For those contemplating a wood framed RTT instead of aluminum extrusion, you might consider using a planer/joiner to square up the edges of the frame for a cleaner fit. You can also inlet the frame for low profile weather stripping. (It will last far longer if it has some room to squish without becoming paper thin.)

Question would plastic be better as top layer? Lighter water proof cap. Cut ting and melting corners.

it could be better. If you have access to the materials and youre good and plastic welding or using a bonding agent for it. I went with wood because its cheap and easy. Plastic may not be as rigid as the wood, and it could possibly be heavier. But im not super sure on that.

@@evansautomotive307 thats why I'm asking. I see everyone doing with plywood makes sense for bottom. But for top I would think 3mm plastic as skin still use wood box with corner suport as base for top. Maybe drip plastic over sides? So it keeps water and dust out better. Idk I'm just bouncing ideas. Im making little list to build for my rover.

@@merkucamp Yeah it would just be a matter of waterproofing it. That would be pretty cool to see!

I will for sure!, the base weighed 95lbs which is pretty heavy, but the canvas, mattress, struts and everything else shouldnt exceed 30lbs. So I think a safe estimate is 130-130lbs

    Hey Evan sweet build!
Do you have the materials listed for this build
    Just wondering how many
    2by4 and 1by4 are needed?
    Thanks!

I dont have the materials listed, but if you dont make any mistakes you can use 3-2x4s and 3-1x4s. I used a sheet of 1/2in plywood for the bottom and i believe an 11/32s piece on the top.

You need to balance your sound. Voice is very soft so I turn it up. Then the MUSIC STARTS AND i HAVE TO TURN IT DOWN SO I DON'T BLOW OUT MY EARS. This is a pet peeve of mine on utube.
