I have lived in a Middle Eastern Islamic country, Kuwait. I really appreciate the fact that you brought up the fact both of the genders have strict dress codes; not just the women.
Not so strict for men. In a country like KSA men should wear long trousers and shirts covering their arms but some Westerners wear shorts and T shirts and get away with it. Since MBS asserted his influence the religious police are no longer there to bother people the way they used to so strict dress codes are not enforced as in the past.

Also, what is the bathroom situation like? Do they use traditional western toilets and toilet paper, or is water & soap or a bidet more common? I'm assuming the hotels have western toilets, jut not sure what to expect at someone's house or while out seeing the sites.

5:48 i think better not to go this type of countries still in 7 the century culture and there are better countries in this world for travelling and work
If you have a schedule full of travel plans, are you supposed to trash all that because someone or everybody invites you out? You can't say I am busy - I have plans I paid thousands of $ for? These people don't own your life only because you are a visitor. The guest thing in some cultures really annoys me. Typically I think it exists only as an opportunity for them to show off how virtuous and generous they are. I hate it when I visit someone's home and they INSIST on feeding me even if I am not hungry or just ate. They pretend they are doing it for you, but they are actually doing it for themselves.
I think the problem could be solved by carrying an empty prescription pill bottle. Take it out, shake it and say " I can't eat, drink, taste anything, I just took my pills". Or if you want to break contact " I have to GO get my pills right now!" With that concerned look in your eyes. No amount if insisting can argue with the fact that my meds are very very strict. Fairy tale or not. Worth a try ?
I love my country Qatar also for the left hand thing is because in islam the prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to loved his Right hand so in the islamic Quran it says you must eat and drink with your right hand so Qataris don't like when you violate the islamic terms
Why are you talking about this Muhammad like he actually exists and you know he does? Nobody knows that any God exists so they should live life for the hearing now the most importantly for themselves not for some god. Who cares what another God did in 1920 or whatever it just doesn't matter you are your own person and you should be your own person. And who cares what they like and don't like at the end of the day not everybody has to believe what you believe most of us want to just enjoy life where we have it.
Having lived in that region, the rules are this. Do whatever you want to do but just do it respectfully and do not represent loudly anything that may be taken as against the culture. Have a drink by all means but don’t walk down the street drunk as a skunk. Say anything you like in conversation but don’t say it loudly if you’re swearing. I’m just behave as if you were supposed to behave Because you’re not supposed to get drunk and walk down the street swearing your head off. Just behave as you want anywhere decently and you’ll be fine and left alone.
Qatar does not want you to be there. I don't understand your kind. If you hate it, why are you watching videos about Qatar and making a comment? Your time should be spent better.
I lived there. They do not care about what hand you eat with. Most of the population in Doha are migrant workers. I actually barely had any contact with actual Qatari there. Respect their laws don't take photos of government places and religious areas. The police will not bother you. The only time i had interaction with qatari's when you get a driver's license and getting your qid resident card. You definitely cannot wear short shorts, mini skirts or anything revealing like american and canadian culture. It's a peaceful place with no crime or violence. No guns no crime.
Eating with right hand only is a universal rule in the entire Asian continent. Left hand is also completely forbidden in social setting, such as giving and accepting things
Traditionally it was the hand to wipe the feces. Although there’s toilet paper for most nowadays, the cultural practice of avoiding public usage of the left hand rule still exists
in the rest of the world we wash our hands after going to the washroom, so no problem, we can eat with both hands - but yes, if I had no running water and no toilet paper, then I too would only use my left hand to wipe and eat with my right hand
Eating with left hand?!?! Really? Ridiculous! I am left handed and eat left handed. I also use soap and water to wash my hands! No thanks….a vacation is the unwind not follow rules like what hand to use to eat 🤷🏻♀️Geez….life is way too short for that!
The left hand part got me not wanting to visit that country since I’m left handed myself lol. I hate conservatives like people are different and shouldn’t be forced to live a certain lifestyle because of their cultural reasons 🤣
This video makes things sound worse than it is. It's honestly not even that bad. Just visit the place and judge it for yourself. Also understand and accept that the culture and way of life there is different and things will go much smoother. If you like the drinking culture of the UK, don't expect to do the same in Qatar. Enjoy the night life and vibes with some good pals

This was a bit OTT. Of course you can take photos when out sightseeing. I watched a very recent video yesterday where I was slightly taken aback at the short short some female tourists were wearing out and about.
If you want to take any photo or video in Qatar, you have to ask permission first.
@ASH-xt8uh that isn't true. As long as you don't have people in the image then it is OK.
@@MeganConstable-ix2ruAre you allowed to take pictures and videos when you visit mosques? And also set up a tripod and take pictures of yourself
@ayyjayy7071 that's something I would have to check as I have never been inside of a mosque. I feel if people are comfortable with you doing that then I don't see why not

I was about to accept a job in Saudi arabia as a teacher, but my friend got raped in Kuwait and no-one gave a shit . I was trying to learn about Islam but not now
I live in Qatar all this video over exaggeration 😂 most women who came from outside Qatar dress like they pleased and no one talk or comment about their clothes but of course you won't see a woman with thong or bikini in the streets but if you go to beaches and hotel you can see that the dress code is not that restricted and most what you said is over exaggerated you people love to find contents for your videos and lie most people come for western countries are happy with the freedom and luxury they find in Qatar to the point they start looking for jobs 😂 so stop spreading misinformation.
Why would people bring alcohol if you can buy it there?
It is common for tourists to do that in places where alcohol is expensive
@edmundblack8754 to me its worth it to avoid unintended consequences
Ok…I am avoiding Qatar at all costs. Thanks .🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱

Doha airport = avoid at all costs. Surly, threatening security staff.
I was at Doha airport a week ago, the most friendly, helpful staff at the airport. Very clean, not crowded and very clean. The best airport in the world
fake, it’s rated the one of the best airports and and rated the best airline
I already traveled to several Muslim countries including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan and Indonesia, and I am not going back. I don;t like the retrograde way of thinking most of them have, plus the fact that many of the house workers in those countries are foreigners that are abused beyond imagination. And I don;t recommend to any of my friends to go to any of them, specially Saudi Arabia, Iran, the UAE, Qatar and Pakistan. There are many countries in this world that are, IMHO way better places to visit than any of them.
Funny....
The difference between Qatar and Hamas is the spelling. One uses rockets, bullets and tunnels, and the other pays for them.
Amazing country
Hi ☺️
I am not going there never 😂
While shouldn't I photograph ..
U turn 😅😅
Great country i loved it
I'm a flaming homosexual married to another flamboyant homosexual. Can kiss my husband in public on the mouth in Qatar or do you think i should only kiss my homosexual husband on the cheek to show respect for their Muslim ethnicity?

How about not kiss him at all

Hi there! I recently visited and have 20+ tattoos, and I have nose piercings too. I attracted more GOOD attention than bad, getting compliments on my flower sleeve and women saying they thought my double nose piercing was beautiful. Just make sure to cover anything offensive such as “evil” looking tattoos

it’s literally a paradise for us. Everything is free ( electricity, healthcare, education, water ) no taxes, highest salary in the world. If you wanna build a house, you get an advance of $600,000 and when you get married, you get a land to build a house and if you wanna study abroad you get a salary of $30,000 every month. Shame on anyone giving this oppressive country money. Don’t go there. Stick to free countries.
Qatar is not a tourist destination whatsoever. You might meet Hamas or Al Nusra and they don’t pay their bills
5:48 i think better not to go this type of countries still in 7 the century culture and there are better countries in this world for travelling and work
Yep not going there.
Why would you go? I was just watching it on TH-cam.
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WANT TO VISIT QATAR?!!!!
Agree. Qatar is boring. Just leave us alone
No Sleeveless T- Shirt... Short Short's and Police T-Shirt... i think.
Definitely not for Australian, because behaviour problem.
"No driving while woman" in pretty much any middle eastern country. Wonder why?? lol
why would ANYONE want to go there?????
Update: club and bar that serves alcohol are now 18+ rather than 21+
I love my country Qatar also for the left hand thing is because in islam the prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to loved his Right hand so in the islamic Quran it says you must eat and drink with your right hand so Qataris don't like when you violate the islamic terms
I was thinking of visiting Doha but watching this video ( if true ), I have second thoughts. The last 2 is particularly wierd.
There is a lot of misinformation in this video
Yeah
Please elaborate
Tbh if u travel to another country you have to respect their culture
Having lived in that region, the rules are this. Do whatever you want to do but just do it respectfully and do not represent loudly anything that may be taken as against the culture. Have a drink by all means but don’t walk down the street drunk as a skunk. Say anything you like in conversation but don’t say it loudly if you’re swearing. I’m just behave as if you were supposed to behave Because you’re not supposed to get drunk and walk down the street swearing your head off. Just behave as you want anywhere decently and you’ll be fine and left alone.
Do I really have to accept an invitation? My social anxiety does not want to go 😂
Just don’t go there
Sounds like a free loving society. No thanks.
Prefer not to get beheaded for smoking a joint. No thank you
They just don't want you to take pictures of the inhumane treatment of migrant workers.
Not in the entirety of Asia. Only in the Islam countries and India.
@@David-kn4hb bro South East Asia is also like that
Eating with left hand?!?! Really?
