      Thanks Eli, the tomatoes are getting going now, I was late planting them in but they seem to be getting away now. 😊

    I can’t believe how productive your garden is. So much growing! The blackberries are just amazing.
    Tomatoes so far along and everything just looks like it’s taken off since the last walk around. Great use of the quad grow tray. Neat idea!
    Not sure everything is thriving here but surviving for sure 😊

      Some things are surviving like the cucumbers and squashes, I think it is just too cold for them, surely we must have some warm weather again soon. Thanks for watching Clare, hope your staying warm, I kid you not I had a scarf on in the garden today and two hoodies!!

    Apple tree looks great and way ahead of mine. Your courgettes are however far behind mine. I am going to harvest my first tomorrow.

  • @dogontheplot

    Definitely just surviving here!
    Your blackberries coming already tho. And fancy that self seeded lupin doing so well. Your carrots are doing better than mine - I'm having a terrible carrot year so far! Live & learn indeed! Onto next year... 😂

    • @bethanskitchengarden
      @bethanskitchengarden  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes some years are better for some crops than others, not too late to sow some more carrots, I'm hoping to do some in pots this coming week.
      😂 yes it's always the way with self seeded plants isn't it, they do so much better, trouble is they are always in the wrong place 😂
      Next year you will have your allotment greenhouse from the start which will be one less job 😊

    Hi Bethan if you pick half of the apples off now then next year you might get a harvest too. The tree puts so much into producing the fruit that it needs the next year to recover so by picking half off now it won't use as much energy.👍🙏👌😁❤️

    • @bethanskitchengarden
      @bethanskitchengarden  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Nick, if I get a chance I will give it a go, it's a big tree though, not looking forward to that job 😂

    Everything in the main looking fabulous 😍
    We bought thornless blackberries too this year. Much better to tie up and harvest.
    Gee you have so much growing in your garden, how do you fit it all in! Cabbage look good enough to harvest, ours are a bit shy to grow 😂 Enjoyed your plot tour 😍xx

    • @bethanskitchengarden
      @bethanskitchengarden  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Linda, I fit them all in by sheer brute force 😂 Yes the thornless blackberries are so awesome. I have almost harvested all my soft fruit now so it's just the gooseberries to go and they have thorns 😩
      Hope your cabbages pick up soon, I will be harvesting mine tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and hopefully catch up with you in the summer 😁

    Hey Bethan, I’ve seen our first 3 cabbage white butterflies this week!!!
    Hopefully warmer days to come 😂
    I’m with you on the fennel, hard to grow and for the amount I eat it isn’t worth it.
    Everything is looking great ❤ must pickle out beets today.
    Ahh sorry about your plum tree 😢oh wow apple, pear and cherry trees not done well. Will stay clear of the grafted trees from now on.
    Touch wood, no allium leaf minor damage on the onions this year❤
    I’m digging up my lupin, just in the wrong place and bits of it have aphids on it.
    Looking forward to trying the yellow courgettes, planted them in the ground yesterday, so hopefully not too long to wait now.
    Not a year for pears I don’t think, not doing anywhere as well as the apples.
    I was just saying to Tricia, hardly any apples fell in the June drop this year. Ours is too high to thin the clumps out.
    We’ve had two gooseberries from 4 plants, terrible year for them here.
    Great tour of your entire growing space.
    Have a wonderful day
    Love Allie & Tricia xx😊🤗

      I think fruit is struggling this year, I think it has been the wind and rain. My fruit trees and bushes in general have not produced as much as last year and I can tell because I haven't made as much wine as normal and my freezers are not bulging with fruit that is waiting to be made into wine but never mind, there's always next year.
      Fingers crossed for your yellow courgettes. My lupin had loads of aphids on it in April/May time just before the ladybirds got going and I cut back the flowers and they regrew the flowers, it must be really happy in my gravel and hardcore 😂

    😂😂 better late than never it’s been a busy week. But I got a cuppa to watch and ramble with you. I had a lovage tree 🤣 once and I do mean only once, it took over an entire bed. We have cabbage whites here too 😢 in full force. I’m making a list of oh I 😂 won’t grow that again. WOW an abundance of blackberries, I have 2 apples 🍏 which is a 100% improvement from last year. Quite a few people said 😢 they got no plums this year. Self seeded is so strong isnt it. Like me you have loads of self seeded aqualigia. I think all gardeners have hindsight by July 😮. 21:01 oh a beer garden 😅. Do you worry about the tomato plants in the bags sitting in too much rainwater?
    Ok I’ll stop writing a novel suffice it to say I love wandering about your garden and having a conversation. Hope the sun is shining and the garden is calling, Ali 🌞 24c 🇨🇦

    • @bethanskitchengarden
      @bethanskitchengarden  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Ali, you always make me laugh. No the bags should be fine as they have a hole that allows the excess water to drain out, I'm hoping to do a more in-depth video on them soon as they look like a really good piece of kit.
      Yes the lovage is relentless, if only asparagus was like that 😂 Take care and thanks Ali 😊

    Hi Bethan my golden acre cabbage are tiny compared to yours 😂, I don't have much success with cabbage. I have a pear tree with 2 varieties on and it doesn't do great either. Everything is looking great. 👌🙏👍😁❤️

      Thanks Nick, I have not been impressed with any of my duo trees, I was actually thinking of taking them out of the barrels and planting straight in the ground. I find cabbages fairly ok, it's cauliflowers that are my nemesis. Take care 😊
