They did a Music In Higher Places DVD, where they traveled to Morocco. Everything was acoustic and recorded in places like the marketplace, ancient ruins, the Sahara desert under a moonlit night. Some of the best acoustic location recordings ever.
Sometimes Collective Soul sounds much better in acoustic than in electric. I really love this version and think is one of the best performance in acoustic.
That is Ross. He was lead before he left... or was removed... whatever. I've listened to them for sometime now. Never seen this video before, though. I do enjoy listening to CS when they play acoustic.
Remember how I am blessed with dreams in life during the age of this season. Music tells how everything in my life happens..I make this as my diary pretending it's me singing to stories tell to individuals
lol I always remember the vh1 special with dave matthews and tim reynolds when dave says how he wishes he would look like the oasis brothers when he sings but he always looks like he is constipated.
It happens to me also. I usually play songs of Alice in Chains, Collective Soul and Nirvana... and sounds much better in acoustic. It's a spiritual sound, the acoustic guitar is one of the best musical instruments ever made
@SpunAndDone I don't believe that's Ross. I think this was filmed since his departure. Should not have been screwing around with Ed's now ex-wife. He could still be playing along side him.
I appreciate the fact that some people prefer acoustic versions...but this is hardly a great version. The acoustic guitars don't sound all that great, and the feel of the famous riff is lost...and the vocals should have a little bit of reverb/delay and then this could sound better.
not very good acoustic giutarists in this vid, its the first time i seen them play acoustic and im not real impressed, but who knows they probs drunk or high. great song tho
Collective Soul touches my heart in a way I can not explain, I hear them and my soul says "oh yeah, that's what I needed to hear"......
One of the most underrated bands of the '90's in my opinion.
Vintage! This must have been right before Ross's departure. Great video!

What's the acoustic version they show on VH1 called? I think it's at an MTV studio, but I can't find it on youtube. Help!
Taking the "yeah" part out of this song is like the Beatles not singing "coo-coo-ca-choo."
