A man who plays the violin and builds his own tiny house with an innovative design, wonderful! Love the verdigris green patina roof and swing outs. So ingenious. You are a natural mechanical engineer and artist. Very nice tour, thank you!
He does have quite a unibrow. The Unibrowbomber? He is sweet natured and natutal, artsy vibe. So glad he/they shared this trailer. He is a bit cute and handsome all at the same time.
Quite frankly it could have a bathroom where the deck space is ....and still have a fold down or an attached deck ....so what do people do if the have to use the the bathroom at night ??? Walk to the community bathroom???? pouring down rain ???? ... Beautiful piece of architecture none the less..
What a genius architect! I love the style of this tiny home, it's got flair. This man is so free, tweezers are part of the system he left behind. Lead the way, brother.
Genius. I think the wedge tip out is one of the best Ideas I've seen. Thankfully we have people like you who not only sit around and think of this stuff, but also have the where-with-all to execute the plan. Please make and sell plans for this design. You could be responsible for thousands of these being built and you could make some good money from the sale of the plans.
@@Christoff070 I think he mentioned that the home isn't meant to be travelling all the time. Especially without a bathroom. So you only do it when you want to move, which should be infrequent.
TRUE tiny! I am building one in the spring. It's so nice to see a nod to the true tiny movement rather than the mcmansion tiny houses the past few years.
Nick Knack and Zyl Vardos, these 2 guys are my favorite tiny house artists/engineers. So inspiring. Thank you guys for making the world a better place.
Brilliant absolutely BRILLIANT. His "salvage" mentality is what I call truly CREATIVE! Thanks EA for bringing us this in responsed to the outpouring of dislike over the last off-grid millionaires pad. Appreciate your attitude toward your subs! :)
I think 90% of that dislike came from you, didn’t it!? Most of us seem able to appreciate all the hard work, love and inspiration that both of these projects have.
Oh, I absolutely love this! I love the smart design but especially the aesthetic of it all ! And I noticed the Kate Bush, "The Dreaming" image/album... I have absolutely loved her for decades, since I saw her performing on Saturday Night Live, way back in the 1970's (I was 15). "The Dreaming" is one of my favorite albums of hers. And the album cover image is beautiful enough to have as wall/shelf art, too. Again, I absolutely love this !!!
Lol.Wow! RV slide outs are nothing compared to this! We were thinking about building a tiny house but after weighing our options, we renovated a 21 year old class a motorhome; We saved up some money, quit our jobs and now we travel and resell full time for a living. Changed our lives!
jaim haas so sorry somehow I didn’t see your question. I moved around here recently, I am not on salt spring island but I think 1/2 an acre on an island close to Vancouver would go for minimum 500k, depending on ocean view, etc. But totally unaffordable.
I get a real good feel about this man. His house is stunning and totally fits to the beautiful surroundings. Love it....I’ll be back to visit again. Thank you kindly Steph x
I've always wondered why so few tiny houses take advantage of collapsibility, when they are so often size constrained by road portability. Particularly the common low head clearance sleeping mezzanine design: collapse down to meet transportation requirements and expand for headroom when on site.
I agree. As dismally beige-and-silver (tinfoil?) as RVs all are, most have expandable bumpouts that are unnecessarily overengineered and mechanized to appeal to the aging hairspray-and-manicure set. This simple mechanism is brilliant.
do you have links of any available? i'd like to see them. i only know of the "boxabl" and some other company (i forget the name) in cali that is still troubleshooting theirs.
As an RV owner whose bump out frequently leaks... I would never build a tiny house with a bump out in it. Too much maintenance especially if you bring it on the road often
So creative and so much hard work! I saw a comment below about his voice. Turns out he’s an amazing singer! Check out Superfeather! Had my foot tapping and I loved their 70’s vibe 💜👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Sooo cool. Love it. Very clever how it pulls out, and then you have more space. I really think everyone deserves the right to build their own home, wherever that can be.
So ingenuous and thoughtful. And welcoming too! Reminds me of my uncle Ralph, in looks and mannerisms. And, BTW, my uncle was an architect too, with similar architectural sensibilities. All the best!
I like that casual-vest look and hope it comes back into common fashion for guys. Gives an extra accessory personalization factor aside from scarves/ties and socks.
This is my favourite tiny home so far after years of looking at them. I'm not a wannabe I do have a tiny home on wheels which I have loved for the last twenty years. I do have a problem though, sooner or later she'll not pass the MOT and then what will I do. I would love to put her on blocks on a tiny piece of land and see my days out there because she is part of me and she has seen me through some bad times. As a home, she has never let me down once.
This is one of the most unique one tiny house I have ever watched. For me its better to live in this tiny space rather than paying monthly bills for an apartment its quite expensive. Here and you are living close to mother nature and there is peace and calmness.
I absolutely adore this build! I’ve always loved the bump outs in fancy rvs, and have wanted to add some to my own plans. Thank you so much for bringing us more positivity, especially in this crazy time ❤️
I love this little house so much! It would be great to have this cozy little place in a large backyard as a place to escape to, or as a guess house, then go inside the main house whenever to the restroom. Perfect!
I love what the stuff this man builds, it's so amazing and unique! I also love how he salvaged all the material. I never learned how to build things traditionally; like from scratch going to the hardware and lumber stores to get the materials and build; but I've always felt I had a little knack for reusing things that are already built; like turning a coffee table into a bed w/ storage underneath, or ripping apart bunk beds and turning them into something else, etc. I admire this guy's vision and ability to look at things and see something else.
What a brilliant design! It looks SO cozy, and I love that it's pretty much all salvaged materials! Wish you were in Ontario, Nick! 😊 Beautiful jo . And lovely curved bench.
I'd love to see a slightly bigger one built on this idea, but including a bathroom...I like my creature comforts! 😊 Thank you for insulating!! Some houses aren't insulated...as someone who has lived in the mountains all my life, insulation is mandatory! Also love the woodstoves in each house!

Very smart concept! Salt Spring Island is beautiful, they are very lucky to be able to have tiny houses, Vancouver and around is a huge NO.
Do you know if real estate is very pricey here? What can a small 1/2 acre of land go for?
