Never fails to amaze me how many older and newer scanias at these show are Aberdeen registered. I grew up V8 spotting in and around Aberdeen and must be 1000’s up here.
The Essex tilt looks class ,love in all these restorations nipper pure class
Thanks mate - appreciated!🤙
Nice to see the Essex International Truck, my dad drove for them for a short while back in the late 70s or maybe very early 80s, I may have mentioned it before on one of your previous uploads.
What was your fathers name ?
@@nippertherestoman His name was Tom. He was a mechanic most of his life starting during the second world war, not sure directly after the war, but then a mechanic for a sand and ballast company repairing their tippers. The yard was right next to our house and was our playground, the company was then taken over by Pointer, who later became Quinto. The tipper side of things were sold off to another company when it moved to Drakes Lane Boreham near Chelmsford, I'm guessing this is where Essex International were based at the time and I reason it must have been late 70s as he had two more jobs after, one working for the council and the other for Truck Development Company, which I believe is now called Essex Bodies. He passed away in 1983 aged 63.
Hi nipper great content lots of beautiful trucks it must be satisfying to see quite a few trucks you restored and to see there owners keeping them in top condition I many years ago drove volvo trucks did many miles , . Then I bought a scania 164 v8 just like your one now I have a six month scania 770s super v8 there is something special with this 770s v8 puts a smile on my face every day enjoyed this video very much nipper hope to see part 2 soon
I still get a buzz everyday I’m out in the 164 although I’d like a 770 too , need to do a load more work & videos before I could afford one though 😂
These 143 and other resoration videos are great! Great mix of tech details, general interest and humour! At risk of turning the comments into a discussion board, anyone here know the back story on Scania painting engine blocks green? They are usually painted green when restored, but I have a 1996 year 143, and the block is light grey, with no sign of ever being green?
I can tell you that mate 😂, they were all painted from the start of production to green but as time went on & costs it was a lot more cost effective to paint them grey the same as the chassis’s & continues to be this way today , a lot when restoring paint green more for a detail than anything else , the change started around 1992 as I’ve seen some both green & grey from unrestored trucks from this period - hope that helps 👍
Hi nipper, i was and swedefest with my son, jacob, you absolutely made his day by taking the time to talk to him and having a picture with him, its proudly displayed in his bedroom
Thanks mate glad he was happy 👌🤙🤙
Fantastic video Nipper some amazing Griffins and Ovlovs. Swedefest seems right up my street when it comes to my preference for Swedish trucks! Can't wait for pt 2!
Thanks for the vid Nipper!

Remember the centurion coming out was at Brighton Kelly Birmingham were sponsored the truck show 1995 ish .' Having driven the older one for a living great 👍 content plenty of banter 👌 👏 👍 😊
I’d imagine it would have been ‘92/93 as they announced in ‘92 but were all predominantly out in 1993 mate 🤙
My son was very young then I was doing European 🇪🇺 from 1979 my son was born 1981 in 85 I was driving Germany 🇩🇪 in a daf 2800
@@nippertherestomanI have video evidence, Peterborough truckfest with Centurions in it, 1992. The Centurions started in 1991.

Well Nipper If I’d have been there with you
I’d have made you crack open that Tullamore Dew and you could have shown me around those SCANIA’S,,that 111 looks absolutely amazing better than NEW I’ll say 🏴 🚚 👍🏻 🥃 ( I Bet That Box On That Fifth Wheel Is Full Of Jameson 🥃 )
Haha be a 🏴bottle next , I was gifted the tullamore dew so out of respect it’s there but not far from change soon 😂, the box took a load of rockshore lager to me in a previous video 🤙

It was good meeting Nipper . See you at the next meeting mate.
Same as that mate
@nippertherestoman can you help me please mate on malcoms red bull nose volvo at swedefest this year. The grill illuminated red .. I absolutely love it any chance of passing Me the secret as I want to do that to my old girl
Are u going to full of the pipe in Ireland ?
I used to work With Phil Barker, he can keep a truck clean but he does go through some jobs 😂
Hey Nipper great work you do on these trucks keep up the good work. Can I ask you have you stopped making content with Trucker Tim as don't see you with him or the other guys? Love your truck and times also Mr Malcoms trucks being a former Paisley boy Myself
Haven’t fallen out exactly just haven’t done content together for some time - both a lot busier now with different projects so I don’t see him as much mate 🤙
The 142 with over 4 million km on it is an Old danish truck. It is now owned by Peter Wouters i Belgium
I knew some one would keep me right ! - testament to the original owner 💪💪✅
Magnetic stickers don't stick to plastic doors?
Cmon niall😂😂
What stuff do you use to clean your truck
Personally I use zephyr pro 30 just because I like the product, there is plenty as good but I stick with what I know
middle east trucking does it best lad 🤝
Seriously tough drivers back then then working in sometimes unimaginable conditions
the ex Countrywide scania used to be a stunning truck inside and out but looks like the time spent on low loader work for agricultural dealers has left a few marks on it. hope the current owner can bring it back to the high standard it ounce had.
Little off topic nipper, but is Susie Wolff a relative of a certain crane company from your neck of the woods ?
Not to my knowledge 🤙🤙
okay just noticed her at the f1 on sunday and they have a few old clips with her own name susie stoddart, I know she's from Oban, but her wiki says her uncle is David ? @@nippertherestoman
⭐✌️
What happened between you and trucker Tim ?
Nothing mate just both have busier commitments & doing different things now
@@nippertherestoman aw yeah I get you know I just didn’t see you in his videos or him in yours was just asking mate was a good video 👍🏻
