- My 2,116th kite video. Just a few items in the air on a chilly winter day. The excellent Bear comes from here: www.aliexpress.com/item/32681... and I noticed it is at a special price from June 17 for a few days.
Anyone wanting to check out all my "How to..." videos on various aspects of kite-flying can now find them all easily on my Playlist at / jimskitesnz . - บันเทิง
All looking great. Your endless patience has paid off with a restored happy, wiggly snake.
Unravelling the Snake's lines was a big task, Carl, and if it tangles again I'll probably dispose of it.
There is something for everyone in this kite show. Beautiful 😊
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing the display...nice
Thanks for watching, Craig!
Very nice!
Thanks, Evan!
Nice video Jim. The Snake is memorizing, cool. Teddy is a great looking. Thanks Jim!
Glad you enjoyed it, Dewey. Teddy is a great item and good value, too.
I liked how you charmed the snake to dance on the beach, That was a charming Teddy Too! I hope you found something warm afterwards to heat yourslf back up.
Luckily I live only about six minutes from the beach, so I can quickly be back in the warmth of my house once I finish packing up the kites.
Love the wriggly snake forming all sorts of shapes. 1st time seeing this kite. The music is great too.
Watching from Sichuan China. Time passes quickly and I am 10 days here already. Not able to upload anything till I get back to Singapore.
I have two more snakes, and have shown them all together in past videos, but usually fly one at a time. I'll look forward to seeing the videos you've made during your holiday. I hope the remaining days go well.
I think the wriggly behavior of the kite makes it look more like a snake than when it's flying in a perfect circle.
Yes, that's the idea of it, John, but I can't work out how it does that sometimes and not other times. It's not the wind speed changing or anything - it just seems to change its mood every few minutes. I hope you've readjusted to life in Germany after your break.
The sleds looked awesome Jim and loved the added items to them. Ron
Thanks, Ron. The weather's not good here (it's winter, of course) or I'd be flying more and uploading more videos.
Well after seeing how well your 'Big Ted' behaved I just had to get one Jim. A no fuss transaction online. Arrived yesterday. Much quicker than expected ! The stitching is brilliant. Only mod done so far ( before flying him) is to add a decent swivel to the supplied drogue. Thanks for another 'good shout' !!! 😂
I'm sure you'll be happy with Ted. He's one of the most trouble-free line items I've got, and has flown many times in varied conditions with almost no sign of wear. I don't know why anyone would buy the one from Peter Lynn Kites, which is far less good-looking, and costs a lot more. You might even get fond enough of him to take him for a ride on the scooter! AliExpress seem to have greatly improved their shipping speed to NZ and, apparently, to the UK if your experience is anything to go by.
A beautiful streamer tail can be used for all kinds of kites, especially power sleds, lifter kites. the price must be expensive to get them.
Yes, they are very useful tails. The price was not bad from Gomberg Kites, but that company has closed down now.
Premier brand sled kites are the best workhorse lifters. The mango 36 just works.
They are grossly under-rated, Glenn, and for the "normal" kite-flier they are far more useful (and a lot cheaper) than the "pilot" kites which are insisted on by the "bigger is better" brigade with lots of money to waste. The sleds are not only useful, they are very well made, and mine show little wear after years of use. They fly in a wide wind range, and lift as much as any sensible person would want. I hope you get to fly soon. We don't see you flying at home these days - did you lose the flying field or some other problem?
I still kick myself for not buying one of those banner tails when I had the opportunity!
Yes, they are one of many things that are sadly missed after David closed down his company.
Aaah, the "Mainzelmännchen" again 😂
There are 6 of them "Anton, Berti, Conni, Det, Edi, Fritzchen". And right NOW I recognize this... ABCDEF 😂
@thomaskopowski4950 Yes, Thomas, I thought it was time to bring him out again. He "flies" very well, and I should make use of him more often. I haven't seen any more of these, and I don't think Colours In Motion made many of them (they apparently made four different characters). Perhaps they had trouble with copyright, because I think the names they sold them under were not the original ones.
@leeloominaiimunster4607 Colours In Motion made four of the characters, but changed the names and maybe made them look a little different. I'm not sure which one this is meant to be.
Hi Jim Nicholls. The first line laundry on the Power Sled 36 is called "Mainzelmännchen". Its often to see on German Television between the Commercialspots on ZDF.
Beste Grüße aus Deutschland.
Stefan
Thanks, Stefan. It's an interesting item, but I don't often fly it.
Sometimes Teddy needs a little me time.
I think we all do, Sheryl! But I'll try to fly the two together next time.
I want to buy it but its so expensive... I only can make by myself
If you are clever enough to make it yourself, that is better than buying one.
