Now you guys might make the concession that Pros all use PERF. mode, and they have 360 fps stable. This is because: one, the majority uses NVDIA cards; two, pros use such powerful cpus that even if their gpus are single threaded in dx11, their cpus are good enough to literally run Fortnite on their own. This game is overall very poorly optimized. I have a Ryzen 7 5800x processor, an Rtx3060 graphics card, and 16GB of RAM. I did pretty much every optimization you can ever think of. Nvidia control panel, windows optimization, system optimization, fn optimization, afterburner, Nvidia profile inspector, cleaning up the PC, updating every driver, and much more. What I still end up with are insane FPS drops and microstutters, which are driving me crazy.

Dx12 should fix micro stutters, but if that dosent help windows game mode and widnows 11 should help. Driver updates, search up exploit protection and turn control guard off+ override settings.

Everything on high excluding Dynamic 3d resolution, nanite virtualized geometry, shadows, reflections and global illumination. I have a 165hz monitor and my fps is between 140 and 180. 1% low is probably 120 and average fps is 155

hell nah, on dx12 im gettin lower fps, textures loading slow and inconsistent, and the frametime with fps locker gets from flat to f*cking grass compared to performance mode.
I notice an absurd difference in how the game speed changes when I switch to dx 11 instead of perfomace mode. I don't know why this is, but in dx11 I feel the game is more fluid, especially when I set the shadows and processing to medium; in perfomace mode it feels like the speed increases, it feels like the dolls have rockets on their legs.
i got r7 5700x3d and rx 6700xt 1440p monitor and i was playing on dx12 till now and i get 200+ fps, when i try performance mode i get 350-650 fps+ and ms on dx12 is 3.5-7ms and performance mode 1.5-4 ms soo im a bit confused now on wich mode is best for ranked
even on nvidia, im on a 5 5600x and 4070 and dx12 has much better 1% lows compared to performance mode. Performance is really only good for low end and the extremely high end ones
most of the time on dx12 u lag at first because shaders need time to compile, play a few games and if your still stuttering restart your game and see if that fixed it

Input delay is dependent on fps. Some people say this because they get less fps on dx12, thus more input delay. However if you get more fps on dx12 like me, then it’s the opposite.

Definitely use performance mode, as to my knowledge , this AMD issue is primarily more impactful on people with newer models. Older models will suffer substantially more in dx12, so performance might be the way to go.

Nah, DX12 just favours AMD cards, as you said, and theres no point for using it with Nvidia. Im on Nvidia - Lenovo Legion 5 laptop with i7-12700H/ RTX 3060. Theres no big difference in FPS between perf and DX12 but I get significantly more stutters at DX12, even tho my CPU is pretty powerful with no overheating issues and runs at 4.1ghz constantly at 80w during gaming and my RAM is also very capable - DDR5 4800mhz, therefore I shouldnt really be getting even remotely as much stutters as I get on DX12, perf mode is the way to go, for Nvidia cards at least and ots been like this for years already.
@@ImJustSage this is because laptop versions of these specs (gpus, cpus, etc) typically have a much lower wattage because laptops do not have as good cooling as a pc can. this results in lower performance, as manufactures have to lower the wattage and make a different chip for the laptop variants

Well ur wrong because you don’t know the definition of “better.” On AMD gpus the clocks are tremendously low thus there is hitching and stuttering every few seconds as the clocks jump around the place in already low states. Dx12 is much smoother and offers a much more consistent experience

It’s reallt just performance mode and dx11, as forntite sees some very questionable optimization with AMD gpus RDNA 1, 2, and 3.
At this point in time I would consider a 3080 or 4070. 3060 12 gb works as well.

no point in playing 60 frames in comp
As I said it’s modded, I have 237 fps cap for freesync
144hz definitely makes it easier to play but a 60hz player can still destroy people, games like csgo is where you shouldnt do 60fps comp
Performance mode is bettee than dx12 on every gpu lol

Well ur wrong because you don’t know the definition of “better.” On AMD gpus the clocks are tremendously low thus there is hitching and stuttering every few seconds as the clocks jump around the place in already low states. Dx12 is much smoother and offers a much more consistent experience
