That short solo said more about the blues than anything that I've heard for months from the so called "hot players" perhaps they should slow down, and think how important EVERY single note is to a solo, it's not about speed, it's about structure and phrasing. Thanks Rob.
You are spot on. A lot of modern Django disciples concentrate on emulating his blistering speed and ignore what made him special. Timing. Phrasing and soul.
Hi Robin …I’m so glad I watched this video. The licks you show us how to play are great but as an added bonus you also managed to explain to me the GJ picking style whereby you rest on the string below. I’ve been struggling with this but in this video you explained and showed how to it so many thanks.❤
Hi Robin, can you do a video on a Gypsy guitar buying guide, please? I’m very inspired by your playing and lessons and I think that would be very valuable for your viewers and subscribers. Thanks!
Been playing this lick from the A string for quite a while...never occurred to me to hit it from the E...lots of cool places to take it! Once again, great vid with instantly useful stuff...get thee to Chicago soon, mkay?
I’m watch from Kyoto Japan , on holiday from Sydney . I managed to buy a guitar like yours in Tokyo at a nice price the brand is saga DG-300 not sure if it’s exactly like yours cheers love the arpeggio lesson 👍🏻 Jackson
I’ve been trying to pick up a song by Caro Emerald, “Pack Up The Louis”, electro swing, which has to come from this music, anyway, THIS IS SUCH A PERFECT TUTORIAL to go along with that!! Gm Blues!!! Thank you, Robin!! And cheers from Easel Monster of Paint by Monster, CMDR Penny, MacVac and the crew of my ship, the GodZeppelin. I love you Robin. I enjoy learning from you. I like your choices and your thinking about small bites. See you!
Another good one - I was just playing at a gypsy jam in Gainesville Fla last night and one of the guys there said you had played there a few years ago.
G Melodic minor .The lick is from the second mode , 'Dorian b2'. Though you touch a bit in most lessons , which video would best teach the chords used in GJ ?

@@GypsyJazzSecrets I'm sorry. I should have been more specific. I'm asking about the chord you play at exactly 3:40. Thanks so much. You're an exceptional teacher, and I enjoy your lessons.
