Wow,I was born in Slovenia and lived there for almost 40 years..For years now we’re sailing around the world and living full time aboard.Nice to see known places,I hope you will visit Slovenia again in future.Regards from Kuala Terengganu-Rally Sail Malaysia to the East⛵️🍀
👍 Hi Sam, watched every week almost now since USA to Hawaii. I just have to say how you make things look easy.... traveling and learning laws of new countries, the navigation from sea to sea,.. while having fun no matter what the challenge is., solo! Sail on, Solo Sailor 👍⛵✌️
Sam the Sailing Man is back at it again. Nice to see Pickle back out on the water Sam. Your slow speed- prop & hull growth after sitting for the winter months. Cleaning this up when you hit your next on the hard location should improve your speed through the water. Don't forget about those motor mounts either, once you get the right size for your motor. Thanks for the Stars & Stripes shot. Looks good, along with your haircut too. That Sam smile of sailing satisfaction on the high seas never gets old to me.
I added this- very cool hand-built sailboat by your viewer. You're gonna need your AIS working Sam. Fixing these little problems now will save you headaches later down the road. Navionics subscription matters. Kool flying over the countryside. Holy water at the church of St. Sam saved you on that long walk. Then an angel appeared and gave you a ride. Gravity downhill by air or by foot- so long as you get back to the Pickle. Good seeing that Sam smile of satisfaction again.
If you installed the winches properly, the winch handle might work. The line stripper, that's the horn you put the line on for the last wrap in the self tailing jaws, should be in board so the line exits the winch into the cockpit. Hope that helps. Enjoy your time on the boat.
My son (5yo) was watching over my shoulder and said, “That looks like a cool boat!” So yeah, now there’s two people in my house, who are prepared to join join Sam’s cult of personality!😂
There is SOOOOOO much to recommend Slovenia! Thanks for sharing this video - stay well and safe exploring Europe. Hello from Auckland, New Zealand : - )
Lingenberry locked to a random tree was a classic image and out a much needed smile on my face 😁. Glad to see you sailing again (and videos for the rest of us)
There is a line in the movie 'Second Hand Lion' that you truly exemplify. The quote is an answer to the question, the two men in grandpa's story really lived, the answer defines you adventures. Yes they truly lived!! That defines you, thank you for bringing me along.
I've been to Piran during my first sea cruise. We started from Izola, then went to Venice, got back to the eastern shore of Adriatic in Piran, then sail a little ways down south to dip into Croatia, as far south as Rovinj, then back north to Izola by the way of Umag.
17,611th view gonna happen sooner or later... 1.4K+ LIKE posted at the 14:55 segment - very cool exchange between you two sailors. Good onya, Sam - for helping him out. "Cheers!"
That was a great episode. Too bad about the paraglider flight, that would have been a perfect ending to a fantastic day. Never a dull moment with Sam Holmes.
When I had a boat with a tiller I really wanted to finally get a boat with a steering wheel. Now that I have a boat with a steering wheel I would rather have a tiller😂
I done both. On the 50 foot gulfstar a wheel. I did steer it a few times with the emergency tiller. A beast. The S2 9.2 was a tiller what was nice that I could put the tiller out of the way for relaxing in the cockpit at anchor.
I finally bought a 17 foot Vagabond sloop after watching you for 2 years. And then all of a sudden, I end up with a 14 foot Cat rigged Flying Fish all in a month. #summertimelivingiseasy
Yep..Navionics is losing its shine- charges more with more inconveniences. I guess were at least getting more of something! I've been looking to 'jump ship'. Cruising forums mention some alternatives. Looking forward to learning what you'll switch to. Anyway, great seeing your new season off to a good start! Dean
If you do end up heading out through Gibraltar it will be interesting to see how the increased traffic looks. I don't know, maybe it's always hectic through there with cargo ships.
Sam what a perfect day wake up on a Sailboat mess around in a C-182 then an attempt at a Paragliding flight. I have been messing around with flying machines since I was 18 now 66. I also fly Hang gliders and Paragliders too. Prefer Hang gliders but a paraglider is perfect for a boat. I have had a dream to go sailing since I was in my teens hopefully next year is the year! Thanks for your low key no drama videos.
After I meet up w my friend who hand built a sailboat I like to fly over the mountains in another guys plane and afterwards finish the day w some platform jumping.
Love the classic Sam Holmes opening. No music, no intro, just let's get going.
That home built sail boat is lovely. He is really lucky to have a 6 year project with his dad! I am sure he has loads of memories from that time. ♥
It’s unsound
It takes more of a man to NOT jump when the conditions aren't right. Congrats.
That guy's boat was pretty cool.

Your viewer has a really cool dinghy. Wonderful craftsmanship.
Thanks man!
Thanks for putting out honest videos without the created drama.
You bet
What a stunning little self made sailboat!
So inspired
The world provides and the Dude abides

The real sailing channel.
Nah sailing doodles is the realest. Nothing like a skilled crew with inflatable life vest tits and a pervy old man. Makes for great technical sailing.

Finally! You pushed me to get a sailboat again back in Sweden, and I've been looking forward to your videos all winter :)
But you didn't drill any holes in your boat.
Got so many now that I call her "Swiss Pickle"..
Lol :)
Speed holes. Makes the boat go faster
Using existing holes - sort of construction kit...
Really cool meeting up and sailing with the guy in Slovenia

Very cool! Such a wonderful wooden boat, really lovely. Enjoy life!
Thanks for spilling the beans on this journey.
Until I saw that, I HAD been thinking that I might get one of those jet boil stoves. 😕

So glad you're back, thanks for sharing!

It's the same thing only different

Great father son project!
Glad you're doing okay, one day I'd like to see you in a bigger boat. You're living your dream you're an inspiration.
Yes to bigger!
His boat is perfect!
Sailor and pilot? What a cool friend.
Slovenia is a beautiful country. The people are low key.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up when I saw that tuna!

The makeup of the breakwater is I believe dolo,s they use them on the west coast
Great, Sam's back, yeah I know but these are the videos I'm here for.
You are a top geezer for helping him. If you ever need anything near the river crouch (essex, thames) I can arrange it. Cheers.
Welcome back Sam. Good to listen to your positive attitude again and delighted that you got a hair cut😂
I finally bought a 17 foot Vagabond sloop after watching you for 2 years. And then all of a sudden, I end up with a 14 foot Cat rigged Flying Fish all in a month. #summertimelivingiseasy
Haha they tend to multiply
One of your best episodes!
Yay, authentic solo Sam is back !! Looking forward to your Atlantic return crossing.
Another great video, Sam. I especially enjoyed the Polka music in the end, along with some of your visited places. Polka music is always fun. 😂
Keep exploring Sam! These are my favorite videos.
Sam Holmes, doing it right.
Gorgeous place. That is where my great grandparents are from. Not far from that lake.
Nice video, like always!

Thanks for the warning away from those folding winch handles. They certainly looked appealing. 😝
Pity about the wind changing, would have liked to see you flying. Good to see you back on the water!
I used to work for Navionics. I hate them too. 😂
Awesome! Looks like an epic adventure.
Too bad you missed your para-ride - looked pretty cool off that cliff!
6:09 You spilled the beans! 😂
Ok I'm done
If you do end up heading out through Gibraltar it will be interesting to see how the increased traffic looks. I don't know, maybe it's always hectic through there with cargo ships.
New winches have sweet sounds
If I knew you were in Portoroz, I would come to say hi! I was on that regatta with genakers😃
What a blast! Love your friends boat! ❤

Thanks for sharing - I thought that was Sam on
a cleaned up Pickled Herring @0:27 seconds.
Whil😢single handing from Cabo to San diego we placed socks around the edge of the hatch stopping the leaking
I'd go against the current and the wind and with no motor and no sails for Ana Lin. So, you've got that going for you, which is nice.
Nice sail with the local on the gaff rig!
What a life dude! very cool.

After I meet up w my friend who hand built a sailboat I like to fly over the mountains in another guys plane and afterwards finish the day w some platform jumping.
OSPHO (phosphoric acid) for that rust stain up forward. Will not harm or discolor your deck but WILL remove the rust stain.
Thats stuff works great. I need to get some
I throughly enjoy your videos also I like your personality.
Cool little gaff rigged boat
Good to see you sailing again!
