’t you just turn the flash off?” If you know anything about film and instant film, you know that that isn’t how these kinds of cameras work

This is such a fun idea! The self portrait is really cool - especially with the background of the original photo showing through! Also the corals and the ant are so cute ^_^ all the painted polaroids would be so nice to have hanging on a bullet board or on a string across the wall :)

it's true, i was surprised when I found out that too.
idk what happens if you shake them but i know you aren't supposed to (i think it messes up the chemical paste or smth)

This is what I do with the polaroids that don’t come out right, I usually paint over the final product with a layer of clear nail polish bc then it low key looks like a normal Polaroid lol

This is a FAB idea!! Unfortunately, the only polaroids I have are from the 70's - yes, I'm old!! I loved the coral one - was that watercolour too? Looked so bright, more like acrylics! Ooooooh, I want to have a go at this!!
I think the first polaroid is more unique, because it's more mixed media and you utilize the shapes that's already taken in the picture. For the others, instead of painting over the entire frame, maybe see what you can come up with following that pre-existing shape?
Now that we get to see her face she can't stop showing it to us (not in a bad way)

I have an instax polaroid (like every other basic girl in the universe) and one of my film packs was broken when I got it and I didn’t realize it so it had to take the film out after it got jammed and stuff. So now I just have a bunch of blank white pictures so now I can do this with them!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!! My fave is either the first one, or the last one.

Ahhhhh I did that before, its a reeeeeaaaally good way to use crappy polaroid photos. Very tempted to use this technique for an art piece for school but couldn't collect enough polaroid...
