Had a similar experience bringing a Panzer Ausbildungs Abteilung 500 at a local tournament. Other lists had too little that could actually damage all my FA 9,10 and 14. Biggest struggle is pushing infantry with panzerfausts off an objective.
Also ouchies, sorry to be the fun police, but as someone mentioned in the /fowg/ discord, I don't think you are actually able to mix the IS-2 and KV-1e in a single formation.
Fun police indeed. I didn't even notice. I ran the list through FoWLists and it didn't stop me. But you are right, all the combat platoons need to be the same sort of tank as the Battalion HQ. That's entirely my bad.
This game and your previous one really make me think that Battlefront (that's the company that makes FOW right?) need to look into better ways of balancing what lists fight what other lists. I don't imagine it's much fun to have a match where you cannot hurt the enemy. I mean, you can argue that that's a problem with the list that the player built, but my personal game design philosophy would be that you should endeavor to make it so that someone cannot accidentally make a list that another list hard-counters.
You're right. Flames of War is generally pretty balanced in that regard. It's the only system that I can think of that has tourneys where you specifically design the worst list possible and hand it to your opponent. Even in those situations the lists generally work. This is an odd duck in that regard. TankRider had his moment when he charged my IS-2s in an attempt to get at the side armor. But he just wiffed the turn.
You're right. I think Battlefront have destroyed the play balance with V4. Heavy tanks are just too powerful now. Its not a problem if you have your own heavy tanks or decent anti-tank guns, but if you are playing one of the minor nations (Poles, Japanese, Italians, Rumanians, Hungarians etc) you really have no hope.

Nice report, first btw. Great looking table too. ;)
What is best in life?
TO DESTROY YOUR ENEMIES. SEE THEM DRIVEN BEFORE YOU. AND HEAR THE LAMENTATION OF THEIR WOMEN.
Pretty much what your heavy tanks did, don't you agree? :D
