Thank you for the video. Clarification. If I have one working fob and want to program another (for 2 working fobs) I'd need to buy 2 unprogramed remotes, use the procedure and discard my previously working, "locked" fob? Tia.
No - you can re-program your original fob during the procedure since it is going back into the same vehicle. The fob is "locked" but it is locked to your vehicle. If you look at the steps in the description box of the video - you need to repeat steps 4-6 for your original fob after the new one is programmed.

Hi, thanx for the vid. I got the low battery detection alert on the car and tried to replace my fob battery. I got the correct battery CR2032 and replaced it assuming it would work, it did not. Its possible there is an issue with the fob itself since the battery obviously did not help. You could try order a new fob and use this procedure to program it. Yes you can just take the emergency key out of your old remote and put it in the new one.
did I understand correctly that you first need to bind a new one and if I need a second key (my own), then it is already in the second turn, repeating steps 4-6?
yes. If you look at the steps in the description box of the video - you need to repeat steps 4-6 for the second remote after the first one is programmed

I lost both fobs to my 2019 encore is there any way to do this with out having to pay someone to cut the keys I got 2 new ones of Amazon but the keys in the fob are not cut
I don't think re-programming will help since the other buttons are working. There are several things that can prevent the remote start from working but for starters, are you sure the remote is start feature is not turned off in the vehicle? I've never done it on a 2017 Encore but on most vehicles there an option in the vehicles settings menu that can be turned on or off.
Just picked up a 2018 Encore but only one key fob. I found a set of two aftermarket ones on ebay. Do I need to get the emergency keys of these cut first before performing this procedure or do I use the emergency key from the original fob? I am scared to try this for fear I might mess up my original fob and be completely screwed. Someone talk me off the ledge.
You can use the emergency key out of your original remote. I would be wary of using aftermarket remotes though as they often have programming issues. If you are trying save some money you might considering ordering a refurbished OEM remote - just make sure it specifically says it has been unlocked or guaranteed to program.

I have a 2017 Encore that only came with one remote. I got a 2nd remote from a friend who kept it when he wrecked his Encore. When I tried programming using this procedure, it successfully removed both remotes and added the first one okay. It then said "Ready for Remote 2". I then put the second remote in the cup holder, pushed Start/Stop, and pressed the unlock button. The unlock button didn't work. The display went blank and didn't show "Ready for Remote 3" at all. The remotes for a 2017 Encore "lock" to the vehicle after programming.
