great job guys! it's nice to see another 9000+ validation
That celebration scared the shit out of me, had the volume up lol

Congrats on beating you previous world record with i9-14900KS, you and your team are the best overclockers on this planet. 300 MHz advantage between you and second place shows who's the boss. Could you please include in the title or in the description that you have used liquid helium, NOT LIQUID NITROGEN because I've seen like 250 comments about liquid nitrogen and how it's not possible to go that low. To each I responded that in fact it would be impossible that's why it's logical that you have used something different nitrogen is too hot (-195,8 C) for beating WR yet but helium on the other hand goes to -269C.

Congrats fellas!!!
well done!
Thanks, this one was extra difficult and we needed a second session to get it
Of course any LHe sesion extra difficult for you and Shamino for normal people is possible to handle :D @@ElmorLabs
There will be a time when we will be able to have 9 GhZ as a stable frequency…crazy to say the least
Стабильную? Они её включают на 1 секунду, в чем смысл если невозможно даже оценить потенциал прироста.

Huge congrats on the new WR!
Well done guys!
I still can't believe it. This is godly.
Daamn great, breaking the speed barrier xD
Very nice! Congrats.
Thanks!

Oh I felt so honored, Windows Server R2.... So nostalgic and still useful today, of course in some things...
Probably a stupid question but I'm actually curious, couldn't manufacturers start making CPUs larger (with motherboards to support them, of course) and pack like quadruple the power? I don't see why they can't other than power consumption.
That's where AMD's Threadripper and Intel's Xeon came in. Though in most cases CPUs like that are used for large companies to handle servers, data centers, or AI. And most top end CPUs that's available on your local store is still more than enough for our usual heavy tasks like renders, simulations, etc.. The reason why we put more cores on a CPU instead of more power is mainly heat, which is why these guys use dry ice to cool the CPU down.
Making a CPU that's twice as large costs much more than twice as much to make. Lower yields / more mistakes in every batch. It is available for purchase, it's just very expensive.
Users don't usually need more than 8Cores because if you have a software that needs more than 8Cores, then that software should just be written to use the GPU instead (Since the GPU has thousands of cores)
@@npip99 CPU cores and GPU cores and "Very different things"
The issue is ultimately power consumption. The only point to making a bigger CPU die is to increasing the number of cores. Intel did this with the Xeon Phi. The Xeon Phi 7295 had 72 cores/288 threads and had a 320W TDP. It had a 1.5GHz base clock and a 1.6GHz boost clock, which is obviously not made for the single threaded performance that is essential for every day computing.
Bear in mind that these are slot loading cards, similar to PCIe cards. You’ll notice that the Xeon Phi has a lot of similar characteristics to a video card, and indeed they were highly leveraged in deep learning performance. They combined the best of both worlds when it came to the advantages that CPUs have when it comes to handling complex math, but also the advantages of a GPU when it came to doing extreme parallel processing. Nonetheless, these were never for consumers, these CPUs were for server farms.
Good job!
Next year the 10ghz barrier will be broken
yep will be
And How many watts Will this monstrosity consume

13900K no longer listed in CPU-Z world records , why ??????
Please don't tell me that you were stupid enough to record the 14900K record with the same user as the 13900K ???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
The technology is ridiculous
let her rip man.
one of these days you guys will reach the 10GHz mark.
Great job guys, but we have to sacrified so much to push this to 9 GHz
Awesome. So how many more fps will you get in CS: GO?
no more fps ,,but more for work ...o other staff uff its no nice news
Frames per microsecond
What version of windows is that
Looks like 7
Is that nitrogen or helium in the dewar?
Temp answered my own question. Must be helium.
i dont know what is happening
Physics gets real quirky at these temps
Awesome achievement!
I'm curious about part of the setup though - I've seen "Intel Controls" and "Work tool" a few times in XOC videos, are they public or internal tools? I can't seem to find mention of them anywhere outside of videos.
internal? to who?
@@hedonist2104 I found the tool. It's on the Asus z690 owners thread. I think it was an Asus internal tool that got released.
what was the power draw while it was 9ghz
I was also curious. Not sure if there's a linear relationship between the vcore and the power draw.
dude is in 2030 already
Это гарантийный случай?
is it possible to maintain this overclock for a short period of time and be able to benchmark a game or something?
You wouldn't see much improvement in gaming. Workstation tasks could be a different story though.
@@Tzalmavet I understand that, but I’m curious still
bizde 5ghz görünce dumanlar çıkıyor ama sıcaktan çıkıyor bizde
Gz
will this be comparable to a chip sold in stores? or is this a special run?
Not comparable you need 500+ for find that
This specific chip is cherry picked, but it's compared to previous gen cherry picked chips as well. Accross multiple samples it looks like about +100 MHz on average on the new chips.
@@ElmorLabs thanks for the response! Congrats!
Can you also show core temp?
you can't see actual core temp at -200, but it is pretty similar to the temperature of a pot
whats the point?
How do they managed to get Windows 7 running on a completely new CPU?
It's possible lol
Damn
God damn
Does anyone know the current stable record, as in the highest frequency that can be consistently run?
I'd guess around 7ghz
I'm clueless about overclocking, what's the point of pushing it that far?
For fun? It's not practical to run under these conditions either, extreme vcore (CPU core voltage,) and unclear if it was even stable, or how long it was stable. It's like any other pursuit for the sake of pursuit. Climbing mountains. Setting records of all kinds. One thing though, is a clear demonstration that CPUs are not exactly stalled just over 5.5 GHz clocks. The limit is mainly thermal, which is why extreme OC is using stuff like liquid Nitrogen to bring the temps down. To be clear, there's other limits besides thermal. But the thermal limit seems to be the primary limit. There's also the problem of longevity. There's a difference between what you can overclock at, without regard to the CPU having a reasonable lifespan, and the limits the manufacturer uses to ensure your CPU has a typical CPU lifespan ( which is normally a long time, usually longer than the rest of the PC, meaning a lot of perfectly good CPUs are trashed every day.)
why windows 7?
easy to run
Advantage of using 14900KF instead of 14900K?
Its all about which chip has the best cores and cold scaling. In this case it was a 14900kf out of all the cpus they binned. Having an igpu or not does not matter for this use case
Ah, ok thanks.
BRUH WHAT IS THIS. JUST TEST IT DONT JUST VALIDATE IT.
turn on fortnite on it in 8k and max settings
cpus wont be able to run stable at that speed for another 20 yrs
The KS is a better version
im curious why windows 7?
or xp?
@@erikmartin5970 That is Windows 7 and they use Windows 7 because it is fast and slim compared to windows 10 and many programs all work on Windows 7.

ayyy Intel released the same cpu for a more expensive price, but well done guys that was really amazing
😂😂😂I detected a sad AMDip fanboy with inferiority complex 😅😅😅
… what. The 14900K is supposed to be a better binned and $100 cheaper 13900KS.
14th gen is the best gen ever
You have no clue on what you’re talking about. There is basically no difference between 13th gen and 14th gen. Intel does that a lot
14th gen is THE WORST "NEXT GEN" SINCE 2010. The difference between 14900k and 13900k is between 0-3% at best, and they still didn't dethrone AMD's 7950x let alone 7950x3D even though their premiere was in early Q1 of 2023.
@@0NeeN0and i9 14 is better than that amd junk
@@0NeeN0 amd is great if you dont wanna touch anything in bios i guess
@@0NeeN0 What in the hell are you talking about? My 14900K at default PL2 of 253W is still 3500 ahead of the 7950X in R23. And the 7950X3D is a meme of a CPU that fares even worse than its sibling. Stop talking if you don’t know what you’re yapping about.
Also, it’s a fucking refresh, what do you expect? AMD had its own unexciting refresh back with the 3000XT series, but it’s fine when they do it right? If anything, the 14900K is pretty good value considering it’s supposed to be a better binned and $100 cheaper 13900KS.
Jesus fucking christ😂 Well done!
I have no clue what the fuck this is but I like it.
