So holocrine glands slow bacterial growth. Fitness websites say you need to shower after you get sweaty. I'm not convinced showering after a workout is strictly related to sanitation. Sweating is a filtration mechanism, it removes salt and impurities from the body. So that's one of the reasons why exercising and getting sweaty is healthy.

My textbook published in 2019 shows that porcine glands release pheromones.

Do apocrine glands release natural steroids or injected steroids for performance?

Are apocrine glands really merocrine glands? I still dont get it because in aprocine glands, vesicles break off the cell with the cytoplasm but it has merocine secretions and uses merocine mechanism.

well, i guess the merocrine also refers to eccrine rather than apocrine if that's what u mean?

Apocrine and errcrine both release by exocytosis.
Apocrine releases in hair follicles and errcrine in directly on skin surface.
