Always amaze me. I can weld. The creativity and common sense with the welding makes you an artist. People like you are few and far between. Thanks for sharing.
Bill Callahan I think that's where the Thumbs Down must come from....people just can't get that he doesn't work from plans or drawings, he works on things he sees in his mind !
I was actually thinking of modifying a steel barrel to do something similar using wood chunks instead of charcoal-did you come up with a better solution?
Love your work! Suggestion if you ever have to do a large charcoal starter again. A second handle toward the bottom at 90 degrees to the other makes tipping something like that easier…. . My 2 cents. Thank you again for the videos…I’m learning a lot!
This guy is amazing excellent fabrication. He makes it look so easy and hard worker. I'm wonder if his son is interested in what pops is doing Allen is a wealth of knowledge. I have been around this type of work most of my life his accracy blowes me away not to mention he is deadley with that cutting torch
Hey Allen, like Dirk suggested a second swivel handle like the Weber chimneys would help control it, if you ever build anymore. It looks great, I like heavy duty.
That’s not a chimney...that’s a dang foundry!!! Awesome build man. Can you make one similar to the BBQ Dragon chimney that has the round port at the bottom to attach the bbq dragon fan?
Allen you should get a magnetic drill press I destroyed my elbows drilling truck frame rails Preserve your body nothing wrong with doing it the easy way May be needs a horizontal handle at the top for dumping
I think with a little bit of ingenuity you might explore a way to slide the lighter can into the front of the grill, or lay down in it,and use it for holding the fire until after cooking and it's cool, you can slide it back out and dump the ashes out in the garbage. I bet you can figure out what I'm talking about or something better...
what would you recommend for someone who doesn't have welding tools, like myself? I have a corded rotary tool, 18 volt cordless drill l, drill bits and step drill bit. I'm sure I can still construct something but need your advice.
You need a way to join metal if you want to build something out of metal. Bolting things together is an option but it takes so much more time compared to welding.
On the next one go to the dollar store and get a stainless steel stockpot and cut out the end with a jigsaw and do what you done here. The stainless steel may seem light but it will never burn out.
wow man I have seen you really grow over a few years on you tube great video awesome projects hey when u can get u a mag drill they are magnetic and are way easier on the back thanks for staying true and making some awesome BBQ smokers and other stuff it's sucks when u see a grill at a department store made out of steel as thin as a soda can people are missing out I would like to get up with some time about building a reverse flow pit thanks
Great video Allen... I love all your projects... You said you didn't want to turn on the charcoal because you didn't have anything to put on the grill... Shit just take one of those chickens that are always running around...😂😂😂
Yo: You do a GREAT job with your craftsmanship!! I hope you fare well!! However, I'd just pass-out if you showed up to work one day with a suit & tie on..lololol :) aka White Collar Welder!! :)
Love to see your work. You seem like a real nice, down to earth, person. Being humble gets people far. God bless!
I agree!
Nice project, because of the size and the amount of screaming hot coals I think a longer or even two handles would give more control handling it.
I believe the second handle should be perpendicular to the first for better leaverage, just like on an angle grinder

Awesome. I love the ideas affordable for the average dude. Love your channel.
Very nice job Allen!
Damn, good idea. It doesn't seem like you ever need a drawing or print, just going with what feels right. Another great build.
I love the hexagonal shape (looks awesome) !! Looking at the size of it you could use it as a bbq on its own.
First I was thinking I buy one , second I was thinking I build one...now after this video I know how , thanks .
You make everything so simple. God bless.
Looks awesome mate, we don't really use charcoal bbqs that often in aus. I might have to build myself one of these and give it a try!
You are a fantastic fabricator!
I built one as tall as yours and found out the bottom coals are almost used up by the time the upper coals are ready. Lesson learned, at least for me.

Yea your right, I’ve done a few more since then and started using 2 handles on them
I'm with the dual handle idea cause of the size & weight...good job
Very nice job, that looks great!!
Yet another great vid and again u make it look easy!!!!!

Man that nice if you decide to market it I will buy it.
Hey Allen, like Dirk suggested a second swivel handle like the Weber chimneys would help control it, if you ever build anymore. It looks great, I like heavy duty.
Very nice , it probably needs 2 handle's
Awesome Stuff Allen!!! You the man!!
Awesome build
Can't wait to see the new build!!!
Great job
On the second handle maybe a bail that folds down to the first one
Again super job and one mighty fine channel
GODSPEED
Edward
That’s not a chimney...that’s a dang foundry!!! Awesome build man. Can you make one similar to the BBQ Dragon chimney that has the round port at the bottom to attach the bbq dragon fan?
Great build.
That chimney is also a forge. No forced air required since it's able to suck plenty of air from below.
Never ending ideas, great job
Yeah looks pretty good the only thing I think I would have done different is add an extra handle since it's so big
Allen That was a very good Video, man your a awesome Welder
Nice. I was thinking about making one the other day.
I truly admire your skill/work
Great work man ! Appreciate you sharing it
Nice work brotha👍
Maybe another handle or one twice as long for the 2nd hand. Given all the weight that is. I sure wouldnt mind having a charcoal chimney that large.
Man now THIS is a chimney starter! I can’t stand those little small ones. Great job!
How wide were your flat bar strips
Awesome! Great job!
Allen, what kind of paint do you use on one of these or your grills
Are you using any kind of pattern on those welding runs? Because it looks like you're going in a straight line.
Hey brother what would something like that cost maybe not as big.
I like that i need 1 of those. a regular 1 don't last long at all
What's the height and width, with it standing upright?
May need two handles?
Allen you should get a magnetic drill press
I destroyed my elbows drilling truck frame rails
Preserve your body nothing wrong with doing it the easy way
May be needs a horizontal handle at the top for dumping
How much for one of those?
What does one just like that cost Allen? I'd like one for myself
Nice job 👍
Do you make large chimney starters for sale? If so, how much plus shipping to Atlanta, Ga?
I see this was uploaded in 2017 so, hows that chimney working out?
They work great, good for when your lighting a lot at once
This was awesome. I’m teaching my self to weld tig and I’m making this my next project

Fire it up! I gotta see how this burns.
That’s amazing
That dude who wants that
Will need to be strong 💪
Because it’ll be heavy and hot
Bill P and young too. I’ll bet later on he will build another one out of 18ga.
I need one whats the price?
Customer going to have some massive arms. Lobe it though
would love that to just burn wood in it on a cold night , sipping booze and listening to Crowbar.

RedneckNinja I dont mind the longer time at all, esp since I dont have tools to weld metal
What do you think the lenfth and width of the chimney starter in this video is?
On the next one go to the dollar store and get a stainless steel stockpot and cut out the end with a jigsaw and do what you done here. The stainless steel may seem light but it will never burn out.
Think you just saved me from cutting up a barrel drum lol.
@@edsonk45 yes stainless will never burn out either. It will last forever.
How long is each flat side of that chimney? Awesome job!
I need one and do you sell them ?
Are you taking orders..
How can I purchase this Allen?!?
WOW! Beautiful, sturdy & seriously excellent. Brilliant use of I beam & clamps as a break. I think I can do this!
Talk about Heavy Duty..Nice..
Add one to my order. But with 2 handles.
Good video 👍. I wish I would have made one before I retired.
Very nice.
This guy is Awesome

I've never used a drill bit like that. Whats the lifespan of that hole saw deal.
Depends on where u get it from. I go to lowes n get Lenox bi metal and a good cuting fluid u won't be disappointed. Lowes will have the lowest prices.
David Johnson thanks. I just came back from the city should of read this earlier.
Jorge Serna are you taking orders let me know
Hey Allen love your videos! By any chance you don’t have a plasma cutter make that way easier ?
I'm new to welding... can someone tell me why he doesn't get shocked, when touching the metal without gloves when welding..
Table is grounded.
Ok Appreciate that.. I was wondering if that was safe
Good effort brother. Creative. I just wanna know how much it cost to you.
God I love Americans
Should of used 18 ga. Its lighter...This is kinda overkill...plus it's too heavy
But don't get me wrong I LOVE YOUR WORK
It will last forever.
Maybe 2 handles on it would be a good idea so the women can use it?
How wide is each panel?
You could make them any size you wanted
Still wondering what the price of this chimney is
$65
@@Allensweldingwoodworking I am definitely interested in one
How much would you sell this for?
They were $60
Awesome
For something that big I would have put 2 handles

Cool
Hey man I sent you a message on Facebook and TH-cam please check it, it’s important!
