      Yeah your getting lucky compared to me, the problem really shows up under load in reverse, I didn't notice it at any other time.

    Hi! Great work, you made it perfect! Same Problem at the SCX 6 Diff's... Mighty backlash and lot's of broken teeth...

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have the SCX6?

    • @michaeltrilck5680

      @@SteadfastRC Yeah, Front Diff is broken... May be 2,5h... Befor you start with it, check ALL the components... It is better for your wallet... Internet is full of broken SCX6 Diff's... there are also GREASED(!!!) Slipper Clutches and dry Gearboxes to find on TH-cam. Lot's of people have problems. Not just the boys who always break everything... More problems than the 1/10 scale AXIAL'S... My opinion... BUT i say also the SCX 6 is a GOOD RC CAR! The problem is AXIAL'S Quality - Management, sloppy processing IN China. And there are some points to make much better... Steering servo moves in the bracket, wishbone(?) bracket is weakly dimensioned. If the servo moves, you can see the flex in the bracket... You see, there is a lot potencial to make it better...

      @@michaeltrilck5680 exactly dude you're preaching to the choir on that one, I'm trying to find someone who is willing to work with me on developing a shim kit for it after hearing about all the problems people been having, axial sure isn't going to do it under horizons management. Do you live in the US and can you use calipers to take precision measurements?

      @@SteadfastRC I am so sorry, Sir! I am from germany... And we are measure metric all... And a another problem for me is, my bad bad english... There are lot's of types of shims from other manufacturer or from AXIAL too/other earlier RC-models you can use... I am not the big mighty expert for all this RC something. But i have learned a lot in the last 2,5years about RC... I am a toolmaker and a machinist, i know a little bit about play, backlash, steel quality, and so on... Thanks shit Corona,I've had a lot of time, you know... A new hobby for me 😉 😎 👍

    Going to be checking my umg6x6 as soon as it arrives. The stock bearings are 7x14x3.5 so I'm looking to see if I can simply fit a 7x14x4 on that side to make the robust mod to the axle! We'll see! This video is so helpful though thank you shimming is definitely plan B 👍

    Nice, I just grabbed a all metal aftermarket set an they are smooth one direction grind n clack the other direction. Maybe this could fix the issue, I've gone through them greased them up an still the same hopefully this fixed it. Thanks for sharing I was at a loss on why, an about ready to return them.

    If found this only happens with the stock sintered metal 1 piece ring gear and locker ring/ pinion sets. Never had this with and under or overdrive machined gear sets.

    Just saw you vid about the shims....recently broke My rear axle housing on my base camp...getting ready to make the swap with new housing. So should I expect the new set up needing your shims. I've never heard and noise from the old setup, whatcha think??

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@longcrawler I've never heard of breaking the actual housing so I'm not quite sure about that, all I can tell you is when you're putting the new gears in make sure they don't have excessive slop between them, I don't sell the shims anymore but you could make some pretty easily if you needed to out of a milk jug or something.

    I'm putting this axle together right now going from the older kit version axle to this newer updated version. The question I have it what keeps the bearing and axle shaft from just sliding out? The old style had a lockout but this one doesn't?

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Are you referring to the outer bearings?

    • @dangood6670
      @dangood6670 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @SteadfastRC yeah I figured it out, the holes at the ends a for screws to hold the bearing in place

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dangood6670 yep you got it bud, it's kind of deceiving because the screw heads barely catch the outer race of the bearings
