  • Today on The Railway Room I'm building a 009 gauge model of a Glyn Valley Tramway locomotive - 'Glyn' - using a Brooks 3D kit. The kit runs on a Kato 11-109 chassis, and comes complete with many extra detailing parts.
New versions of this kit do include alternative nameplates for Dennis and Sir Theodore, however the earlier locos do differ from Glyn, so use of those names requires judicious use of modellers licence.
This kit is available from brooks3dmodels.com or on eBay... I have no affiliation with them, just a very happy customer!
Note that a couple of times in this video I refer to Bronze paint, when in fact I mean Brass. In my defense I had just bought a tub of bronze paint on a whim and was trying to work out what I could use it for. The bronze paint was actually used on the fire irons.

Pretty cool kit that.... it even comes with the windows, which 3d printed kits never seem to do!

Great video, in my experience Nigel Brooks kits knock it out of the park, the wagons are better then Dundas kits, easier to build, better detail and cheaper, superb 👍

Good work! Maybe this year we could have you visit our next event with your layout! 🙂

I’ve been to the Glyn Valley Tramway!

3D resin printers have changed our modelling. Anything we can CAD we can print now.

In the end, it’s a very Nice locomotive. In fact, one day, hopefully, I could do a locomotive just like this one. I have my own Thomas & Friends OC’s, and I want to Recreate them in OO scale. I actually have an OC who is based off of the exact engine this model is.

Really impressed by that! Looks great and fits in to a small budget too. Hoping to build a small oo-9 layout myself and trying to keep the cost of the tracks/loco/rolling stock initially to under £150.

    Does a 11-106 or 11-107 work too?

  • @kevinburt3075

What type off glue did you use when building the model please ?
