I'm currently downloading GT and Project Hero. I generally make it a policy to not play fan games with only a handful stages because I don't want to get bored of replaying them. However, games like P-06 and presumably GT and PH, I won't get bored of because they're so fun.

SRB2 will always be my favorite just out of sheer content.
With the amount of mods it has you could play that game for months and not go through everything it has to offer.

You might have noticed games like Sonic BTS/ATS, Sonic Utopia, SRB2, etc are not on this list. There have been 10,000 videos made about these games in the past, some even made by me. Everyone knows they are good, let some newer fan games take the spotlight for once. If we always talk about the exact same games over over, there's literally no point to making new videos.

I played Sonic 3 AIR recently and it’s my favorite way to play Sonic 3 now. Project Hero in that spot is also absolutely warranted. And my pal Nekko with Sonic VS Darkness is on here, which is so great because he’s a major inspiration for my own work. I will absolutely seek out any games on here I hadn’t tried up to this point and give them a shot!!! Thank you so, so much again, Dylan!! 💙

If there's one thing I notice with the Infinity engine, it's that it can't use loops or corkscrews. The Bumper engine works perfectly with any kind of wall running, looping, etc. Plus, it's got a simple level editor built in, with drag and drop assets for those less skilled in modeling and coding. I dunno, I just prefer it to Infinity.

I know they are old fangames, Sonic Before and After the Sequel were AMAZING fangames!!!! It's nice to see more really great fangames being made.
Can I just say that I've never watched any of your videos nor really been in the Sonic fandom as of late, and I was beginning to be reinterested in Sonic when I stumbled across this video. You know what what would be a cool idea? When you get a chaos emerald you could use like a boost, and invincibility when you use it, for a few rings, and the more chaos emeralds you get the longer the boost is, the faster you go, and the longer the invincibility is.

My favourite fan game is probably the Classic Sonic Engine on Roblox. It's amazing how they managed to get the game inside Roblox's engine. There's about 5 characters to play as and a few complete stages to play in.

glad to see this popping up on my recommended, i was hoping for a sonic game to play and i will get to some of these. the most fun i remember i had with sonic games in recent memory was sonic generations Action master mission, that was the only time i replayed it so much to improve my time

my favorite sonic fangame is Sonic Robo Blast 2. it controls better than all of the official 3d sonic games in my opinion, and that helps makes the levels so fun to try and run through, i almost always feel entirely in control of sonic in SRB2. it also has plenty of original level themes and levels in general with some pretty good music. the multiplayer is also quite fun.

I thought you were bullshiting on sonic GT but it is now one of my favorite sonic games ever . They really got the camera mechanics and gameplay down but the thing that suprised me was how good the level design you are always going the right way unlike a certain over bloomed infinity engine game this one actually shows you where to go but also gives you a good sense of direction

from all the games i downloaded sonic network world and project hero BTW project hero holds a special place in my heart considering i was a fan of the game before it would release so i was hyped and its the game that made me start playing sonic fan games

If GT or any Sonic fan made game made a "Mario Kart" style except they are actually running (not sonic driving a car) in a 3 lap course or GT course with multiplayer and power ups I couldn't see how it would fail.
Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart. All of the default characters of the mod are driving karts but I've seen one custom character (created by someone in the community) that's Sonic but he runs instead. That's the closest I've seen to what you're talking about

I know this isn't a conventional Sonic fan game, but I've seen someone was creating a remastered version of Sonic Chronicles, the RPG one. Basically the guy intends to remake the game with high quality models and animations, and I think (not sure of that one) revamp the gameplay to be more bearable.
I know this one isn't very awaited by the community, but from the look of it it looks like a very ambitious project, with many people working on it. It already looks gorgeous at the very least, so maybe try and check it out (it's still in devlopment tho).
Sonic Advance Revamped and Sonic 3 A.I.R are at the top of my list, but I will definitely give the rest a shot.

Great list full of great fan games, but I'm surprised you mentioned some of them over some great ones like Time Twisted or Before/After the Sequel.

I think out of all the ones shown, Sonic GT is the one I'm most likely to play. While Sonic Islands *would* be my number 1 spot, I've played it already and I am waiting for a more finished version with the new engine to come out with a new playable stage, in fact ANY stage that I can run through from start to finish would be amazing. Sonic GT on the other hand looks like it has amazing flow and a sort of feeling like if you're good enough you can go anywhere with the amount of sheer speed you can build up, and the levels look like they're totally designed around this freeflowing nature. The moveset looks superb and really looks like it complements everything I just mentioned really well.
When the Sonic fandom aren't arguing or doing... Heh... Unmentionable acts, they can create amazing things.
