See the improvement from the last elections. Also, this year Congress was not fighting alone, they were fighting as an alliance, which means Congress didn't contest on a lot of seats , so that other party could contest and to avoid vote distribution.

Telangana seems surprising only to outsiders. Those who've been here are hardly surprised. Hindutva has gained momentum in Hyderabad region, because KCR was hell bent on carving an identity separate from Andhra that he pumped crores into celebrating Telangana specific festivals. I believe that BJP did badly in UP, and lost in Faizabad, was because how NM disregarded the Hindu protocols and took the opportunity to promoted himself. The results would have been radically different if he had given the prominence to the priests

Why did congress loose MP and Gujarat.may be the same reason
JDS losing in Hassan is a big deal. Prior to this election, Janata Dal had won eight of nine times in the constituency. Only exception being 1999!
There is no Loksabha constituency called 'Ayodhya'. There is an assembly seat from Ayodhya which comes under Faizabad Loksabha and BJP has probably a lead from Ayodhya segment in 2024 also.
Ayodhya seat hi hai uska naam 2019 diwali me change kiya tha, now Faizabad comes under ayodhya
There is no railway station called Faizabad, no address which mention Faizabad anymore, we use ayodhya for amazon courier as well.
BJP is trying to hide it by saying we lost in Faizabad.
