I had no idea about Field guns for infantry, that's amazing. I can just imagine a scenario where you have squads of infantry manning mech-scale weapons, operating like turrets in a base defense. I love the flavour that adds.

check out the Golem BA - mounts Paired Bear Hunter shavc under each arm and an ADV SRM5 with one reload (as back up >:} ) they remove infantry, light mechs, vehicles. if you can get them in a city in well placed ambushes, they ruin your opponents day. [ sometimes said opponent will not talk to you for a bit over how badly he felt getting most of his assault star head caped in the first round of an ambush. -- what i wanted to prove to him that his mighty assault omni mechs were just tin cans.] Any way, i think they are up your alley

Just getting back into Battletech after finding my old sourcebooks and ordering the alpha strike box set. Didn’t think there would be a scene in Perth! Ripper stuff guys keep up the content

Support weapons would be like the SAW ,(squad automatic weapon) or a Recoilless Rifle.
Those magnetic mines sound deadly.
I didn't know about the inferno missile vs BA . Tech Manual, I guess, is where I'd find how Mech/vehicle weapons affect them. Is there bonus Flamer damage against BA (aside from Salamander BA of course)

Flamer is an Area Effect weapon, so it deals the 2 damage to each of the BA in the squad.

Also, check out Gnome BA. Improved SRM2s, Small Lasers and they take 15 pts each to kill. Another Hell's Horses invention.

The Gnome is a Clan Heavy BA. It has a Claw, and can ride on friendly mechs but is too heavy to perform swarm attacks. The Kanazuchi is the Draconis Assault BA. It has 1 more armor point than the Gnome, and has a Claw but is too heavy to use it to ride friendly mechs.
