You should do a vintage restoration fishing challenge. Go back to the flea market, buy that Garcia Mitchell 300 (50s-70s technology), open it up and get it running like new and fish with it. Wanna hear that clickety clack.
The daiwa reel has a finger trigger bailing system, similar to the early ugly stick gx2 combos. If you try to flip the bail over manually they tend to stick, but if used properly they seem to work fine. Try it out and see how it goes...
Andy Montanez I had a Shimano reel around 2010 with the same system. Must've been the last reel ever made with a finger trigger lol I honestly loved it.
This channel is awesome! I'm always excited when a new video is released. Your one of my favorite fishing TH-camrs to watch! Keep doing what #FirstStateFishing does!
Great vid Mike, was really hoping to see in THIS video if that odd reel worked with new batteries or not. And I dig the value challenges over the new gear challenges, much more interesting to see what you find...anybody can catch a fish with a $20 budget new gear at (fill in the blank store). Consider trying a gas station/minimart challenge where you have to get everything BUT your rod and reel there.
Dude I love the flea market challenge. Great job bro. Hey how about a challenge where you fish a pond or lake where a viewer claims no fish. I’m sure you’d show em there’s fish in them waters lol.
What day did you fish the boat ramp in Newcastle and catch the shad.. just curious I live right bye there and didn't know if I missed the run or still can catch some
Dude that black sinner reel is a mitchell 300 series antique worth a good bit and excellent reel depending on the year worth 20 and a restore hope you bought it
Hey first state! You need to come to texas next spring for the sandbass also known as white bass spawn. I've been doing it since I was 3 and know where all the fish and all the spots are. You NEED to come to texas for it!!!
My most used setup was a flea market 5" ugly stick with a daiwa autocaster, spent 15$ on it and used it for 8 years and thousands of uses before the little daiwa was no longer usable
The ugly stik would've been worth it. I have one and I have used it for everything from catfish to trout. It's a very good rod. The strongest on the market in my opinion
You know what type challenge you should do, You need to go to walmart and you can't not buy a rod but bait. Then you have to go to other aisles and you need to construct your own rod or something like that
Hey man I’m pretty sure your not going to see this but I’m pretty sure your in new castle if so I go there all the time wish I could bump into you one day
It’s for my mom😂👍
Like me
As soon as I heard it I knew there was gonna be a comment 😂

That first spot you fished is my favorite spot! It’s known for its big catfish and Carp.
Best flea market find: $5 for shimano 4000 and a. 12’ surf rod. Caught so many fish with it definitely worth the $5😂

7:30 In ohio they're called Skipjack, or fresh water tarpon. They're the best catfish bait in the Ohio River.

I used to build PVC potato guns all the time when I was a kid. A future project for me is to use that knowledge and build a bait cannon.

Not a Shad, it’s a skipjack, AKA Tennessee tarpon, great catfish bait.

You should Do a tour of all your fishing stuff
If you use the trigger on it, it will lock open and cast better!
There was some nice vintage gear at that first table.
I saw that too lol, I'd grab a few things from there

So how many rods and reels have u collected from all your previous video that you made?
The thing you thumped on near the beginning is called a congo drum
The ugly stik would've been worth it. I have one and I have used it for everything from catfish to trout. It's a very good rod. The strongest on the market in my opinion

Nice catch, did you catch that shad at the Churchmans boat ramp?
