A leader par excellence. A robust voice of Pakistan after Jinnah and Bhutto. It may be an exaggeration for the ppl with tilt against her but undoubtedly she got that charisma and worth which could lead Pakistan to the realm of prosperity and stability enabling it to march towards becoming a free country.

A great and an articular lady whose programme was to go to Pakistan to participate the election but the path was full of danger.
Probably, it was her last address before the Council of the Foreign Affairs before her gruesome assassination.
The nation has been deprived of a highly intelligent and seasoned politician.
    With regards
    Raja Aslam Khan

@@cleo5079 she spoke on many issues that were frowned upon and not acceptable to her enemies. One will never know but this is one of the interviews that sealed her fate. She was a threat to those who undermined her power and hated the things she could have done or go on to do.

LOL no. There had been several assassination attempts on her life years before she went back to Pakistan. The army was always after her. They would have killed her either way. They called her back to kill her. She started the charter of democracy which was a threat to the army. When it did take effect after her death, Imran Khah was launched to create division. That has been the army’s playbook from the minute the first military coup took place.

No one knows how much she has suffered through his life and regime, for her life was not a bed of roses she has proved that Islam gave power to women . She has proved that women can be prime ministers and also be housewives by giving birth to 3 children in the office. she was hope for Pakistani people but she doesn't know when she will be back she will be any more

The answer to Q1. I feel is a lame excuse, the fact of the matter is that the ideology of Pakistan did not percolate within the minds of people who live in the current Pakistan. One single person if he had lived long enough could have saved us is a bogus argument, Jinnahs sister Fatima lived long, she knew Jinnahs thinking well, but what did people do to her in her time when she rose against Gen Ayub for democracy? What did people do to Liaqat Ali khan ? Nations can not sustain on a few people they are created on shoulders of masses who understand the ideology after going through a long organic process, in Pakistans case it was only in 1940 that a firm resolution is made and in 1947 it gets created in less than 7 years ! while congress was created in 1885 and it had understood its ideology way better than the Muslim League. With Jinnah and Liaqat gone all that was left was a big piece of land and people who didn’t know what to do, then came the civil bureaucracy followed by military bureaucracy and the rest is history up until now. Now is the time that the majority of Pakistanis should reflect on their common ideology and build a new Pakistan.

Benazirs father Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the first person in the history to use THE RELIGIOUS CARD for pure political gain when he started the parliamentary debate on Ahmadis and declared them as constitutionally non Muslims. He started a systematic genocide against a minority group which was only 1-2% of the population and set the main precedence of terrorism and intolerance which ultimately his daughter succumbed to.

The dilemma with democracy is that it has no plan to defend itself in a broader spectrum unless it adopts undemocratic means. This is what democrats in Pakistan in particular and around the world in general must acknowlege. The rights rise through undemocratic means and using democratic norms as a shield is a perfect example of it.

She should also have explained why Pakistanis always happy under Army rule and why Pakistan always make progress in economy and security under Army rule.
She should have also explained that she was not democratically elected by her own party. She inherited the chairman ship of the Pakistan People party from her father. This is not democracy. This is monarchy.
In democracy, the political parties hold elections within the parties to choose leaders. But Benazir Bhutto got chosen because she is the daughter of the founder of the Pakistan People Party.
After her death, her husband became the leader of the party without any elections and now her son is the chairman of the party. Her son grew up in west and never lived in Pakistan, never held a job in Pakistan , and just like her mother he can not even speak Urdu properly .
Just like her mother Bilawal Bhutto spend all his childhood and teenage years outside Pakistan in luxury and then one day showed up in Pakistan to rule the poor people of Pakistan.
I do not see any democracy within Pakistan People Party. So I do not know why Benazir is talking about why democracy was not supported by Army in Pakistan.
