THANKS FOR WATCHING STARDUDE OUTDOORS!
Swapped out the stock grill on my 17 Crosstrek with a full mesh. This video made it a ten minute project. Thank you
+mikerot1968 glad that it helped you out!
Thanks for the video, I will be able to change the pathetic horn for a proper one now!
very nice step by step. geez these are great cars but damn snap together parts.
Great video! My method differs a little bit since I remove the whole bumper :) If you haven't done so yet, next time you remove your grille, grab a rattle can of black paint and hit the radiator with it. It gets rid of any of the "bleed through" of the lighter colored radiator fins.
+Anthony Leger I'll be doing a full bumper removal video soon. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you your video help me very much thanks
Happy to help. Thank you for watching!
would this be pretty much the same for a 2023 ??
Great video! Very informative! Is the grill a pain to put back in with those clips?
Thank you for posting this!
hi, I have the 2019 crosstrek, broke the grill, only the part with hole, the frame around is ok, Can I just buy the grill replacement and use the plastic frame around?
Got stuck at step number one. Removing the snaps. Little bit of a twist and no "pop". What's the trick?
Thank you, u made it look easy
+Ahmed A. Haha, Glad I could help!
Is it hard to put 4 buttom clips back in position? just push? Love your vid.
Was hoping this was going to show how the emblem comes off
You got any tips on plasti dipping the grille? I wanna do mine like yours. Thanks and love the videos
+brwi1 watch my video on how I did the Fog Light "L" panels. That is pretty much how I did the grille. Only other thing I did was to carefully and precisely cover to Subaru emblem. I like the logo emblem as the centerpiece to the black grille instead of the full blackout on a lot of other cars. Just take your time and be precise.
+brwi1 after I removed the grill, I did t disassemble it in any way. I plastidipped it all in one piece. Just covered the emblem with painters tape.
thanks!
is there a way to just remove the chrome pieces on the grill?
+Jed Veluz yes there is. After you remove the grill, there are screws along the inside that hold the chrome pieces on. Undo those and you can do just the chrome.
StarDude Outdoors
i want to just PD the chrome pieces without dipping the other area.
+Jed Veluz sounds good! Go for it!
where did you get that grill from?
It’s the original grille, I just plastidipped it all black. Looks good right! I have another vid showing my process. Check them out! Thanks for watching.
Will this work on a 2019 outback? Thanks!
Will this work on a 2019 outback? Thanks!
I got all clips broke but like its 6years old so dont matter 😅
Stardude! My friend, can I ask a favor? I have a '15 Crosstrek and noticed that, with the car off, I can pull the belt tensioner pulley towards the front of the car - if you're under your hood anytime soon, could you see if yours does this? I'm not sure if it's normal or not to be able to move this in and out. Here's a video of me doing this. I'd really really appreciate it man! vimeo.com/272868630
