That home built sail boat is lovely. He is really lucky to have a 6 year project with his dad! I am sure he has loads of memories from that time. ♥
It’s unsound
It takes more of a man to NOT jump when the conditions aren't right. Congrats.
That guy's boat was pretty cool.
Your viewer has a really cool dinghy. Wonderful craftsmanship.
Thanks man!
When I had a boat with a tiller I really wanted to finally get a boat with a steering wheel. Now that I have a boat with a steering wheel I would rather have a tiller😂
It's the same thing only different
I done both. On the 50 foot gulfstar a wheel. I did steer it a few times with the emergency tiller. A beast. The S2 9.2 was a tiller what was nice that I could put the tiller out of the way for relaxing in the cockpit at anchor.
The real sailing channel.
Nah sailing doodles is the realest. Nothing like a skilled crew with inflatable life vest tits and a pervy old man. Makes for great technical sailing.
What a stunning little self made sailboat!
So inspired
I love the Navionics review: "I hate you more and more everyday"
😂😂😂
All subscriptionware sucks, especially the ones that hold your life in their hands. 🤬
This is why I BOUGHT a “lifetime“ pro to Windy, instead of subscribing to PredictWind.
Got to find a comparable tool, to OWN not rent, for navigation.
My son (5yo) was watching over my shoulder and said, “That looks like a cool boat!” So yeah, now there’s two people in my house, who are prepared to join join Sam’s cult of personality!😂
👍 Hi Sam, watched every week almost now since USA to Hawaii. I just have to say how you make things look easy.... traveling and learning laws of new countries, the navigation from sea to sea,.. while having fun no matter what the challenge is., solo! Sail on, Solo Sailor 👍⛵✌️
Great video! Thanks.
The hair on the back of my neck stood up when I saw that tuna!
Finally! You pushed me to get a sailboat again back in Sweden, and I've been looking forward to your videos all winter :)
Beautiful passage!
Good to see you sailing again!
What a wonderful video. Thank you.
Great to have you back Sam.
What a blast! Love your friends boat! ❤
That was a lovely, lovely video Sam. Thank you.😊👍🏻
The world provides and the Dude abides

Man, you came to my country! So sweet to see familiar coast an you being there.
It's good to see you are growing your hair out again. Thanks Sam. 😊❤
This guy is smiling no matter the conditions. Good on you.
Sam Holmes, doing it right.
Great video.airplane ride looked amazing. Very beautiful
Very cool! Such a wonderful wooden boat, really lovely. Enjoy life!
Nice video, like always!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Lingenberry locked to a random tree was a classic image and out a much needed smile on my face 😁. Glad to see you sailing again (and videos for the rest of us)
Great father son project!
Another great video, Sam. I especially enjoyed the Polka music in the end, along with some of your visited places. Polka music is always fun. 😂
Bled lake, Triglav, Planica. Awesome to see them again after 45 years!
11.23 yet another reason we support you - no BS !
Awesome video.Cool meeting friends out on the high seas or on land.✌️😎🍿🍿🍿🍿
Sweet little boat that your viewer has there!
Welcome to my country!
Pretty country.
I have been following you for years and I love your videos.
Thanks
Welcome back Sam. Good to listen to your positive attitude again and delighted that you got a hair cut😂
Thanks for spilling the beans on this journey.
Until I saw that, I HAD been thinking that I might get one of those jet boil stoves. 😕
But you didn't drill any holes in your boat.
Got so many now that I call her "Swiss Pickle"..
Lol :)
Speed holes. Makes the boat go faster
Using existing holes - sort of construction kit...
Thanks for sharing - I thought that was Sam on
a cleaned up Pickled Herring @0:27 seconds.
Thanks!
Sam the Sailing Man is back at it again. Nice to see Pickle back out on the water Sam.
Your slow speed- prop & hull growth after sitting for the winter months. Cleaning this up
when you hit your next on the hard location should improve your speed through the water.
Don't forget about those motor mounts either, once you get the right size for your motor.
Thanks for the Stars & Stripes shot. Looks good, along with your haircut too.
That Sam smile of sailing satisfaction on the high seas never gets old to me.
I added this- very cool hand-built sailboat by your viewer. You're gonna need your AIS working Sam.
Fixing these little problems now will save you headaches later down the road. Navionics subscription matters.
Kool flying over the countryside. Holy water at the church of St. Sam saved you on that long walk.
Then an angel appeared and gave you a ride.
Gravity downhill by air or by foot- so long as you get back to the Pickle.
Good seeing that Sam smile of satisfaction again.
Sailor and pilot? What a cool friend.
Gorgeous place. That is where my great grandparents are from. Not far from that lake.
Sam what a perfect day wake up on a Sailboat mess around in a C-182 then an attempt at a Paragliding flight. I have been messing around with flying machines since I was 18 now 66. I also fly Hang gliders and Paragliders too. Prefer Hang gliders but a paraglider is perfect for a boat. I have had a dream to go sailing since I was in my teens hopefully next year is the year! Thanks for your low key no drama videos.
There is SOOOOOO much to recommend Slovenia! Thanks for sharing this video - stay well and safe exploring Europe. Hello from Auckland, New Zealand : - )
You are a top geezer for helping him. If you ever need anything near the river crouch (essex, thames) I can arrange it. Cheers.
Crossing back over the Atlantic, long ways away but too cool, the Bahamas look amazing lol ✌️
I've been to Piran during my first sea cruise. We started from Izola, then went to Venice, got back to the eastern shore of Adriatic in Piran, then sail a little ways down south to dip into Croatia, as far south as Rovinj, then back north to Izola by the way of Umag.
There is a line in the movie 'Second Hand Lion' that you truly exemplify. The quote is an answer to the question, the two men in grandpa's story really lived, the answer defines you adventures. Yes they truly lived!! That defines you, thank you for bringing me along.
17,611th view gonna happen sooner or later... 1.4K+ LIKE posted at the 14:55 segment - very cool exchange between you two sailors.
Good onya, Sam - for helping him out. "Cheers!"
That was a great episode. Too bad about the paraglider flight, that would have been a perfect ending to a fantastic day. Never a dull moment with Sam Holmes.
*Those tuna were schooling and eating, Sam!! That was a perfect opportunity to bust out your fishing pole!!!* 🎣🐟🚣♂️
Too bad you missed your para-ride - looked pretty cool off that cliff!
Pity about the wind changing, would have liked to see you flying. Good to see you back on the water!
Buon viaggio!
Thanks for the warning away from those folding winch handles. They certainly looked appealing. 😝
So glad you're back, thanks for sharing!
Yep..Navionics is losing its shine- charges more with more inconveniences. I guess were at least getting more of something! I've been looking to 'jump ship'. Cruising forums mention some alternatives. Looking forward to learning what you'll switch to. Anyway, great seeing your new season off to a good start!
Dean
Excellent
Nice, my home airport at the end. I'm flying gliders there. :D In fact by the planes I saw on the video, I just missed you by one day hehe
Godspeed buddy....from Oriental, N.C.
Im embarking on a western med cruise out of Trieste in May. I love the Adriatic.
If you installed the winches properly, the winch handle might work. The line stripper, that's the horn you put the line on for the last wrap in the self tailing jaws, should be in board so the line exits the winch into the cockpit. Hope that helps. Enjoy your time on the boat.
Wow! What a trip man! Even got to fly the plane! That’s so cool! I got to fly a beaver plane years ago it had pontoons!
I am excited to watch your adventures this season! Take care Sam!
Very cool. I flew in a Beaver with skis once in Alaska. Such a rad airplane
@@samholmessailing With skis? That’s awesome! Kinda scary at times but a cool experience! The one I was in the engine stalled and I was freaking out for a bit haha. The pilot got it going again, and I have to change my pants lol Pretty cool the people you get to meet on your adventures!
Good one.
If I knew you were in Portoroz, I would come to say hi! I was on that regatta with genakers😃
Hello sam i am from slovenia and i love your videos. if i knew earlier, i would bring you a slice of slovenian cake to the coast.
Thanks for putting out honest videos without the created drama.
You bet
Wow,I was born in Slovenia and lived there for almost 40 years..For years now we’re sailing around the world and living full time aboard.Nice to see known places,I hope you will visit Slovenia again in future.Regards from Kuala Terengganu-Rally Sail Malaysia to the East⛵️🍀
Thank you
I'd go against the current and the wind and with no motor and no sails for Ana Lin. So, you've got that going for you, which is nice.
Really cool meeting up and sailing with the guy in Slovenia
Glad you're doing okay, one day I'd like to see you in a bigger boat. You're living your dream you're an inspiration.
Yes to bigger!
His boat is perfect!
bon voyage
Hi
Cool to be in Slovenia
