especially if you have both an amd cpu and gpu combo. performance mode doesnt allow full utilization of both resources, while DX12 uses up to 100% utilization. no clue why that works
@@fwoztyZA i did some more research and its because performance mode ~and~ dx11 (because performance mode is based on dx11 api) both lock your cpu to use only some of its resources for processing and disables multi threaded processing on amd cards. definitely switch to dx12 and if you have problems on the current amd driver 24.10.1 use ddu and use 24.8.1 until a new driver update rolls out that fixes it
just something to help for the next vid like this is that the calculators are so wrong in every single way it says i have a 50% bottleneck with a 7600x and 7800xt which they dont have a 50% they actually have a 0-1% bottleneck

That's not necessarily how it works. In reality, nobody should be on performance mode. People with weak and strong cpus should use DX12. The only reason you would want to use performance mode is if you have a potato gpu. performance mode is so easy to run gpu-wise that you wouldnt be bottlenecked by a GTX 1070 if you were to pair it with a 14900ks. Aside from that, DX12 is like I said, the way to go all around. It will literally use every single core you throw at it. Even a 14900k, DX12 will use every single one of its 8 p-cores and its 16 e-cores. Performance mode basically uses 4 cores/ 8 threads. its based on ancient DX11...

You have different degrees and kinds of bottle necks in different scenarios, hence the video. Gaming at a higher resolution results in a GPU bottle neck while gaming at a lower resolution results in a CPU bottle neck. Whatever thing that is strained more aka has more usage is often the cause of the bottle necking. The same way that resolution strains the GPU, different graphics APIs (dx11, dx12, vulkan, etc.) put different strains on different parts of the system due to the way they operate and render stuff with dx12 being more gpu intensive while dx11 being cpu intensive.
I run in dx 12 low settings apart from view is set to far. i average about 450 fps . If i run in performance mode i average 600 fps but the game looks terrible so i perfer dx12. I play in HD. If i play in 4k i get about 220 average fps on Dx 12. I haven't tried 4k in performance mode. I have 7800X3d and 7900xtx 24GB

I have i910900kf and rtx 3090 old combo, CPU is to weak for 2024 games and i think i have bottleneck, im playing performance mode and in game i have fps 240 stable but in heavy location scene i have big drop even to 110fps, im becoming crazy, on performance gpu usage is 60% and cpu 50%, my question is if i can push my GPU to 100% to have more fps, but i can't done it, on dx12 GPU is at 90% and CPU 60% but stable 240 Fps is a dream in this mode i think performance is better.

If you already have the rig why don't you try. Plus make sure to realize that a stable(Lower fps highs and higher fps lows is better than non stable(Higher fps highs and lower fps lows).
depends what ryzen 7 u have.. like if u have a ryzen 7 3700X its better to play direct 12x buttttt if u have like a ryzen 7 higher numbers then play performance

this is consistent with my findings dx12 was smoother while performance mode was stuttering and causing me to lose games
