Ouch, that must have stinged quite a bit. But it is a great learning experience, one you most likely won't easily forget.

It certainly took the wind out of my sails. I don't think I was outwardly sour about it and kept proper gamesmanship- which is a better win.

Anthony Wilson Sometimes it's just better to aknowledge you've been properly beaten.
At least that is against a opponent with superior strategies and not because of rotten dicerolls.

Despite the record you played very well, even against one of the best players in the country. Each game is a learning experience.

Blinded by blood lust lol. We've all been there! You're boys fought well though.

Man, you just can't get any luck, can you?

To be fair, luck handed me the game matchup. My critical thinking immediately binned all hope.

"Will I change it for this one?" My heart wants to say yes, but my brain and your string of terrible luck says no. Sorry, Ouchies :(
Edit: Yup. And stuff like this is why I have a great, deep dislike for objectives in tabletop games. I mean, I get why they're there: to force conflict, to force players to actually engage. To keep stuff like Battletech's issue of clanners moonwalking over the same patch of 5 hexes or kiting forever from happening. I get it, really I do. But when that system leads to someone who is so clearly in control of a match, who has taken barely any loses and who has wiped out the entire enemy's high-level command and significant portions of their army to lose... that's just obnoxious and perfectly illustrates the problems.
Like, why wouldn't, in a "real" situation, the commander for Ouchie's units just say "Oh, they've got two tanks left near the [important thing], send the Panthers and Panzers to destroy them or drive them off." Instead, the commander goes "OH NO! TWO TANKS NEAR THE BOOSE STASH! EVERYONE RUN FOR YOUR LIIIIIVES!" End rant.
    I feel for ya, Ouchies.

Yeah, I can get that feeling. Perhaps the unit commander didn't really know there were only 2 tanks? Maybe the objective threatened something that upper command was willing to pull the plug on? On the flip side, it was a heroic stand by 2 tanks to delay the inevitable.

I just wish that Flames of War, which I see it happening more in, had longer match times. I realize that's probably not feasible without the total game time becoming unacceptably long, but if you'd had just 1 more turn you would have easily won. Oh well. I'm rooting for your next match, man :)

I sorted out my stupidity. Next Tourney I do much better (eps, 99, 101, 102).
