I've been trying to figure out the last chord voicing of that turnaround, the one he resolves to with the A and G on the high E string. But I can't seem to get the correct fingering. Have you had any transcribing the entire turnaround?
Love your kitchen 😂 Anyway you’re not just a guy helping people..i love how you share that music showing us how to follow the good way to learn it..not to impress I tell you , you’re a really good player.. So i m gonna follow you..thanks for all Bad english from France, keep it like this..respect
Salut Robin, From Châteauguay Québec, You got me playing Gypsy Jazz after I saw you at the Montreal Jazz Festival, a 20 years ago, keep up the good course.
Hi from Japan !, Amazing as usual!!, I love the inspiration and the beautiful chops you lay down!!!!!!, without any doubt I'm a better Musician because of you!!, In closing I will add Swing Gitane to my repertoire. Sincerely a fan !
Can't believe I missed the oportunity to see you live in Piracicaba, Robin! Unfortunately my friends there told me about the festival when it was over.... Hope you liked the city!
Thank you Robin for this amazing lesson. Are you ever coming to Austria? Always wanted to see you perform live. The Gypsy Jazz community is tiny here... Anyway, have a go, take it slow and stay inspired!
@@nathanrowe3489 the pillars are also inside the Gypsy Jazz Club in the Foundations course. We also learn the pillars in other ways inside the club. Thanks for the comment and stay inspired! I’m here to help
Robin - what is that chord you move up a semitone to the Ab at 0:16? Is it D B D on strings 5 3 and 2 i.e. you're just skipping the root?? Thanks. 4 of us (so far) coming to Djangofest 2020.
Hi Robin, Thanks for going over this great tune. Although I haven't played it for months, it was easy to recall, since you got us to memorise it at the GJ retreat in Western Australia. Looking forward to finding out what the Brazilians do with la pompe. Do they like the Gypsy Bossa rhythm? Is there a Gypsy Samba now?
dingoswamphead yes it’s a good one to play Swing Gitane. Truth is the Brazilians don’t really like to play the so called Gypsy Bossa... much happier playing swing!
Hi. Thanks for the cool lesson! What chords are you using in the end. They sound so pretty. Around 21:34. Are they diminished? If so, how do they relate to the chords in the rhythm?
I believe it's m6b5's and then major6b5. It's like doing a m7b5 and moving all fingers a string towards the bottom. I guess it's like chords replacement, you know, like a Bm7b5 relates to Dm and C#m7b5 relates to A. This exact thing is - to me - central to get that gypsyjazz-ish sound and colour!
And here's me thinking that you had to have a fucķed up hand in order to play this stuff. How did Monsieur Reinhardt manage all of those Chords. Something not quite right about your explanation. Twilight Zone shit.👽👽👽
BARKINGattheMOON100 haha is mere mortals need all the fingers we can get.. Django had the use of 2 fingers for single lines but could use his disabled fingers in some chords. 🙌Robin

Love that turnaround 4:16

Thank you for this great lesson! One question…are all the pillars taught in your Gypsy Jazz Club online, or only at the in person retreats? Thank you!

Rick Spence hi Rick - it starts at 35X45 and slides up one fret to 46X56 bass note played with thumb. Djangofest 2020 will be awesome! Robin
@@GypsyJazzSecrets Got it - thanks. So many voicings...glad to hear you have Jimmy Rosenburg - great line up.
Rick Spence ah yes you mean Django Amsterdam! Yes it will be special!
Where does the Ab chord come from?
Our the blue just a semitone shift up! Cheers, Robin
Could you give me various chords for F major please.
