Exotic Bird kite and more in a very blue sky

- My 1,885th kite video. On the first day after our wettest month ever, conditions were great, and we took advantage of them to fly a few interesting items. Unfortunately, there's still plenty of bad weather to come before spring arrives in New Zealand!

What a rare day with some nice steady wind. The kites all looked so good. Always impressed how rock steady the Rocket kite remains. I think Peter now has the best version of his snake.

What a colorful sky of color. I haven't seen a pastel kite of yours that I have not liked. Here is another one that I can give👍👍👍 up to.

All set for Kite Festival that starts 8-15. Weather has been in the 80's on the coast. Seattle(102) & Portland(106).

Well, I already have another 1,884 videos with hundreds of different kites in them, but I certainly hope to add a few more before I finish. I'm glad you like this one, anyway.
You had a very good day. I flew a kite at the beach a few days ago. Even though I didn't have many kites with me, a beautiful view appeared. I will share it soon.
By the way, Delta Conyne looks very nice. Just like all your other kites.

Another stunning display!! I love the Rocket kite, and found the link you supplied on your first flight video. YAY!! Now I'm torn between the Red/Black color vs the Purple/Blue. Decisions, decisions!! ;-)
When I bought mine there was only one style, so I was saved from having to choose.

If you came to New Zealand, Amy, you would not see one Maori kite. The only one I've ever known to fly was made by my friend Colin McGeorge many years ago in authentic materials, and I made a video of it about three years ago. See: th-cam.com/video/000GdASkmhQ/w-d-xo.html and be sure to read the description underneath the video. This is almost certainly the only video in existence of an authentic Maori kite actually flying (and flying well, by the way). Incidentally, like quite a lot of people here, I don't regard the haka as an appropriate means of expression in the modern world, based as it it on a bloodthirsty war dance performed before going into battle with opposing tribes.

That was a great day, Dewey, but the weather is now back to normal winter, although spring is not far away. The Exotic Bird is quite an old design, and is now out of production like many good kites.

May I ask how many square meters your trilobite kite is ?
Hi Steven. As I mentioned, it's a Trilobite 10, so a nominal area of 10 sq m, I've never tried measuring it, and it's hard to see exactly how you'd do that, but that's what the manufacturer says it is, so...

I think you'll be pleased with it. The Trilobite is a great design. I have a couple of the 7m and you can see my first-ever flight of a Trilobite here: th-cam.com/video/VYpkA1ddr-U/w-d-xo.html . It was probably the first one seen outside China, back in October 2014, but of course it's now very popular everywhere.

It was a rare good day, and we now have rain again with snow on the hills around, but fortunately nothing like the winters you have in the frozen north. I hope you're having a good summer anyway.
@@JimNicholls Thanks Jim but here it's always way too short. The rain fell just about every other day in June but since then it has been reasonably nice.But in just a few short weeks by the end of this month, the leaves will begin changing colour again and so it goes...
